Question for a Mod

I have just read a post that said EP's have no effect on drop rates, however the experience I'm having on my farm is exactly the opposite. Can you please tell me what is correct??

This is what I am experiencing: For the last week or so my EP's have not been counted correctly, being much less than normal for each field. From the beginning of this Event, my drop rates have been abyssmal - the same as my EP's - getting only 1 - 10 (usually 3-5) drops per field instead of the normal drop rate of in the high 20's - 30's per harvest per field.
Some time after midnight last night both my EP's and drop rates started to improve. This morning they are almost back to normal, with the one being directly related to the other: the higher my EP's, the higher my drop rates.
This has been my normal experience for Events from way back. I have not had any difficulties with drop rates - always having an excess - till now - the same time that my EP's are giving me trouble.

Soooo - can you please tell me which is correct? Do EP's have no effect on drop rates as I just read? Or do they - as I have been experiencing??

Simply EP has no effect on the drop rate. The Game Team do not share their drop formula with us (it is a very well guarded secret). The Trophies increase the drop rate as does each Howie Donut turtle.

Please keep in mind that the trophies only affect the field they are placed on.

Thank you for your response. With much respect for your position (not arguing, just curious),I am puzzled at how that conclusion was formed if the Game Team does not share their formula and it is a 'very well guarded secret'?
I am aware of the trophies, Howie Donut, etc., and I do read the Event strategies. I have asked this question because, on my farm- and others, I have read - it does seem to have a direct bearing on the drop rate.
This is very puzzling to me. Would the Game Team confirm or deny the possibility? Without giving away their 'secret formula'?

 

That is the response given to the Administrators who are in direct contact with the Game Team daily, their formula will not be divulged.
