Throwing it out there...really frustrated. I had literally placed down about 15 stables and about 20 seedlings...had accumulated them. All of them were literally junk ( not the 1st time but the straw that broke the camels back). Stables that I have 20-30+ already...from years ago and the same with the tree's. C'mon...its not even exciting anymore bc I will get a basic animal over and over and over. Same with the trees...how many XXL Pines does a person need...Does anyone remember the days where a pink would actually be one of the wonder stables???

There is no thrill anymore. None...

And dont even get me started on the Party Wheel!!!
    IMHO

Agreed. I have a bunch sitting in my inventory - trees and stables. I'll set them out when I have time, but I'm not going to pull everything up to do it. I just have no faith that I'll get anything good. Maybe one good thing, if I'm lucky. Thank god trans-seedlantic is coming up - looking forward to getting rid of a bunch of junk. Will probably gain more from the gold/silver seedlings, but not in the same volumes!

party wheel, pffft. I just gave it a spin on sewinglady's farm. Had harvest bonuses for the top 3 spots...nope. got some EP. If I do get a harvest bonus, I almost can't believe it...just doesn't happen any more.

And I agree about the wonder stables and trees. a big meh. For my farms it seems to be an over-abundance of maple trees and orange chameleon stables. Fodder for the San Gigantica express for sure.

Maybe we've been playing for too long? Maybe we've become jaded? Or maybe BP has become stingy? Like they have a personal stake in keeping us from getting the rare stables/trees or a harvest bonus? Doesn't really make any sense.

And yet, we keep playing...addicts are we?

They actually do. If it were easy to get the rare stables, trees or harvest bonuses, we'd stop repurchasing to try again. They make way more money from 5 hopeful yet unsuccessful purchases than they do from those who win big the first time they buy. It's the same principle as gambling (since you bring up addiction) - when we win sometimes, we know it is possible to win and we feel that the next time we buy could be our lucky day. So we keep buying in the hopes of getting that elusive prize. But if we got it first time around, we wouldn't repurchase.

And since BP absolutely refuse to implement any of the changes or improvements we want and suggest, they need to do everything they can to up the income, because they know full well they do not have the players on side and aren't going to be making money out of the goodwill of their customers. Many I know have stopped purchasing or stopped playing altogether simply because they did not feel heard or respected by the company. I myself started playing when I was too young to make my own purchases, but vowed that when I had my own money I would buy bonuses. Now that I do have my own money, I couldn't justify giving my hard earned dollars to a company like BP. So they absolutely need to make the most of these sorts of rorts.

And don't even get me started on the Party Wheel. What a joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big proponent of the idea that "something is better than nothing", even when that something is 8 SSG (I mean, I use it, so it's still a gain) - but if I had paid real money for those tickets I'd be royally peeved. Yes, it's a gamble you choose to take, but Farmerama doesn't market itself as a gambling game. This isn't a casino. We aren't playing tattslotto.

BP needs to take Farmerama out of antiquity and update the prizes on the wheel (mine is beaver and sheep shearing- yellow), and level of surprise rewards.
I think in the 5 years or so that I have been playing, I have seen maybe a handful of low level pinks I won...not to mention the loads of real $$$$$$$ spent for those "gamble" plays. You are right....there is no fun any more. I have been back for about 60 days or so and I have all the new stuff. I opened a gazzilion stables and trees....huge disappointment.
This is a virtual game! That is why we stay, come back, spend money....and always need more - we can't take it...

Bravo...very well put. I have stopped buying altogether...and I use to unfortunately spend way too much money. But I wont spend money to get a basic or yellow pen for the umpteen time...same with the trees. There use to be a time that u would get a pink and it was so exciting. The only way to get any of the new pens is to purchase the package...I haven't won a new pen from a single wonder stable. Same for the trees. I have been playing since 2012...

intermittent reinforcement...by giving us scraps every so often it lures us back over and over with the hopes of winning again...

