8)Hi! Thanks Dutch! Please tell us more about your Fall...:)...Are your leaves still beautifully colored? Is it still relatively warm - or quite cool? It sounds like perfect Fall weather there!
How much snow do you get in the Winter?

    8) What a beautiful phrase, Dutch - 'a very soft Autumn'! How long do you think it will last before it snows??

You have no monsoon season ? I thought every region did. And all you have said are new to me. We have summer rains. Other than the monsoon season we don't have rains here. No snow falls. We are a tropical country, you see. In summer we get slight rains once or twice & exceptionally for few days. All other seasons, it doesn't rain. May be an odd rain here and there. Our monsoon season was declared to have started yesterday. We had night rains. But we are still waiting for the downpour. Then we will all be happy & our agriculture, drinking water, water storage etc. everything depends on monsoon.

Ah @12ss12 I think this is an English word thing - different meanings in different parts of world. To us in South Africa, we don't use the term monsoon here. Only for the east, I think, do we use the term monsoon.

Our country has different rainfall patterns. Winter rain in the west, summer rain in the east and north regions. Northern regions have lots of summer thunderstorms, my region (west) hardly has any thunderstorms.

We are bordered by 2 different oceans too - Atlantic to the west, Indian to the east.

We are also waiting for rain! Waiting and waiting. :(

AniE, As I said earlier monsoon gives us rains & ground water level raises due to it. We have to be dependent on it & the lakes, ponds and other water bodies for water. Our rivers are non-perennial. During monsoons we have few cyclones every year and that ensures our water for that year. What we are having now is North-East Monsoon. It gives rains to east coast states of India and Bangladesh. Our neighbouring states get south-west monsoon.

    &

dutchboy, we don't have snows here. I have never seen them. You get snows only in northern Indian states at the foot hills/ on the hill Himalayan States.

Here is the official website for hurricane matthew relief by the Govt. Just a preliminary help. May be you know it already, still in case......

For Haiti & for US -edit: link removed-

    8) Supermoon tonight, and into the morning, and also Monday night!! (US time - Nov. 14, 2016.)

It will be the biggest and brightest full moon in 68 years, and the next one won't be until 2034! October and December are also 'Supermoons', but November's will be the biggest/best.

It is called a 'Supermoon' when the full moon and perigee(its closest to earth) occur at the same time - so it can appear 14% larger and 30% brighter than when at apogee, its farthest point from earth.
    Happy moon watching!!

It's not fully the supermoon *yet* but it's nighttime here and wow, the moon is big and bright!

Our drought here continues but up north in the country there was an insane flash flood last week - 100 cars washed away.

Glad David is safe and that the causalities are minimum. How is elemeef and other NZ friends ? Has anyone any idea. Something in my mind says they are safe too.

    Hi MARLYMAR, Meesleepbeest,

My bookmarks got deleted accidentally. So I have to search for them once again. They are the official / Government websites announced by USA and Haiti Government. There is also an mobile application which helps you to contact or make application with regard to Hurricane Matthew. If you want I can send them to you as you wish. ;):) Shall I ?

    ***************
Cyclone brewing near our coast and it is likely to cross the coast tomorrow, early morning -Dec 2- with slight damages. So I feel we would be safe. The picture below was nice, so I thought to share it with you. My journey tomorrow commences after the crossing. I am excited about the journey.

Here is a look at the satellite animation of the Cyclone Nada cloud build-up from 8 am to 1 pm on November 30 in just 5 seconds.

Gosh, I don't think I'd be able to handle that cold! Here it never goes below 0 Celsius. 0 Celsius =32 F I think.
It is hot and windy here. The drought continues :( City has turned off the beach showers to save water, and it's peak holiday and summer season so lots of people on the beach.

    8)Woo Hoo Arielh!! Snow!!!

It's been snowing here all day, off & on! We're expecting 3-7 inches, which will slowly melt off. Snow flurries off and on for the next 3 days or so, with part sunshine in between. Not too bad. A lot of it will melt off. Temperatures at night down into the low 20'sF, then warming up in the 30'sF during the day. They are still planning fireworks for the new year.
