    The only way to shop with friends in the market is if you both belong to the same market. Otherwise, it won't be possible.

    As stated you cannot choose which Market you are in. Each farm is assigned a Market number when you join the Game.
    You can find out which Market you are on following the method from fellow Farmers here.
