I am very happy to welcome this new future and really looking forward to get it but i almost feel guilty that i have a high level and
really healthy account with a lot on stock
with this ammount off stars 500 and the ammount off wood 6000 for an upgrade its not reasonable for a lot of players it is to much
so i feel sorry for those players

This new feature is exciting in concept but a little disappointing too. The initial resource requirement is rather expensive and to learn that all of the storage facilities will be 500 stars each is mind boggling. 1500 stars. Wow. The comment regarding that BP wanted to give long term and high level players a challenge seems muddled as only long term high level players will have the stars, breeding stock, and wood boards to upgrade. Some players have several thousand stars so there is no challenge to acquire the first one. The challenge is for players still unlocking runes on the tree. We have had a lot of events with no stars awarded. The amount of BB for the 2nd menagerie is high and I do hope BP considers including it in the half price shop sale. I love the idea but the limitation of only 4 slots to begin with and a maximum of 8 slots is disappointing. For the Arboretum, I hope BP creates more than 4 initial slots, otherwise what is the point? I think this is a great concept and with a little tweaking with requirements and number of slots, it could be a very attractive feature.

I can certainly understand that many are disappointed and find the price far too high. I was also when I saw the price and requirements for the quest. But after the initial shock I found I was not repelled. The cost might be (too?) high for the value, and it will be a long time until I can get all store houses and fully upgrade them! I currently have 500 stars and 13,000 wood boards. But, it'll be a new big long term goal to work on - which I find exciting. And the high cost will make me appreciate them all the more.

300 BB is not cheap (having it included in the half price shop sale would of course be great), but compared to 210/630 BB for a wonder tree/stable package (which I don't buy) it is not that bad. I'd rather spend BB on a permanent feature like this, than the newest tree/stable that'll loose value over time.

I think the concept is well thought out. It allows us to use more of our stables/workshops/trees without more clicks to harvest etc., and without more land to grow event crops on (which would again lead to higher event requirements). I find it good that the stalls/trees work just like normal with respect to buffs, harvest helpers and auto tree harvest. The (unavoidable) downside to the store houses is that we don't get to see the stables on our fields. So I hope we don't get too many of them in the end. It would be sad to pack all the stables, workshops and trees in there.

I am very glad to hear that the manufactory and aboretum upgrades will not require wood boards. I see absolutely no need for storehouses for wonder trees or stables. For items it would be much more interesting. For pets I'm not sure, many of them have bonuses that you want to activate at a specific time.

All in all I am actually quite happy

As a high level user (level 97), this does not seem to be a challenge - it is more of an insult - like ruining the backbone of the farm and starting all over. It may be doable, but at what cost to the farm?!
I appreciate a good challenge occasionally, but when they are constructive - and not with every event that comes along. Sometimes it is nice to just relax and enjoy building our farm...not seeing how far we can knock it down.
This is a place to relax from our sometimes demanding lives. Many of us think relaxing is a good thing! Can you think of 'challenges' to help us improve our farms?

I have to agree with most of the comments above. Please re-think what you are doing BP...and if you really want to make a profit, do it by volume of sales, not by gouging a few. This is a bad move for something that seemed so exciting, and was so looked forward to. At this rate and cost, it will set our farms back far more than it will add to them.

This is a really good idea and could be a real asset. Why let greed under the guise of 'a challenge' ruin a good thing?

 

I'm not a huge fan of the concept that this was supposed to be a challenge for high level players. Again, the biggest issue isn't the challenge. I can get the stars, and I can get the boards. My issue is that there's literally such a small amount of value from this item that it's not worth it. If I could put say 20 stables in it, then maybe it would even out.

Having said that, I need to remind others in the EN forums that "we" 90+ players are NOT high level players. This game has many level 200 players out there, and countless over 150. Given that it takes quite some time to level up, we aren't even close to being high level players. As such, what the dev team has released as a statement, was that this product is not for us.

 

You've been farming less than a year and you say that there are "many" players over level 200? How do you know this?

 

I like the Concept of New Menagerie as it is Aim for High Level Veteran Long Time Farmers. The Amount of Stars is not an Issue for Me. As i have always been sensible how i spend my stars.

I do think it is rather unfair to be asking 500 Stars to Unlock Menagerie. When Every Event will not be giving a reason about of Stars than can be Earned during an Event. It use to Average to Obtain 40 to 60 Stars per Event. Now on Average is down to 10 Stars per Event (Most of the Time).

The only other way to get Stars is by Doing Quests. But the Most Expensive Quests to Complete are Breeding Quests. If an Compromise Made on Number of Stars to unlock Menagerie of 500 Stars. But i need to Bring to Point about other Menageries for our Workshops and Trees. They too will be needing 500 Stars per Wisdom Rune. That is total of 1500 Stars.

Secondly is amount of Woods of 6,000 and 12,000 Woods. Even most High Level Farmers would hardly have that much woods in their Barn never mind the 500 Stars too.

Even if Farmers is willing to donate 18,000 Woods to Get Best Benefit of Menagerie. There is no woods left to make make any Animal Pens or Workshops. As I need to Point out that Frog Breeding Event is about to start, Where on Earth are we going to be able to Craft Coloured Frog Pens,or other Coloured Pens. With New Frog Breeding Quests already in Pipeline, Which will have a New Frog Production Workshop especially upgrades will require lots of woods.

