@Bisquitte, It was for sure an expensive event for those who chose to complete it. I did just a few of the things and backed away from it. I will sell a little more stuff in case some more people need Solotime's branded fruits and crops :p

@farmlily3 , Thanks! We are happy with him for sure.

@hopy14, Thank you so much for your post!

@everyone else, So my family is currently facing some COVID issues. My uncle from Minnesota came to visit. He didn't know he was infected with the new COVID virus and infected us. I am completely fine, but my wife and daughter aren't. My daughter has a fever, and my wife has a really strong sore throat. Does anyone have some suggestions for the sore throat and fever? We tried using fever medicine and sore throat medicine, but it didn't work.

I only had a headache for two days, tiredness, and muscle pain in my knee.

I haven't had COVID (knock on wood!) but gets sore throats kinda regularly. The only thing that helps me is lots of cold fluids, Hall's cough drops to numb the pain, and no talking.

The last part is the hardest. I come from a family of chatterboxes.

My collegue told me to eat ice-cream for fever. No idea if it actually works, but for sure that was one tasty idea to test. Unfortunately it didn't work too well for my son while he had the covid but for me it might have, only had little higher temp but not actually fever.

Staying hydrated is key when combatting fever. For sore throat, I like to sip on ice water and use Luden's drops as they do not have the mentholated effects that Halls drops do.

I vote for ice cream any day! :D Another frozen item that helps, especially when my kids were young, was popsicles. When they didn't feel well, it was difficult to encourage them to drink, but they would drink if it had a straw in it and would eat popsicles.

May you all feel better soon. Hugs.

So sorry your family is dealing with Covid and hope everyone fully recovers sooner than later.

We raised our family while living overseas in several countries. Fever and sore throats were not uncommon. Not always having access to pharmacy meds, we have, and continue to use, these remedies: 1/2 to 1tsp salt in a cup of warm water and gargling with it several times a day; Tiger Balm if you can stand the smell. You rub it on and it's good for many things (sore throats, sore muscles, some bug bites); Rosehip tea or Hibiscus tea with lemon and/or honey; most important when sick is staying hydrated - drink lots of water. We also use several natural products such as Thieves and Sambucus Elderberry Zinc lozenges. Rest as much as possible.

Hope you are all better soon.

Thank you everyone for replying! We did try out the suggestion of ice cream, and they're both saying they feel some improvements from it. So that is a really good idea. Also my daughter is keeping up with drinking water.

@MeadowCrossing , That is some great advice. We don't have any of those items though, but do have a herbal tea and some organic honey! (My wife tried the salt gargling, but it didn't work)

Glad they are feeling better and ice cream is definitely better tasting than any of the other things! For the salt water, it may take a few days. Often, herbal remedies take longer to have effect. We've also used it at advice of dentist after having dental work done. Has many healing properties.
