Found another trick to avoid incurring the negative effects , least for now . If you need to buff , avoid the Barn . I went to Artisan Village and thru the buildings to eat the buffs and it didn`t effect the counter . Might change . Happy Farming everyone .

How to visit your buildings without paying rent to the greedy weasel:

    1) Water tower: access from red basket in the menu (the harvester icon).
    2) Farm house: click on your crest.
    3) Animal breeding: access from the field icon in the menu (the heart icon).
    4) Barn: keep track of the content of your barn by visiting the market and choosing the menu 'make offer'.
    5) Mill (davidb1yth007's tip): Give one of the small weasels nothing when they ask for jewels. This confuses them and gives you a free trip to the mill.

I don' know if the negative diamonds are important or not, but I find it funny to cheat the greedy weasel xD

my market is the same 12ss12 and I have a question I hear a lot of ppl talk about planting refined roses but when I tried it , it didn't give me good drops so I just use refined carnations why does everyone swear buy refined roses then???

I don't think we need to avoid anything at all. The negative bar means nothing as far as I am aware. It's just a visual April Fools joke - which to be honest is lame, you will see your diamonds are what you collect..

I really disliked the counter at first, but seeing all the strategies for trying to outwit the weasel and sneak into the buildings has been the funnest part of the event so far for me. My counter is at -900. I'm hoping not to drop any lower, just for fun- as an added challenge.
I did discover that I don't need to avoid the farmhouse. It doesn't charge you at all. Good thing, because I'm trying to get my carnation refinements. I got the early bloomer this morning :inlove:
I wonder if this is it for April Fools Day, or if tomorrow we will find our fields underwater, under attack by aliens and explosions. It's happened before:music:

Sorry for yet another long winded post...

Thanks all for mentioning the problem with the logins yesterday. I’ve been having problems and thought it might be my puter again. Remember when we used to have major problems logging into this game? I’ve also had the problem with the manure market going back a couple of months it does that at the beginning of an event. Thanks for the memories too. I was trying to remember the past Apr Fool’s events but… It's either chemo or old age...

Belllllllaaaaaaaaaaa… (sorta like Stellllaaaa… lol) I thought I was current on all my vaccines. My HMO is big on vaccines. I’ll ask my doc next time I see her about that sanity vaccine. Maybe she thinks I’m already immune. ;)

I’ve milled 8 (8*40=320) event products so far plus misc drops. We need 25 products. I figure if I can make 5 a day, excellent. I grew carnations last night. Right now it’s the lack of event crops holding me back. For this event you need to AVERAGE at least 167 drops per day. I’m aiming for 200 / day. I’m in really good shape to finish this event.

First of all… anyone that manages to finish events by getting enough drops… could you please stop with the negativity. Please stop complaining about a NONproblem. Complaining about drops is not going to improve them. The goal is NOT to finish the game the first day of an event. The goal IS to finish the event during the time given, usually 6 days, and not abandon RL. Experts will tell you all that negativity is bad for your brain and for those around you. If you have a question… please ask.

To get the most out of drop rate involves TIME MANAGEMENT. In the previous event thread decree describes how to reduce the maturation time of raspberries by 52% w/o the need to spend RM. I frequently plant “refined” carnations w/ water reducing the time from 18:54 to 13:01h. A 32% time reduction. If I harvest on time I get ROUGHLY one-third more drops per day than if I hadn’t used that strategy. I usually make a mental note of the time to harvest and try to get back to the puter 5 min earlier.

Keep in mind that if you plant an 18:54h crop and harvest at 18:54h you get the same number of drops as harvesting at 13:01h, it just took you longer than it needed to. So instead of getting slightly more than one harvest per day I get almost 2 harvests per day. If I use the hedgehog CR I easily get 2 harvests per day of carnations. If you use decree’s suggestion you will get ROUGHLY TWICE AS MANY DROPS IN ONE DAY than if you had not used any buffs on the crop. But… YOU HAVE TO HARVEST AS SOON AS THE CROP IS READY.

    Decree’s suggestion:
If you add manure you can get three harvests of raspberries a day. Based on these numbers I say raspberries is better for drops than roses. Or one can harvest 3 rounds of 7h event crops w/ water @4:48h and still fit in a round of raspberries at night. But I don’t have time for that so… I don’t. Right now I’m using 12h coupons so I only have time to harvest the overnight crop and 2 rounds of watered event crops. No stress.

Thinking of drops as PER CROP is an exercise in futility. It works far better to think of drops as an AVERAGE per day with the goal of increasing that average. When the elapsed time shows 108h remaining and you already have 300 drops for this event, you’re in good shape AS LONG AS YOU KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’VE BEEN DOING. For instance if you decide not to harvest your crops for a whole day… you will miss out on an entire day of drops.

Aside from the first two rounds of starter crops I rarely use manure on event crops. IMO the short time of event crops does not justify the CC expense. But it’s imaginary money so… not a big deal. The event crop w/ water is 4:48. When I have it planted I set my alarm / timer 5 min earlier, 4:43h. That is when you need to jump out of bed, excuse yourself from family gatherings / corporate meetings and go to your puter and login. I refuse to be a slave to the game, besides I don’t have trouble finishing events, so I let it sit for half an hour or whatever. I’m not going to stress about a game. I also plant long crops, “refined” carnations w/ water, at night so I can rest and not bother with this game.