Glad to know I am not alone...was wondering if my farm was cursed...LOL>

The thing I find odd is, personally, if someone tells me how I can get a bunch of money out of them I listen closely! BP not so much. We tell them time and time again what we want, what we'll pay for, and that we're happy to spend money when we're happy with the game and feel respected by the company...for a company that so desperately wants cash (and isn't afraid to show it), they're certainly willing to sacrifice a massive source of income by making their customers hate them. Methinks they need to hire a new strategist...

There are things I pay for...and yet, this year, my financial situation has changed and for several months, I spent no money on the game. None. Now, I'm back to purchasing a few things - mostly harvester functions...I don't think I could continue playing without that. But, I was darn glad I had a stockpile of coupons on my two main farms (and I still wish I could gift them!).

Honestly, having the baby farms has opened my eyes to some things. I don't need to pay for party tickets because I have cloud rows on this farm and SL's that give me crates full of them. But, a newbie farmer? They don't have those cloud rows, and likely never will. Every little thing a newbie farmer wins on the regular and prize wheel is a good thing. For us longtime players? not so much. I don't need another yellow anything.

For newbie farmers, Moonlight Mania must be incredibly frustrating - they have no trees, no stables, and very few ways of getting them (save G&T - and that's being discussed on another thread). I have one baby farm that has started fooling a bit with MM. Honestly, the rest of the baby farms are pretty much lying fallow at the moment, and likely that's the way it will continue to be. I just don't have the time to devote to them.

So basically what I keep wondering is, how is BP pulling in new farmers? What's the enticement to play this game for them? Or is it that I'm jaded? It probably is that. I remember getting my first rabbit shearing shed from a wonder stable. I was so happy. So yeah, I'm jaded, and tired, and frustrated. And, is BP catering to us, long-time players? Or are they catering to the newbies? Or are they jaded, too, and just going through the motions?

And the final, and most important "wonderment" of all: is this game going to survive the demise of Flash and the switchover to Unity? I'm beginning to wonder...they have 7 months left.

I don't think there is any enticement. For the handful who get past the tutorial, an even smaller handful stay past level 50. Back when the chickadee program was in place, all I heard was people losing their chicks left right and centre because the game was too complex, not worth the effort, or they simply couldn't get the resources needed. Mind you, I applied to look after a chick as soon as it was available - I was never offered one, whilst others got several. Perhaps if they'd improved the system it would have helped keep more players in the game. Although it's very telling that they needed to introduce a buddy system just to help new players make sense of the game and encourage them to stick fat.

I'm pretty sure BP is catering to themselves. They don't cater to the newbies because the game is so reliant now on bonuses and privileges that they don't have and can't get. And they don't cater to long-time players, because we're telling them what we want and they refuse to give it to us. The game isn't working, we know that, and we tell them, but they don't listen. They do whatever they perceive will bring them more money, player satisfaction be damned, and don't stop to think that if they actually kept us on side, maybe those of us who play for free would be willing to buy something, and those of us who already pay would be willing to spend on more than just their essentials.

They say they're working on a solution for the Flash issue. I hope it does survive. Whilst this is just a game to us, it is the livelihoods of many people behind the scenes - they wouldn't simply let it fade into non-existence. Much and all as BP itself irritates me, I still find this game calming. It is a routine I've been in for 10 years now. To have that taken away will hurt - I'm sure there will be a withdrawal period if and when the game ends!

Years ago when there used to be monthly newsletters from the director (or whatever their title was), there was a mention of them realising that we feel unheard, and a pledge to fix that. Their version of fixing it was to take away the newsletter so that they could ignore us from a distance instead of publishing communication that explicitly showed their lack of interest in our input.

And, back on the topic that Elimeno started... the San Gigantica Express has arrived. And what a lackluster batch of trees it is offering. I don't think it's worth donating an XL apple tree to the cause. Maybe the baby farm will donate a few things...maybe not...

And we get wonder trees, too! Whee. I wish we could just pay BBs to get the rares. I don't want the other 30...because as we've discussed we've already got hundreds (I was going to type dozens, but really it's a lot more than that) of them and the chances of them turning into a rare tree is slim to none.
