hi all. i'm at the point to get serious about stockpiles.
i'm wondering what your comfort level amount is for - crops (by category if necessary), animals, tree fruit and trade stuff - (by area if necessary). anything and everything. what is the minimum amount you feel relaxed with?
    Karen :)

    Hi VereSmythe:)

I think it is different for everyone but what I have found is that the minimum you think you are comfortable with grows exponentially over timexD

I have a minimum of 1k of tree fruit and all animals. Crops are 3-5k minimum. Products are 200-500. Exceptions are crops and tree fruit that I would use for feeds or in the artisan village. These minimums allow me to be ready for an unexpected event requirement. However, over time, these amounts have grown.

I guess I prove Pnp's statement that stockpiling grows exponentially.:p

I started stockpiling after playing the game about a year; with my first goal to reach 1000 in crops. After reaching that goal, I pushed the bar to 2000 in crops and 50 -100 in animals.

Now beginning my fifth year with the game, I am working toward minimums of 5000 in crops, 500-1000 in animals, 500-1000 in trees and 100-200 in products. Many players have much higher levels in their barns, but this fits my style of play.

IMHO, pick a level of stock that seems achievable for you and work toward it. As you continue with the game, you will adjust your stockpile to fit your goals for the game.:) Best of luck to you!

Its hard to stockpile...unless its red bats than its easy...but the only way is when there is not an event unless u dedicate one piece of land to stockpiling. I buy the 100 seeds of everything under 4000cc's everyday...I may troll for bargains--although I am not lucky there--but if something is cheap I buy up as much as I can...thats the best way...For ex: I may buy 1000's of wheat today bc its cheap and not being used. trees are easy...just plant them....if u have a heads up on an event...another good time....hoped it helped

****right now a perfect example...the facts for the next event came out...you may want to start there...

Stockpiling was a long slow process for me. I started with the items I used the most. At this time I have over 10,000 of each crop except the new crops on Baha. I have over 1000 of each animal except the newest ones. Am working now on 10,000 of each tree fruit. The next project will be products. 1000 is my target. lol then guess I will chase Farmer Broke. Gonna have to take a few lessons there first tho.
I found that just trying to get one at a time to the target worked for me. It seemed like a long endless journey at the start but I am almost there. I also keep 1000 feed for each animal. Best of luck and happy farming!!

I have similar minimum amounts too. I try to have 10.000 of each crop, in bahamarama is easy for me to accomplish that because I don't have a lot of crops but in the farm it's more difficult especially for the crops which are needed in feed.
I try to have 1000 of each regular animal for the rare ones I don't have a goal. I don't have a minimum for tree fruits
because I usually have a lot of tree fruit without trying. My old minimum of products was 100 of each because I used to sell them so I didn't want to get below that in case they were required in an event. I have stopped selling products or selling anything at all lately(well except manure) so I don't have a minimum for products any more.

I have to have at least 7,000 of each crop in mainland. As you start to do crafting it's clear which ones you need more of, Someday I will use my carnations ;)xD I seemed to have plateaued with corn....I grow and grow and it just gets used up:eek::eek: Must be all that PF and other animal food. With Baha crops I like to hit 10,000 before I open another one. I recommend at least 2,000 of each tree bc you never know when there will be a new animal who uses tree fruit. ;) I don't like normal animals to get below 700 (and that is the VERY low side) rare animals I would like 500 of each but seriously, who has the room to do that??o_O This year my goal is to get into the habit of putting more workshops out.

I've been playing about 5 yrs now. Each year I've get a bit more stockpiled, I didn't really plan it, I just kept growing stuff inbetween events. Now when I get a new animal, plant or tree I make that a priority. I've just reached level 95 so now I'm growing laurel all the time. Don't fret about stock just keep growing!

I have 20k of all the crops that take under ten hours. The ones that take longer, I haven't stocked up yet. I don't even have any crop fields down at the moment.

    8) Welllllll....I guess I farm a little bit differently....;):)

After 4.5 years in this game, I decided to go for maximum CC's, the reason being that saving excess amounts (Imho!) aren't doing anything in my barn but getting rusty/dusty (unless you're going for the Top 1,000 Challenge), and when you have millions and millions you can hunt for bargains and buy whatever you need, events included. I keep minimal stocks in my barn when it comes to animals, usually only 100-200+/- each because they multiply so quickly, and sell, sell, sell the rest when the market is good. As for crops/trees, I buy the 100 as often as possible, and then, except for high CC crops/trees that aren't used for food such as Chequer or Wampee trees, which I sell off often, just forget them and let them accumulate till there are thousands - then I sell down to a few hundred...building them back up each day. I sell most of my products, with some exceptions that are needed, because I can always grow more, or buy them if need be. I also make/grow most of what I need, milling most of my feed, and growing things from trees like pheromones, eggs, milk, honey, sugar, salt, SG, SSG, TM, etc.

Because this style of farming has allowed me to build my farm into a pretty(very important for enjoyment) and CC-making machine, I'm not afraid to do like Broke and spend most all of it. A week or two ago I spent down to approx. 500,000(and have spent down to just a couple of thousand!)....now I'm almost back to 100,000,000 just from selling stock, products, and trees. Millions often fill the CC coffers overnight to greet me in the morning!!:music::inlove: And so this also accumulates till I see something I want/need...(or just get the urge to shoooppp, shoopp, shop!!LOL)xD When I went for my 10 Pink Dog Kennels(made 11), DavidB figured I had spent between 300-400,000,000. (Sheba Inu's were selling for over 20Million+ at that time, and 17 mil was a bargain!! But - it's a game...easy come, easy go!!)
To me, that's what this game is for - f-u-n - no stress, stress.o_O:D:inlove:

(So, elimeno, I have finally answered your question about the pink dogs!);)

This works for me, but it has taken time to build my farm to this point of self- sufficiency. Many different things work just as well, or better, for others...and all are equally good!! Just choose your own style! Make a plan. Decide on your goals.
    Happy farming all!!:D:D

    Hi VereSmythe

I have been Playing just Over 5 Years I am Certainly a Hoarder as i am also FOCD Farmer too. I am Crop Farmer Mainly. But I do have Healthy Stock of Fruits, Products,Animals, Animal Feeds, Artisan Crafts, Breeding Animals !!

On My Crop Farming Seeding First Page Every Crops is over 100,000 some of them 200,000 plus, Couple of them nearing 200K from 100K

I keep my Animal Stocks to couple Thousand except for Rare Animals that are not yet needed for Breeding. As Farmlily3 Pointed out Having Loads of CC does have Advantages to help make more CC just Like Broke Does. Most of it is Hard Grafting Actual Seeding and Harvesting. Just Buy and Sell when i can get Bargains or make a Huge Fortune :)

I did reach 500 Million Marker, But Spend Millions on Gigantica Express and some Market Buys lol Now Working Back to 500 Million CC :p

The Great thing about having lots of CC is that you can stock up your Barn without Growing Anything :)

    8) Thank you VereSmythe!:)

As you see from Mooboy's post, there are many ways to play this game very successfully!

flwrsndnc, decide on a goal (ex: grow crops; or animals/products; or both; or even be mostly a tree farmer: a good example of this is solo, as in his "200,000,000.." post. I learned from his example, too. Or even grow CC's!
**It's important to just make your own plan - and then go for it.** Of course you can add and subtract whatever you feel best as you go along.
Here's to your success!!:inlove: And lots of f-u-n making it!!:D