If one wants to finish events by getting drops it is necessary to have your own “arsenal” of regular crops in the refinery, utilize buffs, and record the times. So when you want to sleep through the night w/o 2a feeding of stupid event crops you know what to plant that will be ready when you want to wake up. Much better for your health. Or for when you want to not get fired for walking out of a meeting to harvest event crops, you can grow regular crops as fits your schedule.

No one crop is better than another. The difference is how it fits into one’s schedule. I prefer to login as infrequently as possible to harvest. Others enjoy more logins.

Roses v carnations: Red roses have the highest EP/hr of any crop (I have not bothered to calculate the newest ones. Plus all of my paper notes were damaged in the fire.) So if you want more EP and like the times from roses, use roses. Just don’t let them sit after they are “ripe”. Otherwise grow something else that works better for you. I used to grow them a lot, for the EP, before I got to carnations and level 90.

If you are having trouble with event drops then read the thread in the follow link. If you’ve already read it, read it again. Then read up on refinements.

Think I'm doing alright with the drops, averaging close to 170 per 24-hour timeframe. I only have 2 fields growing event crops as the drops from them are really low - 6 or 7 per harvest (using 1x1 with CaC and water) but if by the last 48 hours I see myself running out of time to grow event crops, I'll transform another field to make up the rest. I'll only start milling the bags in another day or so, have a few feeds running at the moment.

I'm at -400 to Gree D. Weasel, all of which happened because on the first day I thought accessing the mill from Baha would not incur the negative balance :p and on the second day I honestly forgot about it xD. Trying to keep it at -400 but as people have mentioned, it really doesn't influence anything in the game, you still have all the diamonds needed to mill your products, I just don't like having that 'minus' on the top bar... :p

Good luck everyone! Hope we all are able to take this one to the very end.

You should not only have refined roses but also you should activate them. If you want to get the refinements of the crops, you have to activate them in 'Plant Refinery' of the Green House. Also carnation always give you much better drop than roses as its growing time is higher. You can use refined roses if your time is less. If you have enough time, carnation is best. Refined carnation (that is refinement of water & manure) takes around 11.30 hrs to grow without the cloud row for flowers. So you can put that as overnight crops to get more drops. But you must have the refinements active.

Does this clarify your doubt ? or is it something else ?

I am in 11/25 in the event. How are others faring ?

    I am now -13,300. :DxD

12ss12 you are my Lucky Poster... :D Just read your post, went to check my Carnations in the refinery, and Lo and Behold, Early Bloomer popped up. xD No water and manure success yet, but I stuck in another batch... :p I am going to use them, as soon as my refined Roses are harvested. Yes the refinement is in one of my refinery slots now. ;)

Got so excited forgot to say, I am at 9/25. Good luck to all on this funny day. :)

    Hi joanc123,

Happy that you got your carnation refinement. Just keep on trying and you will get all refinements. I did roses and carnation and I have all their refinements. After that I did few refinements and I stopped because I din't have a lot of crops. After reading your post I have once again started refinements, I have put cauliflower into refinement.
We are sure supporting and encouraging each other. :D

Got a late start due to a medical appointment. I have 8/25 on this farm and 5/25 on 2nd farm. Too tired and headache bad enough that I have no idea if I'm on track or not. Seems like it takes a long time to 'deliver' a bag of jewels to the weasel, play the game (the fast hands makes my eyes feel funny), select a shell, and then have to wait for the evidence to build to click back to do it all over again. Good thing we only have to do it 25 times.

Wow, 12!! You got me beat...I am only -4200xDxD I only need 1360 more on crops and I have 489 drops:p:music::D with 2 fields of roses and 2 fields of ginger ready to harvest in a couple of hours. Haven't milled any bags yet just because I wasn't sure how long it would take to get enough drops for milling. Best of luck everyone and please try to have fun with this!! After all it is a game and we all have to learn the diff between good and bad behavior at some point in our lives;):):p

UGH! GDW wanted to charge me rent to sleep in my farmhouse last night! I slept on the porch. Oh my aching back...

Sorry to hear you're feeling lousy PnP! XOXO Did that make the headache go away?
I think this event may be the least memorable April Fool's. I was waiting to see if anything happened when I logged in today... I would rather not have the two extra clicks and have to wait for the slight of hand, which would nauseate me if I had a migraine/headache. When the game does stuff like that I count out how long it takes then next time look away an count. FOCD at it's best! LOL!

I think you can finish depending on how badly you're feeling...

Currently I've donated 8 bags o'jewels, with 3 in the mill. My current configuration is four fields for event crops, twice a day. From that I'm getting slightly less than enough for 6 bags a day. Carnations and melons overnight is providing me with plenty of drops for the milling. You might want to try 3 rounds of event crops or 5 fields or both to get the crops done then use your refined crops to speed up the drops. Don't forget about the Alchemy buffs to speed up drops, by speeding up crops.

Brakenjam, you're cutting it a bit close on drops and crops. You might be a little short on crops. You might want to start planning on how to get a drop boost at the end using whatever buffs you have available. Is your LL rune maxed out yet?

Anyone not sure about the status of their LL rune... go to the Glade (GDW took control of the star access), click on the tree, go to the top of the tree and click on the LL rune. Mine shows "30/30".
