Thank-you farmer_broke, I am reading, and your words are vary soothe, you make it all into just part of the daily thing, harvest, offer, collect and never be still in any area.

sitt'in and waiting for next part.

 You been peeking in my rafters!!!!! eeek.:p

really thou, I get the watch, hit, take it home part, the know your market area part, I am just having issues with the what size lots to keep up.
I know the put it up or shut up thing, I have done my own tests, yep text note and all every time the CC's go up I dash over to market to see what went, <small scale you can see it as it sells....30+ at a time? I will take that challenge today> It's the lot thing I'm aiming to have XX lots up 24/7 so I can wake up and have a simple million more a day. I don't want the I will corner the market once a week and take 50 million home!!!! ..... yet.8)

But that is my goal, right now I would be happy with making daily CC to cover operating cost. IE: 5 product buying for daily eating to level up, the buying of refinement needs I read and lernt never have idle mill or refinements, but the basic operations are costly! If I could figure out base lots for market then I could see the million a day in the next step.

Now back to closing my eyes going to market and buying 5 artisan products to eat.....

EDIT as some don't know me, happy fluffly that I am, just ask 12ss12.... I check the market daily, I buy things I will use when cheap, I stock things when price is low <why having millions on hand gathering dust is a good thing> I try to buy things I use up daily as I am not all that great at it yet and building animals right now for neon maybe next is trying as it takes up every square in. on the farm....So with that, and other needs it will drive you mad finishing quests I'm struggling to keep 17 pages to do and not let it get bigger and them animals still want to eat!
I just hope PETA will not find my starving kiwi's!

yes, I can vouch for that, he is happy fluffy and likes hanging upside down. xD

I do not know how it struck to my mind - new bie, no bie chicken tiger & dragons. They just occurred in a flash. I do not know what broke thought about it. :p I was a little bit afraid after posting the post that he might feel bad. But he has not;)

Broke, you can send me all wilson you want to. I will place them at a stretch and harvest. Thank you in advance for it. We belong to the dragon clan you see and we welcome everything that is terrifying and spooky. :D

I too meddled with the breeding animal marketing. Bought several of some breeding animal for 50,000/- and sold for 155,000/- And did several other meddling marketing. Now I am not broke.;)

    I will share a little :)
I am preparing for HH and I need a lot of tree fruit. I have simply set a buy rate for how much I am willing to pay for it. Everything I find below that rate I buy. I often leave the very small listings even though the price is right. I hope someone will list and undercut the price so I can get more at or below my rate and not drive up prices. My buy rate is based on EV.

There are some tree fruits that I cannot get at my buy rate. Tree fruit needed in feed or fsq like Apples. I need Apples too and I don't grow any Apples myself, so I have to pay more for them. Apples go up and down in my mkt. but I never buy them above EV which is 60....not yet anyway. Sometimes they go high and I list and sell some of what I have bought - like playing lettuce. Earning a little doing that I kind of get the apples I need for myself a little cheaper than what I actually paid for them.

I will tell you that I put Toucan feed up to sell...it was a bomb. it stayed there forever. Yes frogs are selling...but so are frog pens...cheep at 10000 so for ex: why buy a a frog at 5000CC's when someone can buy a pen at 10000?

Thank you, broke. As usual you understood my questions without even me asking it. Just like that cuckoo question. It is not a specific thing that made me post it. My market prices are always low when compared with other markets. For instance, when I posted the post, manure sold around 299 CCs and 100 manures price started around 330 CCs. But in my other farms- for instance in my baby farm, the price started at 450 CCs. It is not just this one particular instance. But for several events I have been noticing this aspect. So just thought I may share my feelings and be off with it. I know one cannot change one's market. I too buy low and sell them for reasonable profits. Its just that price is always low when compared to other markets. But that may be due to the fact that there are many active marketing players in my market. So my market has lots of manipulators.;) I do manipulation only on moderate level. Players holding top rank in CCs are in this market too. There are always a list of players who offer 1000 units of sale- whatever item it may be. So the tough competition might be one of the reasons that determines the price. This is healthy aspect. So I should not complain. :p:)

Thanks once again for asking and troubling yourself for replying to our doubts. And also for sharing your knowledge with us through this thread.

If you want to make ccs on the frogs you buy and wish to list them at the chosen price of yours, you can clear to the price of 7380.10 - then you will only make 18.27 each on that last bought listing BUT you will keep the price high and increase the chances of your lot getting sold. Also depending of the size of the lot as you mention in post 46.

I have been playing frogs too. I have sold in lots of 100, 150 and 200 at various prices from 7777.77 - 9393.93. (I have a thing with repeating the same numbers in my pricing :p)

When frog rumor was out I was kinda broke and had to raise some ccs to buy the frogs I wanted to play. I managed to do so but was at the limit to where I could not buy many times. When I sold a lot I could buy again but then suddenly in like 5 hours mkt was flooding with frogs and price was down in 5k - over 150 listings and I still had 2 big lots not sold at around 8k! Now who would buy my frogs when they could get them at 5 or 6k?

