Am I missing something!

In the Official Announcements/Postponed Event/Mini-events is says

Howdy Farmers,

Due to technical issues, the following event/mini-events run time will be adjusted:

Octo-tastic Daycare:
7th of July at 18:00 CEST to 13th of July at 22:00 CEST

but I noticed the event is running. I'm pretty sure you (BP) knows that we need to prepare to these events. My mill was full, I have bonus decos enabled to harvest extra animals, etc.....
This is ridiculous.

The Official Event Announcement originally indicated a start and end time as 14:00 CEST as is typical. However, the event was delayed 4 hours due to technical difficulties. The event began yesterday at 18:00 CEST as announced.

I'm sorry you are not prepared for the event, but the original announcement was made with more than 24 hours advance notice as is the usual custom.

Be sure to watch the forum for announcements so you can prepare your farm as you wish.

Sorry but you are wrong, it's not the four hours you are talking about.... Please read the announcement again. It say it is postponed form July 7 to July 13!

 

The Events stated in the Announcement all had their start times postponed. The new run times for the listed events was stated in the Announcement, it did not state that the whole event/s were postponed.

Have you looked at the Official Announcements and then Postponed Event/Mini-events (which I pasted at the top of my case)? Obviously someone made a mistake, I don't know who and it doesn't matter who. The result is that people who don't play this game 24 hrs a day read it and plan their game accordingly.

 

I am sorry the wording for the title was confusing. It was stated in the Announcement that the start/finish times were adjusted. I will ensure that I make the wording clearer in future.

This was the original run time:

Starts: Wednesday, 7th of July at 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Tuesday, 13th of July at 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)​

The event was then delayed by 4 hours due to technical issues and the run time was adjusted to:

Starts: Wednesday, 7th of July at 18:00 CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Tuesday, 13th of July at 22:00 CEST (UTC+2)​

July 7 at 14:00 CEST + 4 hours = July 7 at 18:00 CEST

The "7th of July at 18:00 CEST to 13th of July at 22:00 CEST" part of the announcement was just showing the revised start and end times. It should not be taken to mean that the Octo-tastic Daycare event had been postponed from 7th of July at 18:00 CEST to 13th of July at 22:00 CEST, as that would be a misreading of the announcement.

Note to mod: I think OP is confused because the original event announcement only shows the revised start and end times. Perhaps it would be less confusing if you showed the adjusted run times like this:

Starts: Wednesday, 7th of July at 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Tuesday, 13th of July at 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)

Starts: Wednesday, 7th of July at 18:00 CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Tuesday, 13th of July at 22:00 CEST (UTC+2)​

 

Thanks zerodegrees. Yes, that was very confusing, at least to me, and I took it as start time is changed from 7th to 13th. Your suggestion would be very helpful and really explain what is being changed. Also, we could update the event itself as it was done in the past. There could be a note added at the bottom explaining the change. That everybody will notice as any content update highlights the event title.
