    Positives
I like the event plant (can we keep it?)
    I enjoy feeding the weasels
    The prizes variety is good.

    Negatives
Personally I would prefer a lower amount of crops an be limited to 4 fields or even 3.
The drop rate is too low unless you can harvest your crops enough times to be able to fill the huge crop demand and allow you to plant longer overnights for drops.
I hate 6 hr crops - they just don't work with my schedule; can't plant them at night/when at work, doesn't work nicely on comfort fields etc.
I'm not a fan of the mini event - I'd rather just feed my weasels than have a time consuming pop up every time - it would be nice if this feature could be switched off for those of us that don't want it/don't have the time to deal with it.

I think if you are going to do a "cannot win" joke, it would be better taken if the real win were not nearly impossible.
Right now, there is no joke because, in fact, the drops are just way too low for even experienced players to win. Basically, this game has gone from a fun place to hang out and waste some time, yes occasionally spending money, to yet another internet "free game" that is just a money hog. THAT is why this "joke" is not much of a joke. Its because it is pretty much what most of us long time players feel has ACTUALLY happened... Big point was bought, rules changed and the entire attitude has changes.

8)It has been a pleasure reading all these posts, positive or negative. :)

The reason? Those who stated their thoughts/opinions, and those of us who have read and thought about them, have fulfilled in a wonderful way the purpose of being alerted and cautioned about the fact and harm that subliminal suggestion can do. It was reassuring to read of those who teach their children to be aware of the dangers!
Sooo......purpose fulfilled - 'moving on'! lol

Out of respect for the right of each of us to make our own decisions, I've continued to send jewels to neighbors and friends, even though I don't agree with the premise of, and am not participating in, this Event.

LOL - which is full of very subtle 'Jokes' = I just harvested all my event-UNprepared fields...and got 116 drops from the 5 fields!!!:wuerg:xDxD
"Diamonds for sale!!! Diamonds for sale!! CHEAP!! Just guess which cup they're under and get a FREE one-(xDxDxDxDWITH purchase, of course!!)";);)

  4. I've very confused by your post cheynneblue: You claim that you have to purchase more water for your water tower every time you go inside your barn - why? You only need to purchase water to use on your crops and animals and that is entirely separate from when you enter the barn. If your 'nailed with a negative charge' is the '-' next to the diamonds, at the top of the page, that's just for the event and is merely part of the fun. In the FAQ it stated you would be charged for entering any building, but you can ignore it because it's not real, nothing is taken from your cc account.

You also don't have to do this event, nor grow countless special crops (only one this time) and it doesn't prohibit you from growing anything else, since you have the choice - as I am doing - to continue on other fields with normal crops, trees and animals, and only grow special crops on one or two fields or all if that's your requirement.

I have played this game for about ten years, but I have never been prohibited from growing anything, nor forced to grow anything I don't want.

There are things that need addressing, not least of which is the low drop rate for event crops, but making a first impression with an event that will be played once isn't high on my list of criticisms.

I actually like this event, I have no issues with the moral aspects, since my integrity is not affected by some fictional character in a game, I am not going to get involved in arguments just for the sake of it. I respect others' beliefs, and thus allow them to hold them without criticism or judgement. Whether they do the same for me, is up to them.

That said, I decided to reverse my usual mode of play and only grow event crops on the two baha fields. The other three fields I've left with my normal trees / pens / workshops. I have already reached level 10, and have enough drops for two more games when my crops are ready later tonight.

I would also advise the players who are upset that they aren't making inroads to the 'debt' to read the FAQ - it's a fictional debt the game can't be won - which is the April Fools' aspect - and it makes no difference to your prizes, since you get them when you play the game. Once the event is over, the 'debt' will disappear like summer mist and all will be back to normal.

This is true. No one is forced to play anything, we do not need to play this game at all.. and more and more of us are making that decision. Some gradually, some suddenly.

