What is the point of making things overly complicated, and that too at this time of the year? Seriously?

Meanwhile, somewhere, someone is giving their feedback:

"I don't understand what the problem is here : approx. 2500 animals, 10,000 tree fruits, a few times 10000 event plants and ZERO time with the family in the next few weeks...

Summary of sugar cane calla plants: approx. 100,000 needed (a little more)" ​

 

In addition to this being about 12 different events rolled into one, there will be a TEMPORARY tree with the chance to get a permanent tree. Same goes with the Temporary Cardinal nest. This will again cause confusion with players. Why? Not to mention, there are UPGRADES to the TEMPORARY tree that will all disappear after the event is over. All that effort for naught. Talk about stressing out for the holidays.

 

This looks awfully complicated and I spaced out halfway through the FAQ. Mad props to the good folks who wrote it!

It looks like you need a zillion event plants but then you need drops that you can't get from planting crops...? But there are some temporary trees and animals that you need to deliver? hopefully enough drops come from growing them.

realising this is multileveled, adding games together in an unintentional?? way of confusing whats needed
figuring out exactly what is needed to get by in this event
a whole lot of effort over the xmas period when ...lets be frank, playing this game will not be high on anyones agenda

you would have been much better off not combining these events and just running the one of them, that would require less effort and time spent on our pc's, been a light relief from the festivities and kept players interests in the game over the period.

with this event and the faqs are so boring and complicated I will be sitting it out! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Reminds me of the MM event with the temporary critter and trees. Personally, I will skip this as I just don't care enough to make the effort. Maybe this is all a test to see just how much players will tolerate before saying 'enough is enough'...

 

It appears the game developers do not care about our opinions/frustrations. Instead of easier enjoyable holiday events for very busy people, they chose to again make the event extremely difficult. The FAQ states Medium-Hard which should be changed to a realistic Extremely Difficult.

Happy Holidays to everyone, may stop playing this game again!!! At least skipping this disappointing event and just farming regular crops and ignore the "holiday" event. Just too hard to be relaxed and have fun.

Still the better of the farming games out there as far as graphics and variety but difficulty of requirements is steep.

 

I share the confusion and frustration with players who have already posted above.

I have tried to read the FAQ and the Strategy Discussion, but have no clue what I am supposed to do!

I am stumped (like a Korean Fir tree I guess!)

 

I did put up the temporary tree/kardinal, because they look cute. The event it self, way to many layers and way to complicated.
The event is a no go for me. And reading the previous answers, I'm not alone

I can not even see/get acces to the event it self, it does not show up. on any of the fields or in the usual spot.

Edit: He it shows up now. I was thinking, it is not the first time a set up like this was used, wen was the first time?

 

Took me a long time to find where to enter for the Mountain Pass.

You might have thought it would at least have a sign on it, like the North Pole!

 

MM had a similar event with temporary event critter/tree. Tree was on Baha and critter on MM.

 

Whilst I understand the above complaints, we do have a reaaaaaaly long time to do it, and while that leads to the tedium of growing the same stuff over and over and over... it also allows for, you know, life to happen, and for that I am grateful. Today was a day where I could spend some time and some bonuses and get ahead and so far I am really enjoying! So many different things to do, but none of them really crushing unless I make them. And the board game now has our choice of trivia or various puzzle games! REALLY enjoying that. I think that the long format for this is going to make it an actual favorite, rather than the game ender that many people seem to think it is. Also, you can do a LOT by just growing a little bit here and there and otherwise farming along. And the graphics, as always, are absolutely stellar. I am gunning for that Cardinal nest, IRL the cardinal is one of my fave birds so this is a must have! Happy Holidays to all!

 

I know this is a long event, but the drop rate is absolutely abysmal, especially given that drops are required to make progress. As a newer player without access to some of the better tricks to increase drops, I've tried everything I know short of outright buying them, and it still looks like it will take me the first week of the event just to get enough ornaments to fill the first box that requires them, let alone all the rest. It's extremely frustrating. There are a lot of nice things about this event, and it's a good cloud row so I'd like to finish it. And I'm not asking for it to be a piece of cake or anything but the drop rate could be twice what it is and it would still be a hard event to pull off!

I come back to Farmerama every year around Christmas to give Farmerama another chance and see what has changed.

It never fails to disappoint.

Players have been complaining about the same issues for a literal decade, players fall all over themselves to thank the developers for creating minor GUI fixes (like the Farm Wheel Spins) that should have been rolled out ages ago, and events continue to be cynical money grabs with ridiculous requirements to force players to pay their way.

If it was just the growing it wouldn't be so bad, we know it's a long event. But the drop rate is CRAZY broken. I don't even know how to use buffs or whatever to help that. It seems nothing works.

 

The drop rate is a joke.......and I'm not laughing

 

I just harvested an entire field of roses on comfort fields with 2 howie donuts and an additional 5% drop rate booster from a pet and got all off 10 -- 10! ornaments.

Seriously BP if you're listening at all this is NOT the way to get me to spend real money on the game. I usually don't mind spending a few dollars, but between the drop rate and the special event offer that only some players received, you won't be getting any more of my cash for the foreseeable future.

 

I share my frustration with other players about the drop rate.

I have upgraded the drop rate (apparently) on the Magical tree, used a 20% drop rate bonus, harvested long duration crops, event plants, trees, workshops, stables...

You name it, I've tried it, but still no success with Ornamental Balls.
I have candy canes coming out of my ears ...

The tasks are so imbalanced ... same with the number of Cardinal birds ... I have 4 stables so far ... just plodding along trying to complete the missions ...

It's becoming so repetitive ... :-(

 

I think the holiday graphics are really cute for this event, that coupled with the snow falling on our farms make it very festive. That's the positive.

This event is 3 weeks long and has very low drops so that we'll feel compelled to buy them, or buy BBs for them, or buy baskets etc. for 3 weeks instead of the 1 week that events usually last. I don't mind spending $ here and there in this game, and I often do, but when it's this blatant that we should do so since the event lasts so long and we can only move slowly through it, it takes away the fun and fairness of it. I do enjoy the concept of this event, and it's super cute, I just don't like the length of it, the very low drops, and I really have never enjoyed the temporary tree and stable concept. The one and only reason I'm participating in this event is because of the CR. It's a great CR with only a 23 hour cool down instead of the odd 30 hour cool down we often get.

Being that we have to move through this event so slowly due to the low drops of ball ornaments, I can't finish it quickly in order to get back to my regular farming and the many goals I'm working on, so it would've been nice if this had been on the event field instead of every single main field and every single baha field, which further ties our hands and was probably intentional to compel players to, as I said above, make many purchases to move ahead more quickly. I get that everyone needs to make $ in life, and BP is no exception, it's perfectly understandable, but this time around it feels somewhat forceful. And to do this for a holiday event ~ well in my opinion, the holidays are a time for the spirit of giving, not taking. Our $, time, energy, and effort are precious resources for many of us especially during the busy holidays.

(I've also noticed an uptick in the browser and data trackers since this event started even though my options are set not to allow that, which is another extra source of revenue for BP.)
