Farmerama Unity WebGL Open Beta September 2020
Planned Start: 30th of September 2020 at 14:00 CEST

    What is an Open Beta?
The Open Beta Phase is intended to be the last stage of the Farmerama Unity/WebGL Client development process where the Unity/WebGL Client is accessible to all Farmerama players. With the Open Beta Phase, we want to see how the Farmerama Unity/WebGL client behaves in the live Farmerama environment, how you react to it and to collect and resolve remaining issues.
    Which are the minimum requirements?
The Unity/WebGL Client is a very different technology compared to Flash and has higher system requirements. We have intensively tested the client and we think, to reach an acceptable gaming experience, the Farmerama players will require at least:
    Operating system:
    - Windows: 7 SP1+, 8, 10, 64-bit versions only
    - MacOS: 10.12+
    - Linux: Fixed at: Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 and CentOS 7
    Hardware:
    - CPU: Core i3-3110M (BGA) (release June 2012)
    - GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
    - RAM: 4GB
    - OS: Windows 7, 64 bit.

Nevertheless, the Farmerama Unity/WebGL Client is playable also on computers with less performant hardware specifications, but the loading time may significantly increase and you may have to turn off animations or limit the FPS rate in the settings.
    Which browser can be used?
Any recent desktop version of Firefox, Chrome, Edge, or Safari. Please note that Internet Explorer is not supported!
However, for the best experience we always recommend using the browser version of Firefox and Chrome (for both: 64bit versions) and that you always have the latest version of these installed.
Can the game be played via smartphone/tablet?
Not perfectly fine right now, we recommend using a desktop PC/laptop.
Can it happen that accounts get ruined?
    No this is impossible
Can it happen that items get lost?
No this is impossible. Nevertheless, we have identified, that in some rare cases, some field items are yet not available in the Farmerama Unity WebGL version, in such cases you’ll see the “loading flower”. The item itself is definitely not lost, still available in the Flash version, and soon, it will be also there in the Unity Client.
Where is the access point for the UnityWebGL Client?
In the right corner of your game you find a button: Unity-Version. Just click on it and the client will change from Flash to Unity:
    unity access.gif

We recommend, to only have on account open in your browser at the same time, especially only one running Unity/WebGL client.
How long will the loading of the UnityWebGL Client take?
Due to the fact, that the Unity/WebGL technology is very different from the Flash technology, the loading times are higher compared to the Flash version. This impacts especially the first time you try to load the client or loading the client after clearing cache/cookies and/or restarting the browser.

So it is important to understand, that the initial loading (first time you access the Unity client) will take more time as all assets/content needs to be downloaded in the background, as well as the Unity Client Engine has to be initiated. That means, that the average initial loading time can take more time that you are used too, so please be patient when you first time open this version.
When you load the game for the 2nd, 3rd etc. time the loading game will be less. We can´t provide an exact loading time as it is heavily depending on several factors, such as
    - Hardware specifications -> the less performant your computer, the longer the loading time may take
    - Internet connection
    - Size of your Inventory
    - Utilization of your browser -> It is important to have the tab where the Unity/WebGL Client is loading in the focus, and do not change to other tab. Also, preferably do not have other websites open, especially not sites, which may take high CPU resources.

    How to report bugs/issues?
Find details in the Client Open Beta Bug Reports.
In short: first have a look if the bug is already reported by another player. If not: follow the instructions. We appreciate every bug report including all information.
What happens if Unity Web/GL client can´t be entered?
First stay calm! Try another browser and be patient. If nothing helps, add your data to this sheet: https://forms.gle/ZyQCdEHonQZJVuJM6 (see details below) It will help the Farmerama team to identify technical issues based on single cases.

And keep in mind: we will do everything in our power to migrate all Farmerama players to Unity. See announcement for details.
How will the collection of additional data take place?
It would be great if everyone can fulfil this small sheet:
    https://forms.gle/ZyQCdEHonQZJVuJM6
It will help the Farmerama team to identify technical issues based on single cases.
If you need assistance, here are some instructions:
    CPU:
Right-click your taskbar and select “Task Manager” or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch it. Click the “Performance” tab and select “CPU.” The name and speed of your computer's CPU appear here.

    GPU:
Open the Start menu on your PC, type "Device Manager," and press Enter. You should see an option near the top for Display Adapters. Click the drop-down arrow, and it should list the name of your GPU right there.

    GPU2:
    See GPU instruction

    Memory:
Open the Start menu, right-click on Computer and then click Properties. This should bring up a window with your computer's basic specs. Under System, you should see a line denoting your Installed Memory.

    Internet Speed:
The internet speed test measures the speed of your internet connection. Your connection speed includes things like download speed and upload speed. We recommend testing your internet speed using this speedtest: https://speed.measurementlab.net/#/
We are mainly interested in the download speed!
    How will feedback be collected?
First you can exchange your impression, opinion, and experience here in the forum. Here is a special thread which you can use: Unity Feedback Thread. Second, we will spread a survey by end of October in which you can rate the Unity/WebGL client. Details will follow later regarding the survey.
Did something change in the Unity WebGL version?
Yes indeed. The market has been reworked and Renzo’s Fun Fair is working – YAY, and there are smaller visual changes. The rest of the game works the same as in the Flash version but might feel a bit different.
    Are there known issues?
Yes, but those are neither breaking the game nor affecting the overall experience too much. The issues are mainly trivial ones and of course the team is continuously fixing existing but also new bugs.
You can see the most common issues here, the list will be updated regularly.
How long will the Open Beta run?
We didn't define a fixed end date. Mainly as we are of course working next to the Beta on fixing open issues and developing the upcoming events/sales. We will keep you posted regarding a potential end date.
    What about Events and Sales?
Season 9 isn't implemented in the Unity/WebGL client. (No Season EP is lost from rewards during an event, you will be able to see them when switching back to the Flash version).
All currently running Events and Sales are available. Right now, we plan all upcoming Events and Sales to run in both clients parallel. But please keep in mind that we develop all Events/Sales from scratch for the Unity/WebGL client so it might happen that implementation of an Event/Sale will be delayed or won't happen at all. Of course, we will update you in such cases via official announcement.
    Anything else?
Yes of course! We are grateful for your support!
