why take a perfectly good and enjoyable event like ingrids axe throwing and mess it up with ...quite frankly, hard to follow instructions in the event faq.
    -.-
how do you open up the other parts of the event field??????
whats with choosing different paths to get similar results??
why not just have a event field, grow the crops, mill the soup and enjoy the axe throwing?
you've really messed up an enjoyable event for no reason other than to make it harder to understand what to do and make players think...you know what lets just forget it, skip this event, it's just too much hassle, when taking time out of real life should be a "downtime" relaxing, enjoyable, easy on the brain kind of game.
i understand evolving and adding new dimensions to the game to keep interest...but at the cost of players loosing interest in the game itself...is that worth it?

    P.S.
at least i havent struggled for drops ....got over 1500 horns... but no crops to mill with as the fields are pathetically small, providing pathatic harvests!

I agree- this used to be fun with the ax(e) throwing but to add in this high requirement to just get to the ax throwing makes this no fun. Yes I am more of a casual player but even doing a few turns at ax throwing was fun as a mini-game. I do like that the field is the special field so I can grow regular crops and will do what I can for the event.

Overall, I enjoy the concept of this amended Ingrid event: the idea of having to refurbish the bridge and the dwellings makes it rather interesting; the strategy involved in getting to the axe throwing; and as said above, the chance to do regular farming on the normal fields but..... it is SO TEDIOUS to have to grow so many rounds of crops, in limited space, before being able to get anywhere, with no way to speed things up... I've already become bored. There is a fine line between "allowing things to not be rushed" and "forcing it to be tedious". I am ALL FOR the use of the event field, but let it be subject to the rules of the rest of the farm, please! and then perhaps lower the requirements so that it is not impossible for less dedicated players to complete some events, instead of the way things have become, where it's nearly impossible to complete any event without the determined use of 1x1s, CAC, SG and some harvest bonuses. And while I like the more relaxed time frame, as with the last event like this, growing the same thing for two weeks loses its appeal.

I do think most players would prefer to have the Ingrid event left alone, and perhaps try this new method on something not quite so beloved by all.

Ingrid axe throwing should be decoupled completely from the refurbishing: both have a cloud row associated with it but the event crop for the broth is not. Each harvest toped at 68 (73 if we're lucky to have the extra 5 booked event crops) makes things sooo boring that we can seem to progress in the game. Please let us see what is associated with each donation. I tough I was done with the red shield crops building the bridge when I got to the last step where another 425 was required *blech*!

I do not mind two week long events on the Event field, I even find it fun because I can harvest 20h+ crops on the main land and green meadow, but like @-matselleste- said leave Ingrid alone and come up with some other event to implement this mechanic (there is a tonne of characters in Farmerama that still haven't an event associated with them).

This event is not fun and I'm losing interest.
    (update* I've completely lost interest.)

We all look forward to Ingrid and these changes have bogged it down big time. It would be nice to be able to at least play the mini game of axe throwing while waiting for eons to grow and harvest. 10 hour crops with no buffs? hahaha No. Can only grow each crop in specific sections on one single playfield? Not fun. We're on day 4 with not much happening - beyond boring.

I do like using the event field now and wish we could use it more often, but we should be allowed to use buffs on it as well.

*Edit to add ~ I decided to stop participating in this very long boring drawn out event that is no fun whatsoever. The rewards and CRs are not worth the time, energy, and resources. In the future please consider allowing us the use of buffs on the event field. And if an event is indeed going to be on the event field, allow all drops to be from there as well instead of having to use our main farm fields. Using the event field is great because we can keep doing our main farming quests and goals, so what's the point of using the event field if we're just going to have to make use of our main fields anyway for drops.

Yes, I agree, this mechanic might have been better if it wasn't the axe throwing event. Having so much boring time spent just slowly growing crops and opening the second field and STILL not able to do the actual axe throwing. Usually one of my favorite events.

eta: The event field should let you access the mill. We have to use the mill for the broths, and I click in the manure/water area every time. Just seems like an extra step to go to the main fields before we can mill the broth.

I do not care for this event structure at all :(

I understand BP has always made the event field to be buff free, but why restrict it to such small areas? It makes progress so very slow and frustrating. To complete it, you must be very diligent about harvesting on time or risk falling behind due to other real life responsibilities. I do not want to worry through a 2 week event if I will be able to finish or not. I also don't want to work for 2 weeks just to come up short. I would prefer being able to use the entire field to grow the crops as suitable to my schedule. Short one during the day and long one overnight.

    Pros:
Crop harvest times are a multiple of each other so that every other harvest, they are harvested together
    Baba Yaga as a prize

    Cons:
    • Complicated with multiple crops, multiple harvest times, multiple buildings with multiple options
    • Very small space to grow crops in
    • Progress is so very slow that it become tedious, boring and frustrating
    • Buildings with options kept all options instead of removing the ones you didn't choose. This made it confusing because it looked like your donations were lost
    • There is no way to make up for lost time if you miss harvests due to real life except to purchase baskets. You cannot use buffs, super grow, suzy's super grow, etc.
This mechanic would certainly be something I would seriously consider skipping in the future.

Too convoluted. Others have said it in more detail but this is what it boils down to. (Rube Goldberg.)

I agree with everything above. I would add why does the Bitter Blade have to be 10 hours? Most people can only get two harvests a day at most making it extremely difficult to finish the last step to get the extra Broths. I don't like playing this game all day and into the evening as well, goodness knows how those who work or study manage it - let alone look after a family! :wuerg:

I have always liked the axe throwing mini-game but I will think twice in the future about starting an event that doesn't let me throw my first (home-made) axe till a week after the event started. :(

The only positive is that it is on the event playfield as it doesn't interfere with anything else on my farm though it is also a negative as we are unable to use our buffs and resources to complete the event and do as many mini-games as we would like. -.-

Definitely not a good combination - why the obsession with putting events together lately? Most events have enough facets without complicating things further.
As said before, very slow, very tedious and very frustrating. 8)

Dislike having to go from event field to another to mill the axe and then back to the event field to throw the ax. I would rather have had the mill on the event field than the inventory barn.

If you click the + under the number of axes, it will take you to the Mill and back to Ingrid's when you have milled your axe. ;)

You have to actually go to the throwing game to find this. Usually a + sign means you can BUY more of whatever you need. There is no information in the instructions regarding this. I did not think that meant I could mill them. Having the mill on the field would have been clearer. The inventory barn is not needed on this field.

I like that we can spend event plants we don't need in the event shop. It's a nice feature. It would be nice to see more of them.

It has been said well above, but what is really coming home for me, with the string of "event field events" that we've had recently, is that I am far more tied to the keyboard than I want to be. Normally, I can farm hard on one or two days to ensure that I complete an event. This method requires diligence every day, and on the days that I work ten hours, I am just s. o. l. on making up those harvests. I understand the desire for a level playing field but it actually is a punishment that there is zero way to make up for lost time, whether that time comes from business or pleasure. If all events were like this, you can be absolutely certain that I would not be entering my thirteenth year of play!

A suggestion on how to tick all the boxes: have some events where the basic requirements can be met with one harvest a day using 2x2 plots. Additional prizes available for players who have more time/resources. I remember that it was a desire to complete events that drove me to purchase the harvester function so that I could utilize 1x1s without wanting to kill someone. Positive reinforcement, rather than having requirements that are so high that it is nigh impossible for the casual player to get anywhere. Casual players might turn into thirteen year veterans if the environment is pleasant!

    Very imbalanced game!
I have finished all the building upgrades, but continue to plant for axes.

I will have excesses of a lot of items (especially red wood planks which can't be exchanged for anything), and nowhere near enough of other items (namely Golden root).
I have exhausted the shop of purchases with the other plants too :-(

I like Ingrid usually but this was rather slow growing and a bit too complicated. So many different plants and different growing times... The longer plant is usually not ready when I'd be able to harvest.

And the event field is not available on the mobile app so I can't harvest on the go, during the day.

The last stage of one of the buildings has the reward, "a viking broth every 20 hours" which seems pretty pointless. I'm still growing the plants for a previous stage so there's probably not going to be too many hours of the event left by the time I get there.

EDIT: okay never mind the last stage, I have just realised that i need bitter blades to complete TWO of the remaining houses, and there's just not enough time left.

Two weeks of work and not getting the cloud row.I threw enough axes to get Ingrid's cloud row but one of the slots will stay empty.

    Oh well.
