I was startled to discover that this event ends at 3am my time. All previous events that I've engaged in ended at 7am my time, 2pm CET. When did this change and why? This forces people on the east coast US to get up at 4am. For those of us who work 9 to 5 in US time it's a bit of a punishment. If I hadn't noticed I would have lost all of my last planting.

It's never going to end at a perfect time for everyone. It may startle you to know that they don't actually plan these events with the US players in mind, nor do they set out to punish these players. We've always been aware that the events run strictly to CET time and it's just a little frustrating for those who are asleep at that time. It doesn't force you to do anything - that's a choice you make. This is a game and the world won't end if you don't finish the event.
You'll recall that the event started a few hours late. I expect that this is the reason for the event finishing a few hours late too. It's the same length of time, just a few hours out from when it was initially announced to start and end. Events usually end at 2pm CET time (7am your time) because they start at 2pm CET time. Given that the event started late, it will also end late, in order to give us the same amount of time to participate.

  3. Hi oaksong

11:00 CET is a quite regular time for events to end, maybe you've finished previous events in plenty of time so not noticed before. They tend to be planned for 11:00, 14:00 or 16:00.
As squigglegiggle has pointed out, Bigpoint are a German company therefore their events have and always will be based on European time. Being a global game, there are players from all 24 time zones so it will never be possible to please everyone.

    Can I help further?
