Would loooove to send you some of this snow!!

Yes, I know how - but I don't do them. There are always big fireworks shows all around this country, and on the TV/computer.
Do you have them there too??

The weather forecast predicted snow on Friday but then it moved it to Saturday. Tomorrow it may move it to Sunday and then it will say it won't snow at all... How I hate to get false hopes

 

Lily and Ariel, some of your snow made it to my house. It's snowing today! I live really close to the ocean, and we very rarely see any here, but there's actually snow on my palm trees right now. It's really pretty... send more, please.

 

Hahaha!! Yes, Arielh, that shark sculpture got to me too!! But it was just so creative I had to post it. I hope you get your snow this weekend!!

It is sooooo cold here now! The high temps. for today are 10-24F degrees!! I don't know how cold it got last night!!...And it was so pretty and sunshiney bright yesterday! (Still cold, though, but I stayed out in it for a bit getting some sun on my face, when I went to put my water jugs out to purify in the sun.)

And then......forgot to bring them in last night!! Yep - frozen solid this morning!! Fortunately, none of them burst.

But the ice in them was beautiful - bubbles in them that formed as the water turned to ice looked like someone had dropped a handful of small diamonds into the jugs and they were scattered and stopped in mid motion! Add the sparkle of light shining on them, and - oooo! Gorgeous!!


Wow, Poppy - snow on palm trees!! That does sound pretty! I'll see if I can find some pictures to share.....

It has started snowing here now...we are expecting 3-6 inches!!​

 

Today was supposed to be the first day of school for 2017 but because of snow school has been cancelled for today and for tomorrow!!! It depends on how long it lasts when we go to school again.
Greece is a country that it's not used in having snow. Streets are being shut down, we have power cuts and a lot problems like that.
In a lot of places of Greece it is snowing and in the islands near Skiathos (Skopelos and Alonnisos) have way more snow than us and they have the problems that follow it. Fortunately we have power and water...at least for now.

Snow is good but if there is no power supply and water then life becomes very difficult I guess.

 

Such excitement when it snows. Love your pictures. Was it sunny the next day like it is here. So pretty when it is.

 

Haha Lily no there are not a lot of people in the island during winter, these footprints should have been made by a few people.
I won't have school for all this week because of snow
Today we had way more snow than yesterday. I have took a few more pictures and you can see the difference with the first ones I posted. I even made a snowman with my family

Oh, Arielh! What grrrreat photos!! You really did get more snow!! LOL!! Especially liked the one where you caught the big snowflakes falling - the photo that has the statue standing under the flag - makes me want to catch the snowflakes on my tongue!! Hahaha!

Well, hopy14, life could also be fun instead - like camping out...the challenge of being self-sufficient, and still relaxed and comfortable! You have said you are young, so now is the best time to learn how to do for yourself! Once you learn 'life skills' you can be comfortable and happy whatever happens!!
It sure makes life an exciting adventure!!

Lol - thanks to my Dad for teaching me a lot. He was an Eagle Scout when he was growing up....and I had no brothers, so he taught me instead. I loved learning things from my Dad. He was so patient, and (as many Dad's do..) he seemed to know everything!!

I think you'll enjoy learning those 'life skills', hopy14...and they give you a feeling of self confidence and self reliance, too, plus it is f-u-n to know how to do them once you have tried them out! Knowing how to find water, find food that's edible, how to make a shelter, keep warm, etc., etc., prepares you to survive whatever comes.

May you learn well, hopy14! And have fun. too!!

Today the sun came again and it started melting the snow and of course my snowman too​

Arielh,OMG !! It's a big one.I'm only able to build little ones(baby snowmans)
Farmlily,I have never camped in a forest.Mostly,I don't used to go when we had a tour from school.

 

That's interesting, hopy14. Quite a few people can be hesitant about doing something with which they are not familiar. It's called 'fear of the unknown', and people can have it for a lot of other things besides camping. Have you thought about trying camping in your backyard? That can be fun, and a real adventure if you have family or a friend or two to camp overnight with you!
Then - after getting used to the camping adventure, maybe you'd like to try it later with a group?
Rustic Cabin camping-as in some USA National Parks/Forests - is also great fun! Renting a log cabin is one of my favorites! It's like roughing it, but with some of the comforts of home...but also like going back in time to pioneer days, when people lived close to nature. And if it has a fireplace....bring on the hot chocolate and marshmallows!!Going to sleep to the scents and the music of a softly crackling, popping remnant of a dying fire is so soothing and relaxing....it's quite an experience, especially if that quiet music is accompanied by the wonderful smells of a woodland forest!!
You won't believe how good and mentally refreshed you'll feel when you wake up in the morning!!

This is just a tiny sample of what's out there......the variety is almost endless - so it never gets boring.
Once you become more comfortable with being out in Nature....there will be no stopping you!! LOL! Adventure awaits!!
