Can someone please explain the advantage of the Market Fairy Rune from the Tree of Wisdom? Can we not already sell our items for whatever price we want at the market? I'm a bit confused as to what the 'benefit' is for this rune, and not really finding answers in search. Thanks in advance.

ETA: Is it just allowing you to increase your price 75% over market value (ie. you can move the slide further for a much higher price?). Not sure what the benefit of that is. Surely no one will buy an item 75% over market value (since market value appears to be based on current pricing). Hence, my confusion as to what the advantage is. :/

Ohhh but sometimes that price is the lowest bid. If you don't have that rune you will be forced to sell for a lower price than a buyer want to purchase for. Think manure during a grow& throw. How sad would it be to sell the chicken poop at 100 when everybody else sells it for 175.

Sorry, guess I'm still not getting it. Market value increases when prices increase. Any of the low bids for manure during an event (for example) are long gone and the market price goes up as prices increase. There will no longer be low bids at 100 or lower available (if everyone is selling at 175) because people buy up the lowest priced first - and market value goes up.

I sold manure at high prices during an event awhile ago and don't have the rune (I could still slide the price 50% beyond what the current pricing was if I wanted to). As someone with a marketing background, I feel I should be getting this -- yet still can't see the benefit of this rune. Maybe I need more coffee this morning? Ah, well -- guess I'll have to pay it out to move on with the tree anyway. Just wasn't sure of the advantage.

Thanks for replying, Moraine! I do appreciate it. :)

the 100 and 175 price was just examples to make it easier for me ... or you. But if you sold above the lowest bid at the time, it was because the price was still rising while there was offers. But what happens quite often or used to, is that there is zero offerings. Then you would have the highest bid, but going back to those simple numbers you would sell at your max price say 100 but you could have sold at 175.

There are other times with offers. I especially experienced it with carrots. The cap of the price is influenced by the tendency of the prices. So there's a lag between when the cap rises higher and what is the currently lowest bid. I assume here you want a quick sale. Sometimes when an item is so hot the cap on the prices are slow in comparison with the actual price, that all offers are at "rune-price".

Also the rune comes handy when you know up front an item is going to be hot. So if you know 3 days in advance chicken poop will be all the rave, you may want to put it up on the market now. That way you can have more manure ready to put up as soon as all the customers comes running to the market.

But then again if you're on a slow market, and always want your offer to be on the first page, perhaps don't sell much, it may not be of so much use.

Hope I managed to explain myself a bit better.

ok here is my ideal of how it works.... sorry this is not the going rates or it may very well be.... but it is just numbers to look at...

say you want to sell manure and it auto pops up at 100.. the slider will go 50% left or right.. now with the rune opened.. it will go 75% to the left or to the right... which does give you more each time...fast sales i don't think has anything to do with the rune... the rune gives you more money per sell....
in other words without the rune.. say you be forced to add at 150 be your max.... when it could've been 175. now with prices going up and down... that does not matter as it is 75 percent ethier way... or 50 percent without it.. if the item is hot... it will sell no matter what.... and you can gain money each time you add to market if rune is opened.. least this is how i think it works..

You did, thank you. I usually try for a quick sale, so you can see why the rune seemed to be little value for me. I appreciate the explanation. I'll have to get the rune to move on in the tree anyway, but your post clarifies it for me. Particularly with the manure -- where you can only have so much at one time in inventory, and want to get your sales in early before an event (building it up as you go). That I can see as a benefit. Thank you again.
