Tractor Racing Strategy Thread

Less than 48 hours in, I am 15 steps (58 Turboline) on this farm and 9 steps (36 Turboline) on Chevrefeuille short of finishing Race 2 which is a tad under the daily requirement (if not using Bio-fuel/Camelina) but hopefully I will catch up and recoup a few through the day. I put out 10 Comfort Fields, zapping with a little Supergrow and Suzi's just because I have it and can build up enough Camelina to fill all fields with 1x1s if I have to, towards the end of the event.

I have put my Wonder Trees and Secret Stables out and crossed everything in anticipation!

 

I didn't buy a basket and have 1 magic tree. Using CAC, Spring wreath and Easter marmalade each day.
my main farm fields (half pens half crops) Baha all crops, Baha second field half trees half crops.
Using Turbolines only, I've just finished part one of Race 3.

A query, how is it possible to have multiple Magic trees when they are not tradeable ???

 

I think the magic trees were mystery seedlings at one point a few got a lot of them, most of us got only the one offered as prize in an event tho.

Farm Update: so far got 686 Turbolines with 100 Hours of This Event Remaining. I have no need to buy Event Baskets as I always complete events, as I am able to harvest my farm often whether i am at home or out.

Some of you is Struggling with Drops here is some pointers to Help Boost Turboline for this Event...

• Minimise Idle Time of your Farm, Harvest your Farm on Regular Basis
• Remember to Places your Animal and Crop Trophies before Harvesting your farms (only if Living Legend Rune not Unlocked !!)
• Use Howie Donuts if you have them
• Upgrade Animal and Crop Trophies up to 15% Each Which Helps you Boost Event Drops
• Use Tiki Timer Growing Island/Rain Forest Veg Crops (Bell Pepper is most Effective in Terms of Growing Time)
• Use Crop Refinements that have Most Effective on Water Refinements
• If not got Crop Refinements Try Grow your Longest Timed Crops that you currently have (Newbies)
• Continue to get Neighbours or Buddies to send you Turboline

If you are Behind The Average of Getting 206 Turboline Daily, You may have to use Supergrow to speedup growing Crops. If you have Supergrow Refinements on Certain Crops can use the Tactic to use Supergrow Cloud Row, White Innocents Buff, or as Last Resort Buy the Event Baskets.

Some times Try Get as Many Turboline by Growing any thing to your liking, but may need to Grow some Camelina and mill some Premium Bio Fuel

I grow some Camelina so i just grow few more to round it up so have enough just to make 4 Premium Bio Fuels since the End Event Exchange Values is pittance !!

I only got Two Magic Trees as they give 1 Event Drop Every 24 Hours. But if you work on Crop Refinements they give you more Drops than Magic Trees within 24 Hours...same goes to using Howie Donuts too !!!

Oh,Farmermolly22, I know what a tired brain mean.
You see the words but just can't read them thoroughly.
Sometimes I just skip a long post which I may read it again later if I remember !

 

Have just harvested ALL my fields of the event crop ... Had 107 turboline before i did this ...after i harvested them i had 144 turboline Five fields and all i got was **** 37 drops of turboline ****

I think this is a little PATHETIC for the amount of time i am spending on this event
When i have finished Race 2 ..am not doing ANYMORE ...i cannot sit up until one in the morning any more
Whatever i put in wont make it any different ...have tried every combination i can think of and that hasn't made the slightest bit of difference

 

Sorry to hear that Nellie. If you have definitely decided that you won't do any more, why not return to normal farming and work on your own projects. You may find that you get more drops that way. The event crop is only 6 hours so not a great drop giver anyway. I am trying an experiment, this farm is nearly all trees and my "baby" farm is nearly all animals - at the moment Chevrefeuille is in the lead. But I still might have to make some Premium Bio-fuel later - I'll just see how it goes.

I think a lot of farmers are getting better results from longer term crops but I only have the harvester so this would be far to "click" orientated for me hence my decisions of trees and animals.

Whatever you decide to do, I really hope you get better drops and can get some of those prizes if not all.

Edit: Just a thought, I may be missing something here but by milling the Bio-fuel, there is hardly any difference in the amount of Turboline required, is there? For the normal Bio-fuel, you need 11 Turboline to go three steps and not the normal 12 Turboline to go the same distance. For the Premium, you need 20 Turboline to go six steps as opposed to 24 Turboline in normal drops. Can anyone explain to me the advantages of milling the super fuel (remember I am numerically challenged!).

 

Have tried my highest crop Illy ..which is the carnation in all fields & Cactus in Bahamarama ...which generally gives good drops.. but they aren't in this event ...will see how it goes ...i don't want to give up ...but feel i am wasting my time and getting no where

There is no big advantage in milling bio fuel (normal or premium) illy. If you can get all the 1216 drops it is best not to mill any fuel at all. For those that can't get all the drops, they can get a bit further by milling fuel, but it is expensive. Growing 18k crops only saves you around 200 drops

 

That's what I thought Mir. It didn't occur to me when the initial figures were posted here that there was such a small difference between maximum and minimum drop requirements LOL!

 

I too am getting dismal drops. So I am using a combination of both strategies. I'm growing the longest crop time allows at night, usually raspberries, or barley and growing camelina during the day. That way I can mill fuel and use drops and fuel to advance since I won't get close to 1216 drops at the current drop rate.
Even the first day with my longest crops, rye and cactus, I only got 107 drops from all my fields combined.
I am just going to get as far as I can. Hopefully I'll get a full cloud row, which is my main objective anyway, and anything else will just be a bonus. I am open to any suggestions, or opinions of my strategy.

 

Finished first race & half way through the second one. Planted the mystery trees & got an XXL Medlar, my first one. Growed one round of event crops and stopped. Switched to roses for drops. Not sure if will get enough drops. But not going to give up. Try my best to maximise my drops.

If you mean the tulip that is called flower children, then no it's not that one.

And AFK expected till Sunday evening...

 

What is Tiki timer?

I have finished Race-1, 2 and almost 3 as well (20 more turbos needed to finish r-3). Wish I could get these 20 from gifts!
