    Howdy farmers,

    Since yesterday the Open Beta for Unity/WebGL client is live.
    We aren´t only to some extend relieved but also happy! Happy about your feedback, your numerous bug reports, and not to forget your constructive comments! Our moderators are doing an amazing job - like always. We want to point out that they are summarizing your feedback and translating and categorizing all bug reports so the Farmerama team gets a fast impression about your experience. We realize that this is indeed causing a lot (really a lot!) of additional work for them and we are grateful for the many hours they put into supporting us with this big step for Farmerama. So, keep this in mind when seeing a moderator on the forum and show your appreciation!

    The unity version has now been playable for a little bit longer than 24 hours and we watched the situation carefully and we want to highlight some details:
    - Everyone who can´t access the Unity/WebGL client: please don´t worry too much. As stated, we started working on an alternative solution already. We will keep you posted!
    - The “Zoom issue” is critical – not only for you but also for us! It is our main priority right now. For now: Zooming will cause in various issues, to mention 2 which were reported often: Renzo mini games, especially the Balloon shooting, aren´t smoothly working, manual harvesting leads to problems as the circle menu doesn’t show on the correct position then.
    We will inform your as soon as the issue is fixed!

    - We do believe that deactivating animations and limiting the FPS rate (quality settings) will help many of you who are complaining about performance issues. We can understand that this isn´t ideal but we want to provide some context for those of you who are interested:
    This setting does two different things in flash and unity:​

    Graphics Quality in Flash is controlling font smoothing and flash hardware acceleration but in Unity this setting is not setting front smoothing (the font technology is smoothed by default)
    So, our ok/good/high settings actually control the rendering rate (framerate) of the client (so how hard is the computer working on pushing out images per second)
    On High we are limiting the gpu to 60 frames per second, this is the standard framerate most lcd/crt and mobile phones are running at and will make scrolling and unity animations buttery smooth IF your system is capable of running it.

    This setting is important for people with lower end desktop systems and laptops because it will stress the system a lot less, Stress on a laptop will thermal throttle the device (meaning the system will automatically reduce the speed of the cpu/gpu) – this leads to stuttering, very low framerate and hangs.
    The problem we are now facing is that this setting is physically the same flag in flash and unity, so if you have set your flash version to High, your Unity Version is running on High too.

    We will discuss further about if we split the setting on Unity/WebGL client backend and have two different settings for Flash and Unity and set the default for Unity to either OK or Good in the future but for now we ask you to do it by yourself. Thanks a lot for your cooperation.
    We know this is a lot of information, but we feel that this could help many of you.
    Moreover, we want to thank everyone who is actively testing right now. It means a lot to us and we will make sure that confirmed reported issues will be fixed as soon as possible

    Today we also decided to end the Open Beta on 4th of November around 14:00 CEST. We have several reasons, but the main reason is that we are confident that 5 weeks in total will be sufficient to receive a good overall picture. As always, we will inform you via official announcement if there are interesting new information.

    Keep on reporting issues and writing your feedback – we appreciate it a lot.

    The Open Beta Unity testing will end one day earlier and will finish at 14:00 CET today. The Game Team decided to end the testing at the same time as the Event ending.​
