It would be very helpful if mentors were told the language of the chick they are mentoring. I realize that you have no control over the forum into which someone logs, but if there were at least an option for chicks to say what language(s) they write, it would help a great deal.

I have no problem using Google translate or any of the other programs, but that does not help if we don't know the language.

Along those lines, it would be nice if there were a kind of "Farmerama translation dictionary" somewhere that listed the terms used for specific items within each forum, perhaps even with a photo. Some things, like manure can be very easily misunderstood. Other things just don't translate well/may have very different names in different languages. I realize the team is extremely busy, but this would be a big help!

I agree woody, especially since I'm a native English speaker and know just enough of some languages to tell if that is it but not what it says.

Then again, a farmerama term translation dictionary might be something we users can do, at least when it comes to languages with their own forums. but.. maybe I should make that its own suggestion? (Have to wait to do that, though..don't want to be double posting).

I am having just the opposite problem. It's not with chicks but with a mentor. I had decided to start a new farm to refresh my memory about starting anew, not so easy but interesting. Anyhow I was just assigned a mentor and they are German, thank goodness for google translate. I only hope that I didn't offend anyone.

At least you don't really need help -- though of course you can get a new one if you need. My first mentor did not speak English and, when I asked a question just responded "I don't ask questions, I just give gifts". But the google translate bit is why I am thinking a farmerama dictionary would help. A lot of terms just don't translate well.

I agree a dictionary would be a great help, it would make communicating so much easier. So far it has been going good with my mentor, no communication but he gifts each day.
