I am offended by the premise of this "Hostile Takeover" game, and will not be playing it. (The name pretty much says it all.) It is based on dishonesty/stealing/ 'cheating', and that is not something that the children who also play this game should be taught is o.k. or even 'fun'. And saying "It's just a 'game'" doesn't wash, as it has been proven that games have a 'programming' effect on our brains - even adults.
So - no, thank you. Count me and all my baby farms o-u-t.

 

Event FAQ states that whenever you click on a building the weasel appears and charges you rent thereby putting you into the game so if you are not doing this event you should probably get your mills maxed out because it is a long event (March 30-April 5). Also, is the Daily Log In bonus considered a building since Fuzzles is in a room but he has not yet moved to his new building that is still under construction.

I am not sure what starts the weasel because the Farm Wheel gave me -400 for this farm but my other farm is at -800 and I did not click on any buildings.

I also don't want my inventory to be stolen from my farms.

I'm actually hoping this event is an April Fools' Joke and that there will be no event. I would like to get the Palladium stables offered for a chance at the new Bison but I just put my farms back and am getting tired of tearing them up. I also used all my HHC's on the 1st event and was unable to do the 2nd (not enough drops) even though I used SG.

UPDATE: I was not going to do this event because I needed to catch up on some rest so I started by just doing the comfort fields on my 2 Baha fields so that I could get a couple prizes (CR EP and maybe stables and/or trees). After a couple of days things were going well with drops so I decided to try to finish it and was able to do so. I got the CR and Palladium Stables that I wanted and also made some money selling manure along the way.

I have harvested one of my Palladium Stables and it is a Bison.

It is rated Medium and Level 6 entry. It is hard to remember what it was like at Level 6 (what fields are open and what crops/pens, etc. you have) but I think it was probably rated correctly if drops for event crops were sufficient.

Also I liked the Police Call Box and would have liked it if it were given as an extra EP to place on our fields permanently.

 

If I've understood this right, it only makes jewels go negative. Therefore you need even more than the 1000 drops required. Given recent drop rates this seems unlikely to happen. And growing 18750 of one plant ! Not an event for me thanks.

 

First impression: I agree with all what is said about the event idea itself. Cheating, betraying, theft etc.. NOBODY needs that!
Login issues as with all other events in the last weeks and months, as BP seems not to learn, that event starts PLUS new inventions (Premium villa reintroduction) is NOT a good idea.
Germany still can't see event timer, so no drops etc). They are loosing out again, so to be fair to them the event should again be prolongued. I have not counted, how often this was happening already in 2017.
(I didn't get any drop from magical glade from a full field with 20h trees. Another glitch! EDIT: sorted the magical glade issue)
Therefore: First impression is DESASTER

Hope BP will somehow get it fixed, so that gamers can enjoy events again.

I will post my second and third impressions after the event has run for a while.

 

Alarmed and upset by the concept behind this event. Shocked to see a negative balance in gems before I really had look at the requirements for the event. Hostile is the right word for my feeling towards it. Also I abhor, cheats steeling and debt, this is quite upsetting and might not farm at all until this ridiculous event is over. I feel really strongly that this is ill thought out and distressing!

ETA, I can't even ignore it and its frankly upsetting to see every action result in even more "debt" real or imaginary. "only a game" just crossed a line

 

I'm not a fan of the negative balance counter. It makes me not want to click on anything, but I need to use my buildings. Ugh. I know it's a joke and it means nothing, but it's still bugs me. It would be nice if we had the option to remove that counter. I just closed the upper toolbar so I don't have to look at it.
I'm all for fun and joking around, but this "you can't win" prank isn't fun or funny, just sort of frustrating.

 

I just collected 3 fields of trapflowers and I got 11 diamonds! Is this real? 1000 diamonds need it!! what a joke.

 

It doesn't stress me at all, this negative or cheating weasel but a particularly weak April Fool compared to the fun we have had in years gone by, I am struggling to find it even vaguely funny...
We have had our fields flooded or even nuked, now that was funny, Frustrating BUT a lot of fun.... This one is to say the least boring! Sorry.

 

Maybe I have lost my sense of humor, at least for this game, but I don't find this game fun. If drops are as described in strategy -- low, then this will be another event I won't finish.

I have given this game several years. Thanks for killing my interest!

 

In order to collect enough of the two items to make in the mill is SO high that this is yet another event that will not be fun at all for just about anyone except those that drop a large amount of money.
1000 diamonds and on day 1 on got 26 so there is not enough drops to achieve getting the needed 1000
18250 "flowers" - a 6 hour crop is good but impossible to obtain that many in the time for the event.