All Neon Pens Crafted from Workshops has very high amount of woods. We have refinements of Woods on Crops but that percents is not going to make up for shortfall of woods. On Average we need 1200 woods to Make an Neon Pen. It Does take some considerable amount of time harvesting our Farms to Earn Woods even 1200 Woods never mind woods needed for Menageries

Thirdly we can obtain one Menageries using 500 Stars from Tree of Wisdom, and Obtain 2nd Menagerie from Stores for 299BB. It Helps if there is a Store Sale get it cheaper. But it does not help the Fact we need 18000 Woods to upgrade 1st Menagerie(500 Stars) so that we are able to Place up to 8 Pens into it. Does that mean we will be needing another 18000 Woods to Upgrade 2nd Menagerie from the Stores !!!

To me it does not seem to make any Sense to Obtain either Menagerie from Tree of Wisdom or from the Stores. If we compare Menagerie to Neon Pens which Give Us 5 Animals per Harvest which Generate 1 More Animal compared to Basic Menagerie

We Can Level Up Quicker than we use to be using Buffs and Farm House Orders, Pets and Cloud Rows for example we can reach level 80+ much sooner than we use to. But it does not help that Facts we cannot accumulate sufficient amounts of wood boards in that time. As we can level up with Less Harvest of our Farms, Less Harvest of Farms prevents us getting Sufficient Wood Boards. Events gives Less Stars no helping either.

Being a Level 150 to 200 Level Farmer does not mean there are rich in Stars and Woods. Me at Level 97 I have more Woods and Stars than Them. In Terms of Stars that i got i am Level 200 Stars Farmer. I have Comfortable amount of woods too. As i am Cautious Farmer how i spend my woods.

Suddenly Woods has now become most sort after Tools in this Game. Supply and Demand is now a New Game Changer !!!

 

A simple click of the "top 10 farmer" shows that the leader board is maxed out with level 200's.

 

500 stars /299BB's for each Menagerie ...is just too high of a cost to gain a place on one of my fields to hold 4 stables. Concept is okay, but the ratio value is totally unbalanced. I just took a quick look at purchasing 300BB's, and for me that equals almost $17.00. Come on BP...$17.00 for the opportunity to place only 4 stables into the Menagerie. That is more than $5.00 for EACH slot!!
I am not a poor person by any means and yes, each country is different...but I do understand what value is...and this isn't it. 500 stars....same thing....takes a LONG time to gain stars. A higher level challenge...are you saying this is more for those in the 200 level???

We NEED MORE land, not puny little buildings to place on our land!! I have hundreds of stalls, workshops and trees...how does this help us?????
When the storehouse was mentioned, I thought it would be much like the concept of the breeding barn
With that, we free up our land to grow crops and trees and animals.....However, we still NEED MORE LAND!!!!!!
I welcome a challenge, and I don't mind at all having to work for something(I do it in Real Life everyday)....BUT this is mind blowing

Re : and if you have a lot of everything, you can : magic glade for any type of fields depending on the necessity, green meadow for fields, ..., mainland for stables, ... &/ fields, trees disperse them, same for bananarama, for the 500 stars there's a lot of easy quests, or do the herbarium as you long as you want, the only problem with menagerie and the 2 others are only 8 slots, it must be like that : unlimited slots for each, after the 4th sloth you have to open it as they already decided, and if you want an all-opened slots, you must buy it for 299 or more bills, that's the best way

 

So after a unanimous disapproval from everyone in this thread, BP decided to stick with their initial plan of 500 stars ?

Sure seems like it, and after thinking about it some, I actually have some additional comments/thoughts. I feel the problem with this item isn't the BB cost. That's for people who have the BB's or financially support the game. Without them, the game wouldn't exist, so honestly, I think it's great that people who financially support the game can get an an extra menagerie after unlocking it (and by limiting it to one not providing any real advantage over those who currently cannot afford to buy BB's). Where the real travesty occurs is the initial cost to unlock the menagerie. 500 Stars is just ridiculous. Everyone should have access to the "new" item. It should be a reasonable 100 Stars or less. Compare this to the other two expansions, Bahamarama (50 stars) and Rain Forest (250 stars). We gained space able to fit 41 stables on each land, and the combined cost to add these 82 stables...300 stars. This is why people are outraged and upset with the initial cost. They can't even afford to try it out...

I'm fine with the upgrades costing so much, that portion to me is what gives higher level players a challenge, I get that, but why make the cost to obtain something with such a small gain, which could be so much fun for many players, so high that it turns people off from even trying to use the product?

Sure there will probably be a large number of people who spend the stars and get the new menagerie, but I can assure you for every one person who decides to actually purchase the menagerie for 500 stars there are many, many, many, many more who have decided to refrain from spending their stars. Which, interestingly enough stifles BB sales as I could potentially see many people who would open their wallet to get a second menagerie. Currently this product only caters to those who have massive amounts of saved stars and those who spend regularly on the game.

 

I am not sure if I understand you correctly Decree (the last paragraph that is), but you can pay 299 BB for a menagerie without spending any stars...

 

You are correct. I was under the impression that it needed to be unlocked first. I had checked to see if it was anywhere in the supply store as I figured it was a bit more of a special thing than just an upgrade which could be found in the regular stable store.
