Event Strategy - Moonlight Magic

A medium difficulty 5 day event which will take place August 10th to August 15th.

If you are new, or just too busy, help can be found using the SOS Thread.

This event is slight mix between a Grow 'N Throw, and a Barn-burner.

Here are the cumulative numbers:

3,000 - Brain Cactus (5h Event Crop)
90 - Brain Juice (Mill Item - Can be milled in Main and Baha, 22.5h Total Mill Time)

• 180 Kitty's Cauldron (Event Drop - 40 Drops Per Day Needed)
• 1,080 - Braincoli (3.5h Normal MM Crop)
• 1,080 - Latticed Stinkhorn (1h Normal MM Crop)

Using a Super-grow start will require 7 full harvests to complete the required amount of event crop.

*Sowing/harvest should use Fruit Cake, White Innocence, Carrot-Apple Chutney, Super-grow, and Susie's Super-grow.
**Take note, this deviates from the normal starting strategy as it utilizes 1x2 plots.

Additional Notes: You may check the amount of Braincoli and Latticed Stinkhorn by selecting the Moonlight Products tab in your barn.

There are many buffs which can be quite useful during MM events. See Mooboy's post following this one.

This event will likely come down to event drops. The combination of a medium difficulty (often times this means hard), and a very limited selection of long base timed crops, means there may be some struggle to collect enough Kitty's Cauldron.

 

Hi Decree thanks for Info on Moonlight Magic Event. Sorry to point it out to you as you have to redo your sums for Harvest 2,3,4 onwards as we cannot place 90 (2 x 2 Field) in Moonlight Playing Field as we only have the one Field to Grow Spooky Crops

I Suggest to do the 2nd Harvest using 2x1 Fields is which i do from time to time. I also use this when i fancy nuking spooky crops using Super Grow Buffs.

The Moonlight Mania Cloud Row gives 10% Faster Production of Spooky Crops for 24 Hours. Cooldown Timer is 48 Hours Which we can use on 10th,12th and 14th Aug

Terror Bouquet are always comes in handy during Moonlight Mania as we will be needing 10 Terror Bouquets combined with Pinkie Pie Pie

For Those of you willing to use SSG on Spooky Crops they are most Effective using 2x1 Fields plus use them on Spooky Crops taking 4 to 8 Hours to Grow.

Moonlight Mania CR + TB + Water + Manure can get Spooky Crops down to 50% Reduction Time, which can be implemented on 10th,12th and 14th Aug. As we can only get 40% Reduction at Best on 11th and 15th Aug

The use of 2x1 fields brings up an extra wrinkle in the strategy where SG and SSG are no longer needed to reach full potential.

I also want to remind everyone that following this event will be the Neon Stables event. This is a good time to build up their stock of Donkeys, Fish, and Ostrich.

Im not sure on this one as wanted to grow and grow MM crops to do FSQ's. as usual my competitive streak to get an event finished will no doubt take over in the hours before event starts. rewards, to me, are pathetic again. the cloud row could be worth it but its a full weeks cooldown.
So its wait and see for me.

From Decree Strategy:

• 1st Harvest [10 x [2 x 2]] = * Full Nuking Tactic
• 2nd Harvest [90 x [2 x 1] = * Full Nuking Tactic

Devising Nuking Brain Cactus for First Two Steps. Would Reap you 630 Brain Cactus. Therefore no need to do a 7th Harvest of Event Crops. So that we can use remaining time to Grow Brain Coli and Latticed Stinkhorns, which are needed to mill Brain Juice

Reaping Spooky Crops Frequently or Reaping Longest Spooky Crops (8 Hours), Which is ideal to Grow overnight to help us gain Kitty's Cauldrons !! (Gifted to our Neighbours and Buddies)

 

I couldn't agree more. When I looked at this CR, I didn't see a lot of value. The only reason why I would consider doing this event is because it does not interfere with anything else I'm doing. So in the end, it comes down to the fact that there's no reason NOT to do it if possible.

While this is definitely an option. I am not going to recommend anyone use more SG or SSG than is absolutely needed. Many players do not buy SG or SSG, and therefore have to take into consideration their returns. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend that players use 90 SG and SSG to avoid planting 46 seeds. It would actually be more beneficial if players used only 23 SSG on the second wave if they were really desperate to avoid planting the additional 46 seeds.

If someone should choose not to avoid the additional 46 seeds in the 7th wave, they could just as easily plant Latticed Stinkhorn or Braincoli to run side by side with the last of the event crop.

I would instead suggest that players with additional SG should consider nuking a field or two of the longer crops, rather than use it on an additional round of event crops.

 

No, I think you we're right; it's a yield of 90 not 90 places..just sayin. so max the #'s to get a full field going switch to 1x2...it's early but I can fathom it thanks.

 

My original table had results from planting 90 2x2 after the second harvest which isn't possible on the MM field. That's what he was referring to. The original post has been edited so that it would reflect the correct amount of fields.

It should also be noted that a total of 98 1x2 fields can be placed on MM. With only 90 seeds though, we can only plant 90 fields worth.

 

Well now I don't know...the cooldown time on the cloud row is 168 hours. That's a week. So just how wonderful is it?

 

As far as a CR is concerned. It's below average. Only the Crate O' Spooky Goods is worth the consideration. It's more a matter of why not do the event? It doesn't interfere with being able to use Mainland or Baha farms. The FSQ's aren't going away, so there's no rush to complete them.

Chances are I'll do the event and get some FSQ steps out of the way. I'll also be making sure that I have 1,500+ for each MM crop just in case this type of event happens again and they want more of our barn.

 

Compared to regular moonlight crops, the event crop once again hands out superb EP.
Even without participating, depending on your goals ofc., it seems a good full moon crop to grow.

On a 2x2 field:

Googly Eyebush (5hrs) - 30 EP
Spotted Horror (5 hrs) - 28 EP
Brain Cactus (5hrs) - 100 EP

I can do the event for 2.5 days only (going on vacation/holiday - yippeee!). I doubt that's enough time to get all the needed drops to make it to the CR. Will see. A lot depends on drops at the initial harvest tomorrow, got Duskshadow Bloom on the field.

Just a reminder BRAIN CACTUS is an event crop not a MM crop, so MM Buffs do not work on it!
So use Terror Bouquet & the Cloud Row wisely.

 

I'm not going to do the event, I will just build up my Spooky crops, trees and creatures.

Actually 98 2x1 plots can be placed on the MM field

 

I'm copying Erridge's strategy...skipping the event to focus on crops, trees and stables.

 

Don't forget elephants, rumor has it elephant breeding is soon to be a reality. With no Baha required for a while, it's a great time to grow your stock.

Thanks for the reminder, dafodily. Don't want a repeat of last MM event where I used 5 terror bouquets before realizing they didn't work . TBs only after done with event crops, check! Will the cloud row bonuses work, then, or only for the regular MM crops?
