Septemberfest- strategy thread

Starting the day off right, I managed to start my 10 seeds with H2O, poo, SG and Suzees...before eating my buffs to cut down SG time. My excuses: just woke up, and brain's still a bit muddled from head cold (mostly recovered, FINALLY, but still a bit of sinus congestion). Not a major error, I know, but annoying to have to wait an extra 45 minutes due to doh!-ness. Have only harvested one field of pens so far, a mixture of bears and I can't remember what else, so as not to lose the poo from stables ready to go, but got pretty good drops from it, 34 aprons and 26 hats, so hopes are high. I think I'll follow suit with pnp and others, and leave glade in stables while growing crops on other 2 fields. Need to go grocery shopping today (empty pantry cares not for empty...err...stuffy head), so crop growing time works good for me. Good luck everyone, and may all your customers leave good tips!

12ss12, if you like old movies, Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney is excellent. Husband and I just watched it recently, and I loved it! It's about George M. Cohan, and it's really funny, and the dancing is incredible!

thanks spots ! Glad you have recovered somewhat & wish you get relieved of sinus as quick as possible. Its very irritating, I know. Both cold & headaches. Added that movie to my list too. Searching for it as it is not freely available. Found it & watching it. Thank you.

 

Well here I am...on vacation and I've planted event crops. I am leaving my fields as is - about half trees/stables and half crops. Hoping the balance will yield enough drops. Not going to hold my breath. I will wait to do the "work" portion of the event until after I get back home as I use a pad of paper and pen to write down the combos so I don't screw up (okay, it works most of the time, heavy sigh).

Off to more thrifts. My dad probably thinks I'm nuts - that's what I like to do. On the hunt for vintage goodies (mostly fabric). Had to pay to take an extra bag home - TSA is gonna love pawing through a bag of fabric.

Decided to start it (although I'm not sure how much I can do later in the week). I find I'm getting far more aprons than chef hats. Anyone else?

... or will it be like the soapstone/limestone drops, where some get more of one and others get more of the second one?

 

jazzy - it is ok to get more aprons as we need more. To see if they are 'balanced' you can divide the amount you have by what it takes to mill the outfit and see if they are similar. If not, let your neighbors know your preference of gift. We need approximately 77 more aprons than hats so I think it will be fine. Good luck

 

Ah, true. Not sure I'll get that far (needing 77 more aprons), but you have a good point. Just seemed unbalanced at this point with only needing one more of the aprons than the hats for the mill. We'll see how it goes. Thanks!

 

jazzy - I tried to send you an IGM but it went to a player level 2...would you please send me an IGM?

 

I have sent a lot of messages to people within the game, yet never received one. I wonder if there's a problem with my messages coming in? player level 2??? I will send you one now...

p.s. Early in the game, I thought my mentor was just quiet when I sent a thank you for gifts -- maybe I'm just not getting them.

p.p.s. Let me know if this is working. I'll post in technical if there's a problem. Sheesh, would hate to think I haven't been getting messages all this time. How rude of me not to respond. lol

(my outbox at the post office shows messages I've sent, but my inbox has been empty since I started - who knows if people even received my messages)

 

There is another farmer with your same farm name who is level 2. I would encourage you to contact Support to see if they can help you sort it out so you can get the messages and gifts that are intended for you.

I have received the IGM you sent and have replied.

To others: Sorry to momentarily hijack the thread, but this is a little upsetting. Back to your regular scheduled program...

 

I'm keeping 2 fields full of 12 hour pens, high value XXL trees and doing just one field of bluets or whatever they are once I get into the high 200's close to 3. I'll switch to 2 fields.
So far so good; I got over a hundred of each today thats more than I expected. I refuse to sweat over this..I refuse to sweat over this. I'm practicing with screenshot.

 

I "planted" stables during the night instead of crops. Put down stables that would be harvest ready this the morning on two fields and kept my Magical Glade as it is. Now, I'm back to event crops on two fields as yesterday

I decided not to do this event eventually. Yesterday I thought I would and planted the initial seeds but I am really busy this week and I think it is better to do some normal farming.
I need to play the mini game though because I already milled 3 or 4 Chef's outfits.

 

Finished upto level 6 with 30 outfits...Good luck to all participants...Rewards for CR is updated with 1 crate of surprise

I am piling up the chefs' outfits on both farms. Pretty good ratio of drops so far - enough drops to match up to the amount of event plant available at the time of milling, anyway.

This is my last day in Phoenix...I fly home this afternoon. I think my suitcase is over the limit (I bought more junk for the hubby as well as fabric). So going to see about mailing some of it home to myself. I don't want to know what TSA agents would think if they saw creamers and a metal peppermill, etc. in my suitcase...best to just get it out of there.

 

Does the mini game automatically take a Ladle when you play? I milled 19 outfits, and had 19 Ladles, each time i played it automatically took a Ladle also, and no i did not click on the Ladle button.

 

I have decided to do this event, the cloud row is OKish but I just love the timed mini games so am growing just for that reason! Love the challenge of making my brain remember the orders with no cheating. I am finding the drops OK by putting out all my neon and pink high EP stables and some workshops. Even with those around the edge of my three frields I am harvesting over 900 bluets a run on 1x1 plots with CAC x 3 harvests each 24 hours not using water so will complete the challenge in four days. i have 96 ladles in my barn under 'Other'. According to the FAQ they are the drop from your crops. You should find yours there.

 

It is upsetting to think I've probably been getting messages, etc. for 2 months and never received them (they probably think I'm terribly rude not replying). Support send me an email saying there is an old inactive account that hadn't been used for years, and I shouldn't have been able to choose my name (they apologized). They got back the next day, so that part was quick, but now I have to wait for them to disable the old one -- they will contact me when it's done. They said they will escalate my case (not sure how long it will take).

I asked them if they could forward any messages or gifts intended for me that went to this old level 2 inactive account -- they said no, they couldn't do that. Ah, well. Not much else I can do now but wait.

As for the event -- it's crops I seem to have to wait for at this point (more waiting - ha). Some of you are moving along amazingly fast. Good luck, everyone.
