The (Elusive?) Gift & Trade

I've heard so much about this event (especially from Cavy!), that I must admit that I'm looking forward to it! Just think of the goodies that would so totally enhance the farming experience!!

Before I make my list of goodies (in hopes that it will jinx the system into possibly having this event), I'd like to know from the experts what items do you consider the most valuable for the game?

but I am not sure which are the most valuable items, I think the magical tree that gives you one drop for the current event
and by items do you also mean which pens or trees are the most valuable?

 

Yeah... If you were to make your most favorite list of items, what would they be?

Like I would love a Sugar XXL tree, a Salt XXL tree, a Phero, etc.

But I'm a newbie and don't really know which things are more valuable than others. Maybe a Red Truffle stable? Or a Pink Feather Station?

So, those of you who have been playing for longer would know what is the best thing to ask and trade for.

 

Valuable items are I believe all the pink pens(and production pens) and now very valuable are the pink or red and orange donkey pens
also I think that product trees are very valuable as they don't need animals or feed to produce a product(for example egg trees, cow milk trees, goat milk trees, honey trees and feather trees for Bahamarama)

There are certainly some rare stables that are valuable because their price is very high in the market but in the section I don't have much knowledge...

 

Any newly introduced trees or animals will be very sought after - but usually the last Secret Stable/Seedling items are not included. There are other things excluded such as pets - I forget what else now. I tried to find an old FAQ - if you can access the old forum, you could look it up.

It is a great event. We all get some Gift, Exchange and Merchant Licences. The Gift Licences are used to swap with farmers you know or have made a deal with, the Exchange Licences are for items that are put up for grabs from anyone (usually there are hundreds of pages of offers!) and Merchant Licences are for when you want to sell something back to the Store.

We all love this event. It has a great ambiance to it. Don't have them often enough!

 

I missed the last one I am so looking forward to the next, have collected some good things I am willing to trade For me, XXL bahamarama trees and some colored (production) pens is what I'll want most

It can definitely be tiresome looking through hundreds of pages to look for offers, and I know many don't do it for that reason. But you can find great deals there if you are patient

 

The Gift and Trade event need to be happen at least 2 times a year, if you miss the one you can get the other...
Last time I did some great exchanges and I got some rare pens and some other items that I needed by giving things that I had lots of!

One thing I do know, "what is best" changes as you go through the game. If you are working toward a particular step, it may not matter what is important 40 levels up. And, some people just like to "collect" things, even if they don't have a "true" absolute "value". That said, I, too am interested in what the better players think.

 

I agree that 'what is best' changes as you go through the game. I also found that getting milk, egg, goat milk trees was a great way to save space and increase productivity. Getting rare animal pens, butterfly, glow worm that were needed to complete specific quests was also a good way to start.
There are always good bargains to be had looking through the list of trades, but I had more success using my exchange licences to trade away any orange pens or XXL trees I have in order to target a goal to obtain a rare tree or pen that I don't have. I tend to find I don't have the items that are requested to get really 'valuable' items such as red or pink pens, but that's always something to aim for.

 

While there is an XXL upgrade for Salt trees, there isn't at present an XXL upgrade for Sugar trees. (Just so you aren't disappointed.)

Just to let you know, it's a scented tree that produces pheromones. So you know what to look for in the lists.

You can restrict the trade lists to things like Trees, Animal pens, Workshops or Deco items. This helps to narrow down the searches. Be forewarned that if an update is made while you are searching, your page changes may act funny. Items offered are for the most part put up in alpha order however the end of the lists may not be.

Merchant licenses are great for turning in some of the deco gift items for CCs. I think last time the Beach Club was a great profit maker in that regard.

With the newest quest, the truffle workshops will probably be in demand. Cookware workshops as well because the scrap metal used to make them is so rare.

I made the mistake and traded away decorations, that I found out (because I forgot) belong on a cloud row, that I got rewarded for events. Now I have grey clouds.

I was also excited for my first G&T but was crushed when I realized that at level 50ish that I didn't have much worth trading for.

I would say that it's more important to put all your energy into having as many Orange or higher breeding animal pens as possible before you get to level 70. When you start needing a million plus EP to level up all those orange/red high EP pens are going to be the key.

 

Hmmm... this may not be so elusive after all!

I have a couple of rent-a-friends, and one gave me 3 gift licenses today. Does this mean what I think it means??

 

Barter and Gift is a Great Event for High Level Farmers and Lower Level Farmers....Dont feel bad that you got nothing to trade...Just let you know there are some farmers are very happy to give you useful things that are surplus to requirements to these generous farmers...

Darling Daizy....Rent a Friend send you all kind of gifts on Daily Basis, including Licenses, it does this weather B and G Event is nearing or not or just Finished....If you have a Crazy Chicken Pet you double the amount of gifts from Rent a Friend to twice a day every 12 hours as I have one sitting in my shipwreck

Barter and Gift only comes twice or Once a Year....it is great to get hold of very hard items to get or Rare Items. But not everything is Tradable...

Yes it also helps you get items to fill in those grey clouds too
