I'm not sure why the developers think that the more complicated they make an event and the more play fields they utilize the more interesting it is. Making us jump through a bunch of silly hoops and figure out a bunch of rules before an event even starts doesn't really change the fact that we have to grow and throw an inordinate amount of drops and crops into an event that gives uninteresting givers, crates and prizes that most of us don't have room for or even enough interest to find room for. I guess I'm truly getting old and cynical but this one is way too complicated and uses way too many game resources (and now each one has to wait it's respective turn, which is even worse). Thanks for nothing new, surrounded by unnecessary complexity; in other words, a complete time waster. That's how I see it, sorry.

    I agree with you, Laurelei!

I have some time to play today however, so I might just do enough to keep me busy......even if confusing at first. I'd have liked it better if I could just come here and find it all r-e-l-a-x-i-n-g instead of challenging, though. We get enough of that in the real world, what with a Pandemic going on!
IMHO, Farmerama should be more of a 'safe haven' than a stressful one.

Having sat out the last few events, for the reasons listed above and others that have been enumerated many times, I was enthusiastic about this event. But the extra steps, the one-path-at-a-time and just the overall tediousness of this have really dampened my spirits. As said above, why are events increasingly more complicated, and increasingly less rewarding? After a trend toward improvement, we have rapidly declined right back down again. Oh well, I will just do more regular farming, and less event playing. That way, it IS relaxing and not stressful.

Too many steps make it unappealing. The CR is not at all worth the hassle! Not being ale to plant all three paths/options is too tiresome...
Giving the same old feedback to deaf ears is also extremely tiresome-.-
Keep it relatively simple - offer amazing rewards so we are drawn to our wallets to spend our earned dollars!!!
USE the event play field for ALL events - or provide us with much more playing fields.

I read the FAQ and I'm not doing this event. Too many crops and 3 different fields and I don't really need another cloud row. I'll stock up my moonlight plants and finish a few FSQ's instead.

I started this event thinking it might be fun. After reading these comments and agreeing with them I believe my time will be wasted if I continue. Also I have no flower bulb replacements in storage after 5 hours of playing. BP, we need stress free events right now more than ever.We need Events which give to us a good feeling of accomplishment instead of confusion and frustration. I am sorry that I wasted my time on this event today. Thumbs way down on this event.

I'm confused as to why there are 2 different recipes for the same seed...I didn't see in the FAQ that it would give you more seeds to grow if you went that route, or if the recipe #2 gave your plants with a higher yield... Did I miss something? Also, why did they give us so many tinctures?

It took me a while to figure that one out too! They are in the mill when you go to mill the recipe for the seeds to grow

You can just call this whole post "Why, BP, WHY?"

I'm sorry, I wouldn't normally comment twice on the same thread, but that's how bad and how confusing this event is...The more I look at it the more confused I get...The only good thing about it is the extra Moonlight Mania time.

Why would we have to mill starter seeds? This is a ridiculous requirement and I hope that BP will drop this idea for good right now and never bring it back. Players have always complained about mill requirements in events and this just doubles down on the worst event requirement ever.

As tlcsquared asked above, why are there two different recipes for each seed? Why would I want to use 10 and 10 of an item instead of 1 and 1? In fact the 10x10 recipe is actually impossible because it appears that I'm never going to get more than 5 bulbs at a time, so why is it even there to clutter up the mill menu?

Why are we given almost 10000 of these tinctures when I can't see that they are used anywhere else and as stated above, I'm never going to get more than 5 bulbs at a time so milling more than the bare minimum is not only unlikely but essentially impossible?

There's a lot of weird things that don't make sense in this event and I suspect it was released unfinished and incomplete, which as everyone has stated in most of the feedback threads is unnecessary because most of us are event weary!

Most players have expressed time and time again the desire for fewer, better crafted events and not sloppy, hastily released, incomplete and pointless ones. This is just the most ridiculous example in a long line of code and time wasting activities.

Spend more time figuring out how you're going to fix the Flash problem and less time giving us tail chasing busywork please!

Just completed it and obtained the stalk row. Pheww I'm exhausted from broken sleep in the last couple of nights.
Had to buy three giant baskets to complete this event, otherwise I doubt I could have finished it on time without the purchases.
Also I had the help of CA chutney of +2 harvest and loads of SG and SSG, otherwise I would not even attempt this event.
This is a rather confusing event, even if you have thoroughly read the FAQ factsheet beforehand.
A lot of minutes were lost while waiting for bulbs to show up on time, and they would only appear in the mill when the game was refreshed, so more time was lost with these unnecessary actions.
As a farmer of 3months, the EP givers are beneficial to collect, but I mainly did this event for the Beach Season Points as I skipped the Hamster Breeding event. Just had an instance of disappointing flashback of that breeding event.
For a low average income earner like me, I found that in the 3months of participating in this game, the events are always costly adventures!!! I only started playing this game due to the worldwide lockdown!
Apart from this event, I think in the 3 months I only completed two or three other events, all with purchases $$$!
Can't help it but to think that the events are designed for high disposable income players only!
And the events seem to be very time-consuming.
I only feel an overwhelming sense of exhaustion after completing these events, far from the pleasant sense of relaxation, fun and accomplishment!
From now on, I am considering just focusing on some FS quests and dish out daily gifts.
I am too is curious of how will the flash drive issue pans out by December?

