@woody I don't drop my chicks unless they are in the red zone and then send a message that basically says "It appears that you are no longer playing. I'm sorry but I'll be deleting you from my roost to be able to help someone else. If you ever decide to return to the game I would be happy to help you in any way I can (but you may have a different mentor).
As far as the knowing what language they speak... you won't know unless they reply

@bonfrog You can just delete them from your roost and apply for another chick right away.

edit: oops forgot which farm I was on.... AKA AnnTAngel7

So my first Chick graduated this morning. I never received any communication from them but received daily Hi-bear gifts. xD
Now I understand why, I received an IGM from SYSTEM in Hungarian . Poor farmer didn't understand a word I was saying. :sleepy:
I sent them off with an artisan gift and instructions on how to use it....hopefully they will figure it out.
How are we supposed to know that they are a different language than us? I would be willing to translate and can get by slightly in a couple of languages but there should be some way of knowing.

I agree. The only way we can know is if they respond, then we can use a translate program. It would be nice if the system notified us what language our chicks know. I think the problem is that people who don't speak English may register here, so that there is no way for the system to know what language someone speaks.

I am less concerned with chicks not speaking and more concerned with mentors who don't speak the base language, unless the chicks are OK with that.

Wahoo! On a short break, so not been around much but this morning, on the day of my return home, I got the IGM saying I had been selected. I have chosen three chicks and wandered over here to see what I should do! Got a few ideas (and still not much time to do much). But it's a start! Off to send my IGMs and gifts to my babies! :D

Well it seems as if there are a lot of new mentors as I just got accepted as well. Funny I don't remember even applying. Not sure if I feel qualified enough to be a mentor I guess I'll just do my best. ;)

Clashstrummer, I feel the same way. I haven't played as long as some people and don't have the depth of knowledge that experience brings. Think of an elderly person, they have been around long enough to know things just from having been around that long.

I have been playing this Game almost Five Years.....I have not been able to be a Mentor for over two years i almost gave up hope on it. Suddenly during November i finally had an Option to Apply to Be a Mentor Took couple Weeks Finally Become a Mentor with Three Chickadee under my Belt Some of you are very lucky not to have waited as long as I have.

While i waited to become a Mentor i did lots of Refinements instead so it is finally nice to be a Mentor, But we still have Issues with Chickadees Many of Them Either Been Idle for some time or been Idle Recently or Cannot Understand English with more hassle using Translator

One of things you can at least do is send them Chickadee Daily Gifts Hoping they still login into this game the next day, if luck goes our way they fall in love with this game. Fingers Crossed ;)

You will do fine. The fact that you are appearing in the forums alone says you are a good learner and therefore will be able to help others, I would say.

Aside from that, the reality is that most chicks don't seem to want or understand that we can give help.

Lo and behold I became a mentor too today :D I really want to help but one chick is in the red zone and other 2 are going down too  Sent a message to all three and have not heard back so will delete red zone one and give the other two a little time. Congrats to all who have become mentor's, psst which looks like most of us ;) And to all the new chicks, enjoy the game and remember your mentor's are there to help you :inlove:

I would like to say that sometimes things happen, and Farmers have to be away from their Farm for a few days .
So with that being said , I have a question.

If you have a chic at level 27 who has faithfully sent Love points every day as well as a gift, Why would you delete them ?
yes I know that this neighbor's farm is very slow at leveling up, but the player played everyday up until real life issues caused a short break in playing.
I am asking this because one of my neighbor's has apparently been dropped ,
and is heart broken over this and thinks it is her fault.

I wish I had of never talked her into playing this game .

I'm so happy! :D I meant to ask Santa for a chick, but I was sick and didn't before it was too late. And when I saw so many others getting chicks, I figured it'd be a while longer still! But I got my wish anyway and became a mentor today after almost 2 years and having to reapply recently.

I looked back through my messages from my mentor, and saw that she sent me a code to give me some nice low level trees and sheds. It wasn't a published bonus code at the time, and I got the impression that it was available via the mentor system for good little curious chicks. I just tried the code, however, and it said "code not found." I figured it would say I couldn't use it if it were live and I was not eligible. Does anyone else know of a code to give to our little chicks? I was so excited when I got that code when I was little! :inlove:

trishap, some people drop you as soon as you flash red, they don't even wait a while. It happens, not her fault. She did nothing wrong, besides REAL LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A GAME.

There were 2 codes give out that expired just before Christmas. Would that be the ones? Other than that... no idea.

Per the inactive chick bit... its good to recognize that in a game like this, many people will play for just a short bit, seeing what the game is about and then leave. Of those who stay, only a few will ever do things like visit a forum or communicate much. I have heard that only about 1% of players at most ever go to a forum, for example. I have no idea what the ratio is for farmerama specifically, but I would definitely not take it personally if people don't respond.

hi all, when my chickadee responded in a different language, i just wrote down what they said on paper and googled it and google was most helpful to tell me the language and translation☺so i did the same to respond in their language its makes things a bit easier♥