I knew they would go nowhere and I was out of ccs - absolutely nothing I could do about it. A couple of days later I had ccs again but no way near what I actually needed to clear the mkt to a price where my lots would sell. And there was a chance that people would just list new frogs so I left them but did not remove them.

The difference between playing lettuce and frogs is obvious here - 1 lot of 150 frogs sold at 8787.87 is 1.3 M ccs on my account - if NOT sold it is around 130K down the drain payed for the mkt fee. (I do not remember the exact price of the listings I had at that time but somewhere around 8k is not far from it)

I did not have enough ccs to keep buying so I just had to take the loss. I did not and could not predict that mkt would be flooding with frogs at that exact time where I put my big lots of high priced frogs up - I did know it could happen though, but I took the chance.

After 6 days I still had my big lots listed and I was preparing myself for a longer neck - did not want to remove the lots myself. Fortunately I am not the only one messing with the mkt here and this time I was saved by somebody else clearing frogs including mine - someone holding a huge amount of ccs.

I still play frogs but a little more careful now - only list 1 big lot at a time.

    @elimeno

So now try and think about why your lot did not sell.

And remember the price of the 39k lettuce you just bought to get your own 100 lettuce sold. Do you think you can list them and make profit?
Can you use them for something else to make profit? Feed maybe.

Was it worth it buying thousands of lettuce to avoid a minor loss of 10% fee of 100 lettuce listed?

I don't know your mkt. But I know it was not easy learning to play lettuce and sometimes I lost. And I am happy about it - really! If had not lost and made mistakes then I would have had nothing to consider. Nothing to wonder about and I would have missed learning valuable knowledge about my mkt - about pricing and sizes of lots - days of the week and on and on and on. There is a lot to consider. Look at post 44.

First do u mean post 44 here....Farmer_Broke? If so I will read it again

No It was not worth buying 39000 heads of lettuce, this I know. I know Farmer_Broke has tried very hard to teach me the lettuce theory. I know market demands drive prices. I have learned something...that chickens sell. So I have sold chickens. I dont think lettuce works for me...dont know why. I am trying to sell frogs. I am usually one of those players who is done with the quest within a day. Mooboy was on awhile ago and his market was going crazy. Mine is not. there is no interest for carrots or even feed.

Yes a lot to consider...thank...BTW love your Avatar---Toothless is a fave in my house...that is toothless right?

    -.- Some markets bite.
ming farm has no goodies, so new missed out on 1st 3 neons. Thought to go into market, them critters cost when you have no stalls! so did the buying normal 1.08 to 2.10cc.
The highest my market gets is 6.09. Months of watching same players same Prices. New names comes in strong offers of 99999 then the mega sellers get on 5 pages of lots from 10 to 9,999. Same names, new blood comes back tries more offers megas band and do anther 5 pages of the same offers. I have bought lettuce here during bury the new guy at .10cc

My lettuce is shivering it's leaves off in terror to go in with an offer.
Not a waste I can make bunny feed if all fails, but please any words to spare here? No way do I have the cc to buy up any under me here and I don't have millions of heads to flood so where be the profit here what am I missing?

Yes F_B an excellent point...by choosing to ignore it u have actually made a choice. That works in many areas of life. Yes to another one of your questions...I did list some of it at a higher price than I bought it...we shall see BUT like you also mention...we have a frog breeding event coming up so who needs lettuce right now....NO SERIOUSLY DOES ANYONE NEED LETTUCE?xD...back to lettuce...I will see if what I put out sells. I will not buy the 20-30 post again just so mine sells...its challenging when one doesn't have a head for business actually for someone who doesn't live, breath it, nurture it...for those that do; it comes easier -.-...me I need frequent repetitions and slaps on the hand before I realize that yes fire is hot:sleepy:

farmer_broke, you are giving me a lot of insight. That 'expensive playing' is the only reliable thing I do. In them too I try to distinguish the level of craziness for that particular event for that month as that determines requirements and rate of sale.

Thank-you for your gray matter farmer_broke.
I thought there be a game in the game but walking away is the wisest thing. My lettuce is hiding now, thank goddess no expatriation date.
I have no issue letting it sit in the barn. Will have to look into snake food the next rune I will be opening.
After some animal growing I will start in another area, carrots may have some hope, but here it looks like animals :sleepy: on this market that will take some build up time. I will be going back to chickens for a while, monkeys and such take some time to stock.
Oh yes, I fill and work every quest I can them stars are needed in my barn not teasing me from afar.
64 more sloths and my bay lock will be gone, Last lock! Good thing with such low prices here I may get away with never growing crops! just need CC to make that path.
And thanks for the back pat, I think I know what I am doing I just need to take bigger steps.