Except, if people do play, then events are part of the game.. and its structured to make sure we feel we are missing out if we don't play. I have missed events in the past because of real life, but these past 2 events are the first in a VERY long time that I have honestly tried to play and yet not completed.

I know most of you do give a rats __ about the stickers but you know I do :Dand that is one thing BP got right with this event ;)the sticker is the first reward :inlove::music::D:p:);):inlove::inlove::inlove: thanks
But there is always a but...
drops need a major improvement. I don't understand why events do not support themselves? To play an event we have to grow event crops then that is where we should get the majority of our drops from. When you harvest your event crops the count is ALWAYS so low, sometimes/often as low as only one (1) drop. SAD!!!:(>:(:sleepy:
I enjoy the little games and have fun playing them even when they have glitches in them but I hate how hard they make us work to play. The event crops and drops percentage sometimes really makes me not want to play. But like I said there's always a but... I play and do the best I can and don't stress.
Love the weeds are gone!!!! :inlove::D:D:music::):p;)o_OxD:inlove:AWESOME now I don't even stress a little bit. I get done what I get done and if I can't get back to the computer for a day - day and a half I have no reason to stress over it, my crops will be there when I get back.

This is not the place to really debate t his, but I have to step in, having a fair amount of experience and expertise in this.

I am old enough to remember times when about half kids were forbidden from playing "cops and robbers" and other "violent" imaginary games, because, it was thought they made us violent. The truth? Young kids use imaginary "bad guys" to sort out both good and bad, fears, etc. NOT allowing kids to do that is what really leads to issues more often than the reverse. Kids in the most pacifist of families and societies (note, I do live in PA) all play similar types of battle games.

Similarly, kids play games online that do not match anything close to reality. In some cases, it IS a matter of concern, but not in this context. This game is generally a good game. Although I don't like the takeover, anyone who seriously things this particular event, the way it is structured, will harm kids -- sorry, but the research is regarding far more serious issues. Gratuitous violence, sexism, etc. are all prevalent in many, many games and are quite negative, precisely because they are not presented as jokes, are constant rather than occasional, etc. THAT is what you should be worried about, not this. Even then, a lot depends on how you deal with things.

The bottom line is that kids don't learn their values from games like this. They learn from the values families and friends transmit.
Also, this is very far from "subliminal", and that is part of what makes it OK. It is the hidden messages we need to worry about most, because it is hard to discuss them, sometimes hard for even us adults to catch the issues, at least in the immediate.
I can get into this more if anyone wishes, but in other formats -- not here.

And please note, I don't like the event. I think its confusing to new players in a negative way, and, as I said earlier, is actually too much like what really did happen here. Its not going to corrupt anyone not already corrupted, but it is just not fun for me.

I totally agree with what you are saying. So I would like to add my pros and cons.

    Pro:
Thank you for providing this thread, and indeed the Forum. It has been very entertaining, and a great stress reliever.
Thank you also for the In Game Message system, which allows my neighbors and I to make fun of your Event.
The prizes are nice, and the only reason I am even participating.

    Con:
This Event has been NO FUN AT ALL!!! (except as stated above) Why?
    The graphics are not entertaining,
    the drop rate is dismal,
there is nothing to do between growing long stuff for drops or medium stuff to mill. (except as stated above)

Oh, now I see... This event is the joke! 8) I would have rather seen the flood, sorry to have missed the fun days.

I am going to take the very unpopular stance that this event does in fact have a reasonable drop rate. I have seven weasels left to capture, with three days left. I work a job, am gone from the house for the majority of the day each day, and sleep well at night, but I have managed to do two rounds of event crops on what amounts to four fields, as I left most of the Rainforest and part of Baha in trees and pens, plus a handful of trees on the main, and the pink peacock, which I made on the day my mother died, and as such I will never take it down. I enjoy times when this game requires a strategy of, for example, never leaving your farm idle. For any players who will be attempting such an event, there will be adequate crop choices, so that a long crop can be placed overnight, and balancing long and short will result in enough drops - over the entire course of the event.

