Moony Mayhem Strategy Thread

Completed part of event....Slime Monster and Night Gleam Tree on the Field...

 

I managed to plant my first 10 seeds last night so got off to a good start this morning. I think I got 11 Moony Maggots from my first harvest, Duskshadow Blooms, but I now have 101 so I am feeling pretty good about the drops ... so far!

A lot of those were gifts though - but still, I am hitting the estimated average daily requirement before the first 24 hour is up. I am working this afternoon and won't be able (or should I say I don't want) to do farming when I get home this evening at 9.30 so will put something longer in the fields - probably Duskshadow Blooms again.

I can't believe the requirements for the Slime Monster Pit from Jack's Shop (must be related to that Weasel!) - the crops okay but 50 Firelight Darkflies or Darklight Fireflies if you prefer! Definitely will get this pen from the event.

I will finish off the event crops tomorrow and then start on the Swamp Thing FSQ - I think I have everything for the first two sections, will need to work on the new stuff. I finished the other FSQs the last extended MM so am looking forward to starting something new.

I have 1000 crops and 100 drops. Not bad!

However, I'm more interested in getting dark fireflies to build more slime monster pens than actually finishing this event.
I wouldn't like having to face new MM content in the future without having finished the permanent quest.

Have got 4 dark fireflies lairs and they only gave 1 drop

 

In the first 24 hours, so far have got 1233 Horror Vines and 168 Moony Maggots. So far so good.

My Moonlight Mania Cloud Row is now inactive for 24 Hours. Put a Pause reaping spooky crops. Resume to Farming Horror Vines for the rest of the day. As Buffs do not work on Horror Vines.

Thanks for Info about Cancelling Buffs of TB...12ss12 but i decided to keep TB Buff. So i Suspend Production on Horror Vines Focus on Growing Spooky Crops with Buff Benefits. So back to growing Horror Vines
The remaining Horror Vines should be done tonight

Also focus to get the remaining Moony Maggots to finish off this event asap. So i can totally focus to produce some slime monster pens, Also need to produce some more dark green apple trees and some willlow tentacles trees as 100 dark green apples and 100 willow tentacles is alot for 1 nightgleam tree as slime monster pit is more durable to make as I have 44 darklight firefly lairs in my Spooky Barn

But slime monster feed does need 3 Nightgleam Orbs though so have to make couple of nightgleam trees. Before making slime monster pits...

The CR works with Horror Vines but not Terror Bouquet. Interesting Why !!

 

Why ? A permanent quest is here "forever", so I can't see why it would matter ?

 

Have not even reached a 100 yet...Famerama doesn't like giving me drops another 10 minutes to probably get another ONE

Yippee i just levelled up and can grow rose hips

*WHEW* Grueling week. But it's raining this weekend so I get to stay inside and... work. lol Came home yesterday afternoon and crawled in bed. Spent all but about an hour of the past 15 laying down. Convinced myself Slime and Maggots are more important than resting... LOL!

I did manage to complete all silver on all three farms. All of level 5 on 2 farms. Third farm still needs two more drops. Yesterday was as many event crops as I could manage in a 12h coupon. Today I'm growing blood fern and whatever I need for more Nightgleam Trees. And then maybe a Slime Pit or 10... Well that's what I'm thinking for now. After I wake up I might change my mind... lol...

I'm going to finish the event then start working on the Permanent quest. But do a little of both today.

The new quest requires a lot of... stuff. Don't forget we have a new buff for the Dark Glowworms/Lightning bugs/Fireflies.

Try Eau de Chair Pourrissante... did I get that right Illy? It sounds sexier when said in French than English...
Or just try rubbing raw meat all over your body and waiting a day or two...
Can you tell I like to read/watch true crime stories?

Advice for newbs and olds alike - do as I say not as I do. Loaded a field full of glow worms this morning and forgot to feed them! No drops from those then

I have no pets right now. Neither the energy nor money to properly care for them.

Well, I just completed all silvers and all of 5. I'll have enough of the event crop with 1/2 of the next harvest. So, I think I might make this one! I still have 62% of the drops to get, but 65% of time is left. I'm hoping that switching over to only long-growing crops and stables and trees, I will be able to get the remaining 200 drops! I'll be working on completing some quests or shopping at Jack's, so any more prizes from this event are basically "free!"

I always try to leave Moonlight Mania with the longest growing crop available. I don't remember how many drops I got with that first harvest, but I'm sure it helped. Before I did it just because it made sense to have the longest growing crop do it's growing without using Moonlight time. Now, there is an even greater reason to do so!

I think this new permanent FSQ is going to take a while. I need Illy to help with the math... By my count it requires 340 slime monsters. I have one slime pit so far. I typically manage 3-4 monsters per day. With one slime pit its going to take me around 114-85 days... I think that's... 10-7 years?
Buying a new one takes, among other things, 50 Dark Fireflies. I can probably manage 3 DFireflies per day. I need more DFireflies pens. The FSQ requires 225 Dark Fireflies. I can make Silver Flame Incense but it requires a lot of stuff. Which means I need to grow more stuff to buy pens and make SFI.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Simply cause if I dont set goals to myself I wouldnt be playing.
There are some permanent quests that I dont care if I never finish them, but I like MM quests.
And this one with 340 slime monsters is a great challenge to me!

I think I will manage to have 4 pens by the end of the event.
That wont be enough to finish the quest by november (next update expected) but at least I will be closer.

 

ive got the tree and slime monster from the event AND 1 each from jacks shop now I'm working on getting the power feed

 

I am getting very low drops too. Thought this one was gonna be doable. lol but love Moonlight Mania and the event crop is so cool.

 

End of Day 2 Update: 3114 Horror Vines & 180 Moony Maggots.
Added Slime Monster Pit & second Nightgleem Tree to MM field, leaving 170 1x1 plots. Just need 1 more round of event crop! Then back to MM crops & going for those drops. Will grow mostly 5 & 6 hr crops with CR & TB (after event crop is harvested). Once I have enough drops I will work on getting another Slime Monster Pit & Nightgleem tree. Still need 145 drops, hoping the Duskshadow Bloom gives better drops than the Glow Mold did. Thou why the maggots would like DB more than GM is beyond me.

It seems that, although the drops are low, they are not too bad in relation to the number required. I have had 145 so far and will finish the event crops soon. Finished all Silver levels and all of the final level. Just waiting for my mill to clear so I can mill some feed for the Slime Monster.

Weekend off but the weather is good so no real excuse to sit in front of the 'puter for 48 hours - except I have just set a 48 hour harvester coupon off and I have to make the most of that, don't I?

I will just have to do other "stuff" like gardening, conversing, staying awake, when crops are growing.

After two late shifts, I deserve a rest ... that's my reasoning anyway!

Sounds about right to me Suzee - I just saw that it takes 50 Darklight Fireflies just to make one Slime Monster!

I went looking for the rotting flesh water, trying to find out what it could do - thought I could use it! You were having me on, Suzee, and I thought you were my friend!

Yet another edit: I just set off some of that Silver Flame Incense - how come I am so slow to pick up on these new buffs. Must have slept through an announcement! I had leveled up in all artisans and don't usually make anything myself! In two days I have made two lots of buffs. Wahoo ... Illy comes back into the present!

And Suzee, I don't recognise the words to that song. Maybe I know it and have got the lyrics wrong too lol!