Yet another "Pass" on an event. Too many lately are just not worth the effort at all.

The counter? Who cares- just another thing to make you madder at the lack of drops/time to finish an event.

 

Too much of everything required to even get started. A 6 hour crop sucks, especially when you need so many. I'll be passing on this event.

 

I agree with so many of the comments above, but knowing that everything said, the counters and the 'you can't win' game is all an April Fool's joke, I do get it and I'm sorry I do think it is a little bit funny. When I was first reading I was getting pretty heated then the April Fools come up, I giggled at myself I have never known any other April Fool's day joke to compare it to, sounds like I might have missed a good time. As for the 'you can't win' game; in all reality, you win every time you play because you are given an award (some of them are pretty good too).
However; on the note of our children playing here? I TOTALLY get that!! I have children here.
I believe this event would have been better received if some things would have been tweaked.
For instance:

• 1) Title
• what is wrong...
• It sounds violent and scary in the world we live in today. A better-suited one could have been used.
• Something like...
• a) The Weasel Landlord
• b) Weasel ConArt (last name) ist - Weasel ConArt ist or first and last name only Weasel Con-Artist
• c) or just simply The Weasel

• 2) Main graphic of Weasel
• what is wrong...
• a) the weasel's hand can be perceived as being held like a gun.
• something better...
• having placed a fake deed to the farm in his hand

• 3) Event Tracker
• what is wrong...
• to some, it would appear everything
• something different...
• a)having the counter set high and as you played along it would be going down
• b)having a police car on the ticker and as you progress the cop car would be speeding forward getting closer and closer to catching that cheating Weasel_____________
• Crime Don't Pay

A special reward for us...
Add the cop car and leave the progress tracker going up in debt and after the cops arrest Mr. Weasel (end of event) we are given CCs in the amount that the weasel was able to con us out of with the rent he was charging us.
For those that could not finish the event; they are rewarded all or half of what they were conned out of.

I am asking you farms out there; if these changes would have been how you orignally seen this event, would you have gotten as upset?

It is still very early in the event. So, let's see how it goes.
The weasels should be a little bigger. It's way to easy to SG (or something) the surrounding fields instead of paying the weasel.

 

Dear BP or whoever now owns BP, you are running this game like a business. You're surely taking the "fun", out of the game. What made this game fun was "playing it", not working it. When people enjoy what they are doing they will gladly (I believe) pay for the enjoyment. Based on the comments and it affects me too, I'm a 5 year player, I play with time, money and established friendships. At the rate the game is going as soon as I can reduce my FOCD, and it is happening, I will leave. It is a shame, up until you bought it last year I really, really enjoyed it, hence 5 years and counting.

You need to get the creators of Farmerama back, they may not have made all of the correct visual, technical and procedural process correct, but they made a "fun game" that people enjoyed and played for years.

 

On the farm tools bar they have added Open Farm Restore. What EXACTLY does this mean ?

 

Those are really good ideas, FruitloopGrove, and they most likely would have made the game better....

but, sorry - they wouldn't change the basic premise of the game: Dishonesty, cheating, greedy, stealing, criminal behavior...the weasel even looks dishonest, criminal:...hand being perceived as holding a gun...fake deed...even as you said..."the weasel was able to con us out of..." etc.
and that basic premise is what will affect the subconcious mind, especially of children. It is just a plain, proven, psychological fact.
So, which one of these words/concepts do we want our children to have programmed into their subconscious experience, through a 'game'??.....Dishonesty? Cheating? Greedy? Criminal behavior? Gun? Fake? Stealing? Con?
It works on adults, too, but we're so used to it in this world that we never even realize it.

 

I agree with everybody here. Just not funny or fun anymore.

 

I am not bothered by the theme of the event, but I am getting tired of these events in which the crop and drop requirements are so high to mill the required items. 750 flowers per milled item? That seems unreasonably high.

 

I totally get it. You are so right. There is enough of all that in the world, why have it added unnecessarily. However; when these type of thing arise I do use them as a teachable time. To either teach my children 1) that this behavior is unacceptable and the reasons why and 2) for them to be aware of this type of behavior, it is all too real and use examples from current life (in this case) such as the people calling us posing as the IRS or calling our elders and telling them that their loved ones have been locked up and they should send money for their release. SHM there is so many examples. It's a sad world we live in and when we play our games it would be nice not to have negativities added.
