I love Maine in fall sanddollar!:inlove: Did a couple of schooner trips also - one on the Margaret Todd which was so nice! So want to go back again! Thanks for the good wishes for us Florida folks.

Well, Washington state has been inundated with so many fires, our air is unhealthy to breathe, except for the west coast. Possibly some rain by Saturday, we haven't had any for 2 months, and temps in the 90,s to 100,s. We have the Australian firefighters just arrived yesterday. The army is also involved. The worst thing to happen though, was 3 firefighters died in the line of duty.

WOW we have several Floridians here, I'm Central FL. As of this morning it's predicted that Erika
may not survive the trip over the mountains of Hispaniola. Hoping for that as it's already been a rough week,
I had 2 large trees snap in half this week because the thunder storms are so strong.

Hope you get some rain soon dustydi1. Wish we could send some to you. So sorry for the loss of the firefighters.

acme, I'm right on the coast, Central Fl...I sure hope it does break apart, where we are any storm surge hurts us.
It has been a rough week here with thunder storms and the dreaded lighting. My yard is covered in branches from todays storm.

Stay safe y'all! Let's hope it falls apart and doesn't strengthen. We are supposed to have a few days without storms but the humidity is back in full force and the mosquitoes take a pint of blood every time I go outside. We likely won't see cooler weather till November or possibly December here, sometimes not at all. How many of you (in the US) can say you've gone Christmas caroling in shorts and flip-flops?

So sad about those firefighters; hope that rain comes for you dustydi1.

I'm just a bit west of Tallahassee acme - so currently on the northern edge of the forecast track. I'm more concerned for you and JJenks right now. We'll see how things look tomorrow, after the storm passes Puerto Rico and Hispaniola.

LDCrow - I know what you mean about the hungry mosquitoes, sometimes we joke they are the Florida state bird!:p

Edit: Saturday afternoon, storm now downgraded but we are in for a wet week. Break out the rain gear fellow Floridians, and watch out for local flooding!

Hi Willow, yes Fall is a great time in Maine, I bet those schooner trips were awesome! :) Some of the trees are just starting to show color, there is nothing like the trees all ablaze in yellows, oranges and reds! Mother nature sure knows how to paint!:inlove: And I love the apples and their cider and the pumpkin patches! I do have a spot in my heart for the folks in Florida! :)

Well autumn didn't start here:p Today was one of the warmest days of summer! It reached 35°C and now that it late in the evening it's still hot around 32°C.

After one of the wettest and coldest Augusts, today we woke up to sunshine and it was warm in the morning and we sat out in the sun for crib and lunch. Wonderful. Perhaps summer has arrived at last.
I wish we got lovely Autumn colours, we get a few but here in Cornwall the leaves usually get torn from the trees by the Autumn storms whilst they are still green!

I'm insanely jealous! I lived in New England for a very long time before moving back to Texas and I miss Fall the most. It's so beautiful and that lovely crisp feeling in the air. Sadly we have a heat index of 109 today here in the Gulf coast region with scattered downpours of rain followed by broiling sun.

I have a friend who also left New England and is living in Dallas and when I am up to the roof in snow they call me laughing BUT when it is Fall here, I do get the last laugh!;) I really love the changes in the seasons! :) So sorry about your heat index yuk! :)

In the UK it has turned decidedly cooler but after a dry summer we had quite a bit of rain a couple of weeks ago, so the grass is growing wonderfully & still green leaves on the trees, less flies... All in all my reindeer family love it... :) Babies getting fat and the girls getting ready for the rut are piling on the weight... love our weather at the moment!!! :) - Autumnal mornings and pleasant days... :)

From Monday until yesterday it was raining all the time! The rain was so much so we had a few problems with electricity but not serious disasters like in some other islands. Finally today is beautiful sunny and warm day...we got tired of all the thunders and lightnings!

Happy Full Moon Sunday to everyone! :) I woke up today around 5:00ish and found out it was a very chilly 32o! That is freezing point and I guess you can say the growing season here on the coast is about over:cry: I do still have leaf peeing to look forward too and pumpkins and apple cider and all the wonderful things that Fall brings!:inlove: I just am not ready to turn the heat on yet, so lots of layers to start the day!;) Happy Farming everyone and enjoy your day!:)

Frost on the pumpkins, sanddollar! :) Wish we had some pretty colored leaves to see in North Florida. At my home it is raining and 70 degrees - no complaints as it has been very dry lately.

After a fairly dissappointing summer with lots of rain, wind etc and not much sun, we seem to have hit it lucky now. A real Indian Summer day today. We went out for lunch and then sat in the gardens in full sun listening to a local brass band playing on a beautiful Victorian Band Stand. There were loads of people and we are glad we took our own chairs. A walk along the sea front and an Ice Cream finished off our day out. Now Hubby is watching his recorded Grand Prix whilst I catch up with the farm.

The leaves are a little slow to turn this year as for the past two weeks we were still in the low 80's in the day and mid 60's at night real bonus for Maine this time of year:) We need these cooler nights to help turn the leaves! :) We too could use some rain, enjoy your day willow :)

Spots and crow, I just was reading these posts and saw you all talking about your dogs being so afraid of the thunder. I don't know where you live but I'm in the USA and we have what is called a thunder shirt for dogs or cats. It works!!! It is a fabric shirt that straps tightly around the animal and boy it works. Have to try to put it on before most of the boomers. worth every penny. Good luck.

The last few days the weather is warm over 20ºC (68ºF) so I still continue to go swimming after school. The last tourists left in the beginning of October so now we are "alone" again... so I am alone in the beach too...
Does anyone want to join me?:p:music:
