Today is one of those perfect days - 78F - that you wish would never end - and the birds agree!!:music: They have been singing and tweeting their pleasure all day:inlove:!! Made me smile all day, too...:D

Lilacs blowing in the wind, Doves are in the backyard mulling about and we have full trees now with the greenest leaves ever! Tempuratures have been hubbering between 65 and 70 degrees. Sunny all day until the afternoon when rain rolls in for a hour or so washing everything clean, and then the Sun comes out again and dries everything off.
    Hugs to everyone! Happy Spring!

    8) BeingStella, elimeno, love love love to hear about your beautiful gardens!!!:inlove::inlove: You bring such lovely visions to mind!!
Lilacs are also a fav of mine, and I have a Lilac bush pruned into a small tree right outside my front door on the right side garden. Also have hydrangea, iris, daffodils, ferns, Lily of the Valley, daylilies, and astilbe in that garden. When the Lilac is in bloom, the scent is just heavenly! Add the Lily of the Valley scent, and I smile with every breath!
One year a cardinal nested in the Lilac!:D

On the left side of the front door is my beautiful soft pink 'Queen of Sweden' rose bush (a David Austin English rose), flanked by more iris. This rose was only supposed to grow to about 4 ft. tall...but it has grown to about 10 ft. tall!! My upstairs neighbor has it right outside her window! I do not know how that happened! I gave it a good start, with good fertilizer and frequent foliar feeding for the first year or two, but since then have pretty much neglected it...and it is on the east side, getting full sun only for the first half a day...o_O
Also grew some pink, and white, Bleeding hearts by the rose bush. The first year they were spectacular, but then succumbed to a fungus or something the white one had brought home from the nursery. I felt like crying...they were really outstandingly beautiful...as such flowers are. They soothe our eyes and touch our hearts....

elimeno, Nature is tough, and mulch is good....your veggies should make it. :) Let us know how they do??

Thank you for your advice:) Well the weather allows and when June comes it force the students to get out of their homes and go swimming:wuerg::p I just think sometimes the weather is our enemy during the exams. Who can focus when it gets 30 C and sees tourists enjoying their vacation? I will try to hold on and do my best and almost when June ends I will be free againxD

I chose to reply to you here so I won't spam the strategy thread.

Good luck Ariel. The exam season starts here this week so it's full on calming voice for me! Fortunately the weather is nice again so all the kids are outside revising (hopefully somewhere where 3G can't get to them!).

    8) Summer has come overnight, here in Massachusetts! One day it is too chilly to sit outside, even with a cup of coffee...and the very next day it reached 90+F!! A few days of this, and now it is back to the 70's (yes!! :)). Crazy weather the last yr. or two....

elimeno, did your veggies make it? 'How does your garden grow'?? :):)

Lily, are you sure you're in Massachusetts? It sounds like you've been on vacation for the past few weeks over here in the Netherlands.

After a few weeks of downpours almost daily, we are getting a few days with some sun. The flooding is pretty bad in spots, but nowhere near the flooding back in 1993. Smaller rivers have overflowed their banks, and the major rivers flowing through our twin cities are running really high. At this point we've had so much rain, even a light to medium rain starts the flooding all over again. Ugh!

EDIT: Oh no. More storms are coming. Flood warnings have been reissued. I am worried that all the standing water is going to let the mosquitos breed into horrific numbers. Oh....to have some of minglings bats here to gobble up those pesky things! LOL

(Ahemhemhem...errr...I have this nice little garden by my deck that would love to welcome some cousins of that red, red, luscious, juicy......what kind is it, by the way?? An everbearing? A June crop??) That Romaine looks good, too. (Can you tell I haven't had lunch yet - and it's time for supper?!)xD

Farmlily3....strawberry---reg hoping strawberry/like u get in the store...its amazing I got to it before the rabbits/raccoon/skunks. The Alaskan strawberries are about the size of your pinkie and yet so sweet and tasty. Cant wait for them to arrive. Well if nothing but the romaine grows, u are more than welcome...

MsTheaP, I hope you do ok...are u in a part that gets heavily flooded to the point of basement flooding/or evacs? u do want to be careful with mosquitoes with Zika

Well believe it or not...Amazon.com I live in New York and had discovered them when I went to Alaska in 2011...yes I have been thinking about them that long...they are wild strawberries. They grow really well along rocky beds, they are often seen in forest when they are trying to rejuvinate damamged woods due to fire or some other catastrophe, they do great in droughts. U pick them as they grow and just pop them into your mouth

PS...I have been wanting to grow purple carrots. Carrots I am a little nervous about...they seem so complex

But yummy! Those strawberries sound well worth growing!!:inlove:
As for the carrots...(my Grandmother would say, "Nothing ventured - nothing gained!").....so why not just have fun with them, and enjoy what you will learn...yes?
What a special trip that must have been - Alaska!:D