That being said - that criteria should get this event labeled "extra hard". I will add my name to the list of people who hate the six hour event crop. It's not convenient. Either go short, or go eight hour. Six is unmanageable and makes it very hard for people to keep their farm in constant production, which, if you are going to require that to be able to complete, you HAVE to make it possible.

Other notes - I also love the event crop and beg please please please can we keep it. The prizes are great and varied. The amount of crops per weasel seems high, but then you look at other events where sometimes we have to donate 5000 for a single step, and its all even. As far as the premise of the event - I run a teaching program for primarily children. I asked ten sets of my parents what they think about this event, and every single on of them said "kids need to learn early on that there are bad things in the world, how to make the right choices, and about good winning out over evil." Since ultimately good does triumph in this game, I think the protests are a little over the top - but I also respect that everyone is entitled to their own feelings. I have bigger problems, honestly, with the fact that it seems to kill our animals to breed them or to take from them products that in reality, don't kill the animal - eggs, milk, logs, honey... but as has been pointed out , this is a GAME and is not meant to mimic reality in every way.

In short - I think this is a good event, but mislabeled. Should have been given the highest difficulty rating available, as it is entirely completable but very difficult.

ok first let me apologize especially to those i offended by my ranting about the event,i have since moved on to concentrating on the farm itself and the answer to your question about the water, the event is actually charging you a debt everytime you fill up your water tower with water, whenyou click on the tower to refill it with the country coins, the red negative of the debt increases with that move, but its no longer bothering me,infact i am looking forward to the next event already, thanks for all the feedback however,it is very helpful

Here is my April Fool Stats
~15k plants and actually 461 diamonds.
Believe this or not I just got 14 drops from a crop of event plants. I do believe that is a record for me:D
Yea, I have read about some of the past April Fool's pranks and they all sound better than this one. 'No win game' that is about as boring as I don't even know what SMH >:(-.-

I thought we were done with this, but evidently there is disagreement even within those having a fair amount of experience and expertise in the field.

Webster's Dictionary: Subliminal...existing or functioning below the threshhold of consciousness.

And it is because people are completely unaware of its effects that one might think that this game has none, and therefore o.k. for children.
Because children play Cops and Robbers?? Compare oranges and apples - yes, they are both fruits...Are they the same? No, yet both are fruits.
Even adults who have posted in the forum have felt dislike and discomfort...but , not knowing why, have played anyway.

Children do need to learn the difference between good and bad, right and wrong - but there are better ways than accepting negative subliminal messages as o.k.
The truth is - children learn from everything, everywhere, not just at home. Remember when you were growing up??!

".....about half kids were forbidden from playing "Cops and Robbers" and other violent imaginary games, because it was thought it made us violent."

Perhaps if people had not, in later times, been so complacent and 'accepting' of things seen, and so unaware of dangers unseen, this world would not be in the horrible warring, killing Con-ing, stealing, cheating state that exists today.
    Seems we DID get violent.

True, this game ranks low on that totem pole, and it may be fun, too, but it has the same harmful pattern of subliminal negativity that produces those things.

It is pretty common knowledge, routinely taught in both high schools and college psychology classes, as well as Professionally, that the subconscious mind does NOT know true from false, good from bad, or even have the concept of what is a joke. It simply takes everything in as fact, and leaves the sorting out to the conscious mind....which the conscious mind cannot do if it is not even aware that there is any sorting to do. This applies to all people, young or old. And it does not matter whether or not something is presented as a joke, because subliminal things go directly to the subconscious - leaving us all basically unaware.

I have written this here, and not privately, because this information is too important to keep from those who have a right to know, and - at their own option - become aware for their own, and their children's benefit, or not.

I hope we can be DONE with this now. Any more on this subject would just be redundant. Imho.o_O
