City Tasks

For those who attempt to do these tasks, suggest you first check the FAQ. I have two which require EV/Alps to be open and it's not open on my farm. I didn't realize that until I began a craft in the Artisan Village only to discover that 'Craft' an item is done in EV. I already used 1BB to change a task requiring harvesting the 'Converter'. So if you have more than one task that you cannot do, skip them all. At least I didn't spend any Farm Coins on something not needed. Not sure how this will work out if the system assigns tasks assuming we have something we don't and only have recourse to changing one task/day.

It does say tasks reset at 0000 local time, so maybe when I get up tomorrow, I'll have a set I can do. Otherwise, this looks like another thing I'll give a pass.

 

My first 4 tasks:

1. Spin the wheel - no problem
2. Harvest breeding pen 2 times - I normally wait to harvest when we have Baby boom.
3. Spend Barnyard Bills - doesn't say how many but I hope this is not a frequent daily request.
4. Visit Edelweiss Valley - no problem

Too early to have any official feedback, but I'm not looking to add any difficulty to my farming day. If the tasks coincide with my normal routine, that's great.

 

both my farms have different tasks. Main farm had spend Farm coins, harvest Alpine crops, harvest 2 breeding pens, use 2 power feeds on the Magical Glade. Baby farm had something different but I won't stress it out... Even after reading the FAQ, what's the big deal about this statue???!!!

 

The rewards seem too meager to bother. Am I missing something?

 

@RebaFC : nope, you're not missing anything!

For others: spending CCs was filled by buying water only!

 

Mine had farm/orange coins...not happy about that!

Update: Again asking for orange coins...giving it a pass. Did all four tasks yesterday, but don't see any change...so one slogs away for 7 days for a 1hr harvester voucher? Hmmm

 

I will look at it each day and if the tasks are do-able for me, I will try to complete them but if not, I will pass. It is very much like the quests on EV and some of those take forever - leveling up on EV for instance.

Edit: Actually had a re-think, even if you can fulfill all the quests, you will still get smaller prizes so really, you can get extra stuff just by doing what you normally do. I will check it out each day in case the main prize is something I want and then I will make a special effort to do all the quests.

Another Edit: Now I see the main prize (1hr Harvester Voucher ) is for 7 days' of completed quests!

Oh well, I shall stick to my strategy, take what comes naturally and see how it goes.

 

Well this farm and SL's got reset. So whatever I had done yesterday is gone, but whoopee, I'll just start again.

Except. What's the converter? Today's task says start one production in the converter.

Okay, I'm editing this post to add that I think we need a "Glossary of Terms" for the City Tasks.

I don't dare start a new thread, so I'm starting this Glossary with this post. Add yours if you get any with the midnight reset.

Converter = Edelweiss Valley Converter (Sawmill building between barn and the beaver brothers - upper edge just to the left of center).

Spend Field Silver = Spend Country Coins.

 

Saturday, 06 Dec JST: I have a task today to use feed on two workshops on: Magical Glade.

I have two workshops on the MG: Ostrich Egg Farm and Barber Shop. The task recognized the OEF, but not the BS. It seems that the BS is not considered a workshop. Player beware, some newer items may not be recognized for what they are!

I reread the event FAQ a bit more closely and discovered it gives some hints as to which area fills requests, but imo, this is not the best time to roll out a new event with players trying to keep myriad other things, game and RL, rolling along smoothly.

SL's farm had a similar outcome - newer items aren't recognized as fulfilling the task. I think we'll just have to suck it up, use a BB and get a new task.

This is a nice idea - especially for newer farmers, but with the tasks so random, they may not have Edelweiss Valley open, etc. And I don't know that the system for this knows that or can know that, etc. Plus, much was, um, "lost in the translation". Hence why I feel the need to provide a glossary.

 

My baby farm got the request to sow an alpine plant and my garden is not opened yet! Also on my main farm I had the "fill an order" request, turned out it was from the Season Event not EV.... Such a mess!

 

Yeah, I had the "fill an order" one the other day on a couple of my farms. Turns out any quest from poking city hall works. So maybe I should add to the glossary that "order" actually means quest step?

ugh.

 

Even worst: I got "start 2 breeding actions", ie I tried to start 2 breedings with the "fill all" and it only counted as 1 action! So anything breeding should be done one by one manually!

 

'Buy something from Shop-O-Rama' was the 'order'. I bought 30 expensive crops in the 'orange-basket shop': nothing, no reaction. So I bought an XL Catalpa tree (7,600 coins): no reaction, finally I bought a water tower (250 coins). You can guess: not a hit either. Must be something wrong with my interpretation of the order, but what?

 

I wonder if this is the right route:
Red basket in the bottom corner.
Orange coins take you to Shop-O-Rama
Buy something with orange coins

 

Go to the Season event and click on the orange coin. That will take you to Shop-O-Rama. Clicking on the Orange coin in the Orange basket takes you there, too. Hope that works! See you tomorrow. Off to the Land of Nod

Lol, just noticed after I posted that IpsiDei also replied with the same!

 

Turns out this entire thread is something of a glossary. Ugh. And, someone else asked about the converter in the general issues section.

Things I might know (or not, depends on my coffee consumption): I think we get a 24 hour grace before we lose our fuzzles icons altogether and have to start over. I don't farm the baby farms every day, so I skipped a day and the fuzzles tokens at the bottom were still there. When I skipped a second day, I lost my fuzzles tokens on those two farms. No biggie.

I do like that pop-up in the lower right corner when you complete a task. It's a good reminder to check and see what else we need to do.
