This is Gabfest- supposedly we can discuss anything not related to farmerama!

I am on the fence about seaworld these days after seeing the documentary blackfish.
I think they are good and bad. They do good things but they are still out to make money and I don't particularly like anything that involves any animals in cages. Just my opinion. :)
A road trip to Hawaii...lol Sounds FUN! (although I think we'll need a plane or boat)
Hawaii is the only state I have not been too. I am dying to go there.
    Just say the word!! :inlove::D:)

Thanks Cylentlea...i worry when/where I post things....Well we can make it a huge chunk by driving...but yes I agree boat/plane will be
    necessary/

There are many states I havent been too that I would love too...I want to do the whole tourist road trip thing...see the worlds largest frying pan, etc/

I agree I am the fence too about Seaworld...but for so many years...even as an adult it would be the 1st place I wanted to go.

ALSO there is nothing better than going to Disney World w/o children. I havent done it in awhile but it was awesome....kids get tired/cranky/complain...ok I do those things too...but still its great w/o kids...loved it. My dad is in Florida so Lakeland, FL might be in our plans, of course the end of August when it is extremely hot...LOL

There is no need to worry, a quick look at the thread title and the first post should give you a good idea:
A little off topic happens easily and can be fun, but it is polite towards the person who started the thread not to let it go on for too long. If there is a lot to discuss one can always start a new thread, or in some cases continue a conversation ingame :)

There was intention to offend or lack manners. we will move the thread somewhere else. Feel free to join if u like.

There was a time when we had chat rooms. guess that wasn't popular...

    P.S.
I do feel Cylentlea...I seem to often post something or somewhere wrong...it can be frustrating for the person getting their hand slapped

Only when I take them for a walk. One wants to go one way, the other wants to go another way and my arms are stretched wide and they are digging in their heels. Its very comical lol

My most recent (7 yrs ago) was a black lab named Rosie and when she passed it hit me hard. Then a few months later the cat that had been my daughters, Smokie, tiny, beautiful markings, and a big character, passed that was just too much. I was already dealing with a deepening depression and that magnified it. But after yrs of trying diff meds, I am finally on one that works. Anyhow my daughter has since moved back to the area and had 3 dogs, 2 boxers and an english bulldog and 3 cats. Oh yeah, almost forgot the 2 grandkidsxDxD So when I babysit there is more than just the 2 kids to take care of. And I house/pet sit when they go away (which is more than I like sometimes but what are you going to do, right?) I have grown to think of them as my grandkids too. Mia was a boxer, 7 yrs old, and developed some type of spurs or something growing on her spine and she was having so much trouble walking and going out to the bathroom. Heartbreaking:(:( They finally had to let her go:cry::cry:Now poor Bubba (9yrs old) is also showing symptoms:( I can only imagine how Jessie feels. I apologize for this being a Debbie downer. I really enjoy and love looking at all the pics of everyones furry friends:D:D:inlove::inlove: elimeno, I laughed out loud at your pic with the glassesxDxD

Julie1013...I know how heartbreaking losing a furry child is/I had lost my labs in 2009 w/in 3 months...they were only 3 & 4. My Roxy was my best bud in the world. Zak had cancer so I did the humane thing. 3 months later Roxy from auto-immune...I blame the vaccines. BUT...i said nope, never, nada, not going to happen again that I would get dogs...2 weeks later I am driving to Massachusetts to p/u those 2 fatty beagles...they are litter mates. They are 7 now...but a lab still holds a place in my heart. Ex: throw a ball at the beagles,,,they (the word I put in got starred but that wasnt the way I intended it---I will use another one) turn their heads to the side & say, "uhh hey u gonna get that or what". A lab is already down the yard with it in its mouth barreling at you and u are praying she doesnt knock u over...AGAIN -.-. They have all been rescues so I know I at least gave them a home when I had them.

Now Inez...those glasses totally are her...this big, dopey lab. SHe is from Guiding eyes from the Blind...but give her some clown shoes, a nose and she is ready to go.

PS...listen mods...the word that was starred was not intended to be something other than it was; which is another word for "turn" where is my thesaurus...holding my desk up...yikes

Our beagle mix Popcorn (avatar) likes to chase the ball, but just once. She will bring it almost all the way back and then the fun begins. What she really enjoys most is carrying the ball and someone chasing her. After all these years, we occasionally get the ball from her to throw again but then tag begins and Popcorn is never 'it.' :pxD Great fun for the nieces and nephews but works better outside than inside;)

Mir, your comment in the link post about how you'd say bye bye and your dog came running made me laugh out loud.:D Reminded me of our first hound, Ben. We got him from a friend who needed to find a home for him. He was afraid of people (he'd been abused as a puppy, but not by our friend) and had never been in a house before (he lived in our friend's barn with the other hounds). When my husband called and told me he wanted to bring this dog home, I said uh-uh, no way, we already have one, don't need another. Of course, home he came:p. He was so intimidated when he got here, he wouldn't get out of his kennel box the first 3 days, but he finally decided we weren't going to hurt him, so in the house he came (we kept him in the garage the first few days to ease the stress of new surroundings, new dog, etc.). When we did bring him in, first thing he did was pee on the other dogo_OxDxD. He became our drive dog, every time we went somewhere Ben was with us. He seemed to think he should sit on the seat and I should sit on the floor, tho. Good thing we have bench seats in our trucks, or he just might have gotten his way, lol, because he was always on the seat between us. When we were getting ready to go somewhere, we'd let him out in the yard, and if he didn't come right away, we'd say "bye bye Bonedog!" and he'd beat us to the truck no matter how close we were when we said itxD. (We called him Bonedog because he was a Redbone. On days when he had attitude he was Bonehead;).) He would actually get offended if we left him home. We lost him and his son Moon both to cancer, about destroyed me. To this day I still call Ben the best dog I never wanted.

In the same spirit: My mother had started packing a suitcase for going away the next day. In the evening she couldn't find Bella. She'd found the safest place to sleep :p