I loved this event. It was like having three 48h quests while providing additional flexibility for those who are unable to stick to such a rigid schedule - a nice compromise between the stressful 24h quests and the more relaxed but sometimes boring 6-day events.

I thought it was cleverly designed and saw it as a huge improvement over another event with similar mechanics, The Great Feast. Kudos to whoever came up with the ancient key mechanism allowing us to unlock the next path only after completing the previous one. I would much rather grow 3 different crops on 3 different fields one at a time than grow 2-3 different crops on 3 different fields simultaneously; not only because it requires less farm-sitting (something I thought players hated?), but also because it allows for more time and space to work on other goals (something I thought players loved?).

I actually like the idea of having us mill starter seeds, as it gives me the option of building up 20+ of them before starting the next path. I don't think that would've been possible if, for example, the event layer had a button where we could simply donate event items in exchange for the 5 starter seeds. This way, I was able to save on some SG and SSG; not that I use very much in the first place but still, every little bit counts when you play for free like I do. It's also much easier to plan around milling starter seeds than it is to plan around milling crops + drops together before donating them to the event, making it a lot less annoying.

Seeing as how I was able to build up 20+ flower bulbs before starting 2 of the 3 paths, I found it more convenient to use the 2nd recipe that let us mill 10 starter seeds in a fraction of the time it took to mill the same amount of seeds using the 1st recipe. At the very least, it's an extra perk for premium players that doesn't put the rest of us at a major disadvantage.

The 3 sets of 9999 tinctures was a good way to make sure anyone who bought multiple baskets had all the tinctures they could ever need, while giving everyone else a bunch of free EP/TEP and CC for no extra effort on our part.

I didn't find the FAQ any more confusing than usual, and thought the rewards were fair for the amount of effort required, but I say this as someone who's not a fan of amazing rewards for not a whole lot of effort because of the effect it has on game balance.

All in all, a very pleasant and relaxing event. It was good to see others on the DE forum enjoying this one as much as I did. I'd love to see more events like this in the future. It was interesting without being too time-consuming, which is exactly what I needed right now. :)

I have been playing for years and have rarely purchased anything to finish an event. Most time I feel it isn't worth it. Play the game the way you want and don't worry about the rest of it. You will get there. That being said..I hated this event and only originally started so I could get stables. I did finish but don't feel it was worth the effort. I got seasonal rewards but decided not to really try and finish this one as my farm is depleted do to trying to finish each one.

    Thanks for the encouragement porkchop2!
I collected some wonder stables via FS quests, but they all turned out to be stables I already have. Wouldn't it be nice if the game system could kindly scan my farm and inventory first and then deliver a stable I don't already have! haha
I bought the Dome collection of 30 stables with RM a while back, same deal, gave me a whole bunch of lions and monkeys, which I already have. It is not worth a while spending money in this game anymore, and that's money from my holiday funds in the real world!
My enthusiasm for participating in events is dampened, but I will pace myself from now on as I don't have the drive to finish events anymore.

I agree with Porkchop2, I only ever pay for the harvester functions (far too many fields to do by hand!). Oh, tell a lie, I did buy a basket or something when there was a BB Tree up for grabs but I don't pay to complete events as a rule. Thin edge of the wedge as far as I'm concerned - where would I stop? :p
I am also much more selective about doing events - check out if I have to cut out on sleeping to finish it or not. :music:

Having said all this, I quite enjoyed the pace of this event. Initially I thought it was unnecessary to make us mill the starter seeds but I see the logic - some of us could have finished the event in a couple of days making it quite easy/boring. It didn't spoil the event for me. :D

I really liked this event. I was a little confused to start off with but once I figured out I only had to grow one crop on one piece of land at a time I was over the moon. I hate having to grow multiple event crops on different lands that take different times to grow, makes me feel like I'm chained to my farms so I won't do those events any more. I found this one quite easy and didn't have any trouble growing the required amounts on all of my farms and as I had two event lands spare to grow what I wanted for drops I just grew longer crops which made that part easier as well and I could still have stables out as well on the other lands. It also didn't spoil the week long Moonlight Mania so that was a big bonus for me.

I was quite happy with the cloud row and the other rewards, especially the crates as I'm trying to do the Beach Season as well (my first time). Overall I think well done BP :inlove:

Honestly, whenever we have Moonlight Mania, I'm up in the night harvesting...gotta reap those crops while the moon is up!

I thought this was a fairly easy event. Reminded me of the Trail of Lights event from a year or so ago. Yeah, the one section at a time thing seemed odd at first, but honestly, it wasn't that bad and allowed us to keep farming on the other fields. I did like that we only needed one field from each section for the event crop. The reduced number of crops needed really made that doable.

I like that the developers have listened to us and have made recent events for certain fields only, allowing us to continue normal farming on other fields.

Also really appreciated a full week of MM in July! Was especially nice that really only needed a couple days worth of event crop growing out of that, so was able to build some MM crop reserves.
