Whomever decided that deleted ALL threads past the first page shows no consideration or understandingfor how players use that forum! That you need to delete some threads, OK. HOW you did this and to delete so many threads with no warning at all is plain ridiculous. Several players, Ariehl, etc have spent a lot of time compiling useful strategies on varied topics that are CONSTANTLY coming up. We have asked for these threads to be stickied, but were told that "all strategies are equal". This was bad enough when they kept getting booted down as people posted new threads on events, various questions. NOW, to find that someone decided it was perfectly OK to just send all these threads to the archives, threads that have been accessed even just yesterday -- is plain ridiculous! This is not management, it is arbitrary ridiculousness. NOT all threads are equal. Just as the players if you cannot understand this. Old event strategies, simple questions that are immediately answered, etc, etc. are useless, though they keep appearing and bouncing the more longstanding threads. If you must do this, then at least allow us to select which threads you delete.. OR create a new forum for general threads, maybe one where players have to vote to send them.

You deleted threads people has just accessed only a few days ago, but left threads on closed events... this makes no sense and shows that the person doing this just plain either does not care or does not understand players in this game!
    BRING BACK our old threads!

Woody I am not sure If what I say it is true but I think every thread goes to the archive section after 30 days that no one has made a post. I think there are exceptions to that rule(like in the players introduction where all of the threads stay there forever). I agree with you that very important and useful threads from this section should have been opened and not closed, I believe strategy section must have been an exception of that rule too.

I think the mod team is not responsible for all these but the designers of this forum are(so I mean BigPoint). Do you know that each forum has some different rules from each other? An example: in the English forum we are not allowed to play games but in the German forum there is a section for games. Isn't that weird? Why can they play and we can't?
There are also some other differences I have noticed in the rules of the English, German and Greek forum.
I don't know what is happening in the other fora about this particular matter.

I have added my link to the Farmerama Guide in my siggy after my thread closed.

    Greetings woody,

Firstly, let me say that I understand your frustration, but when something upsets you, please stick to posting it in one place only, bringing up the same issue in so many places is not necessary - therefore I have moved your question here and address everything together. Thank you for your understanding on this matter, and please moderate your tone a little bit :( no one wanted to stir things up or cause a bad mood to be spread. After years of moderating the forum - none of us being new to the team - and watching the whole board for so long, it is a little bit hurtful to say we do not understand our community. Asking new threads to not be posted because all discussions are in danger is outrageous - As Arielh pointed out, the threads were not archived because they are on second page, they were archived because they were inactive for longer than 30 days. If a thread has no new posts for a month, it will be archived. Certainly nobody had a bad intention while doing this - so whomever "decided" to do this, was just doing their job. This has been happening since the beginning of Farmerama - the guidelines were the same for the old forum as well and it will not be changed, I am really sorry - so any idea of petitions or making us change our minds is not needed, because we follow the rules given and we will continue to do so.

The threads are just as helpful while being archived - eventually new threads will be opened and end up being archived as well. Linking the most useful ones is a good idea - but you can see for yourself for how long they have not been active. No warning is needed and nothing is deleted as explained - that's what the Archives sections are for. Threads to be saved and kept to be accessed later on.

When it comes to rules and guidelines, they are pretty much the same for all the language Forums - all I can say is that I respect all the language teams and I am completely sure that all of us do our best when it comes to getting our jobs done.

Things change quickly. If new players join the game now, they might need different advice than what was given a while ago - think about what a big impact small additions can have on a feature. If anyone seeks advice, I'm sure they will get it from all of you helpful lovely Farmers.

If you wish to create a thread with a list of helpful threads solely - both past ones, recent ones and upcoming ones, you are welcomed to do so and many players will appreciate it (leaving all the negativity and debates aside ;) ).

Thank you all for your understanding.
    Best regards,
    teddy.bear

First of all, as for the repeat, the first was query, not feedback. I did vent a tad, but quickly stated that I would take my complaints elsewhere, as we have always been instructed to do. I did post in both feedback threads, meant to delete one.. sorry on that, but this thread was not feedback at all. While I did say I was not happy in this thread, it was an attempt to deal with the problem, not to vent or complain about it. We have been told to keep feedback in the feedback thread, strategy here, etc and not to combine them. As such, I am slightly puzzled why you combined here, instead of in the feedback.. though since it was mainly the strategy forum impacted, most people will likely see it here.

As for my being incorrect... sorry, but you really should have verified before you stated that I was incorrect. When I first posted there were only 20 posts. That is why I posted into the general forum, because I thought there must be some error. If it had been just the older threads, I might not have been completely happy, but certainly would have understood. My complaint came because someone did indeed delete everything past page 1, without any regard to content. Some of those threads were only a few days old, but were moved to the archives! Do note that AFTER I posted my complaint, in feedback, and after I had I begun this thread (and before I had finished editing this thread) someone added several of the more significant threads, in fact several that I was seeking were brought back before I could link them, but that was not done when I first posted! I left the thread because even though some threads were brought back, not all were, and I thought others might have suggestions.

Also, though you now reference the "thirty day" rule, this has certainly not been anywhere near consistently applied in the 2 years I have been here. Though the posts were not technically deleted, they were dismissed in a manner that makes it exceedingly difficult to find threads. I had to weed through 20 pages of posts just to find the few links I posted... they were combined with announcements, chatter thread and various other types of threads.

    Hello woody,

I was hoping your tone would be slightly different but I see I was wrong, sadly. I tried to explain you kindly - but it leads nowhere, so all I can do is refer you to support.

You are right, I am puzzled about handling your complaint this way as well - I should have issued a ban for spamming and delete all but the question that was already answered ... But since I'm a softie and try to hope for the best in every situation, I tried to combine it in one place where it can be discussed by everyone who wants to have their input.

I did look into this matter - as I investigate each complaint we get. The most recent archived thread is from the 9th of July - and is not even a strategy thread. Also, the archives are not all mixed up, the announcements you mention to have skimmed through are not archived in the same category as the strategies, so please check again.

I have said it before and I will say it again - you all feel you can do a better job than the Mod Team, you know where you can apply and replace us.

Since the problem is no longer the action taken by the mod team, but about my reply as well - I am unable to handle a complaint that refers to my activity so our Customer Care Team is the one who can help you further - therefore the thread will now be closed.
    Best regards,
    teddy.bear
