Septemberfest- strategy thread

I'm not going to reach the '3 order' section in this event, so I'll keep up with what I'm doing (jotting down my shorthand scribbles). I use the spoons because I like to double check (haven't made a mistake yet).

But in future events like this, if I do get to 3 orders -- my favourite option would be Moraine's (great idea, Moraine!): Print out of all items from the Event FAQ, stick the print-out in a clear plastic 8.5 x 11 sleeve, and use dry-erase markers on the plastic. You could just check them (a different mark for each set) with the marker, then erase after the order is completed. Ready for the next one!

Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!

p.s. you could even use saran wrap carefully taped taut over the print-out if you don't have a plastic sleeve. I have plenty of the sleeves around in my office, and the sleeve would be the better option, but for those without, sometimes you just have to get creative!

I'm 4 guesses away from finishing, just like Brookeham I find it a bit tedious and boring.

I just finished the event and now will be extra gifts Congrats to those who have finished and others still have time!!

 

Before starting to turn in my outfits I gave the order chart a very very long glance a couple of times. On the very last look I was able to make up my mind on the abvs. Main outcome was to do the drinks by color, using b(rown) and b-(blue) notation.
p(retzel) and p-(pizza) for main course and s(lice) and c(ake) for the desert. Everything else went just by the first letter. Somehow this solved the puzzle in my brain and once started I was on a roll and did the whole chart in one go without any mistakes. CR up and running and now going for some extra goodies.

Sweet Cassiopeia, it is something called True Key. Would appreciate if someone can tell me what this is and if I need it.

 

I like that method the best too. I forget to buy the markers when I am at the store though so I am still using pen/paper and identifying by letters/numbers for names, colors, etc. At least for now I have found a use for all my used envelopes from bills/ads, etc. received (Farmerama scratch paper).

The screen shot would be a good one too because when a problem occurs you would have a picture for the tech staff. Mine doesn't work the way they explained theirs to work. When I split the screen I can see the Paint screen but my farm is either cut in half or I have to zoom out on it so far to make it fit on the screen that that I can no longer see what is there. I could get another monitor but on a budget so that option is out.

Maybe I will try the screen shot out to see if I can make it work when there isn't an event going on. Clearing the pictures out after each guess might be more work then just the pen/pencil method and keeping them on the computer would probably slow it down.

 

I too used pencil and paper with abvs that worked for me! I now have the CR up and running!

Trees seem to be giving more aprons than hats, but stables seem to give more drops than trees. Best of luck to all!

am going to try a black marker pen on my screen on the images
and a wet wipe to wipe them off...my phones not charged enough I forgot

BUT think I may give this event up as a bad job ...I cannot be bothered with it ...I cannot sit at a computer all day ...I have life beyond Farmerama

 

I finished this afternoon, activated my CR and have carried on to get as many extra prizes as possible.

I did find that I didn't need to ladles though I used them a few times just to make sure. I just decided what letter codes to use for each item and went for it! With pen and paper!

I did enjoy the game but found it a bit tedious as by the time I did anything, I had 50 selections to make! Not sure how I managed to do this event ... my drops were fabulous! I will still have excess even when I have done all the crops I have time for. I only used two fields to grow the event crops and for the first two or three days, I only had 10 or 12 2x2 plots/comfort fields of crops, the rest were animals and trees. Maybe that was why ...

Good luck everyone still helping out those cute little waiters/waitresses.

 

Finished this morning! Whee! I have a few extra outfits so will get prizes for them, too. I'm with Illy - game got a little boring after a while.

Uh oh...coffee pot just shut off...gotta go give my cup a "topinoff".

 

I screen-shotted the image in the FAQ and wrote my letters over the pictures, brought that up in a window side-by-side with my game window, and then typed the letters for each order into a text document. Seems to work for me!

Finally finished....real life needed to be tended to or would have been done sooner. Lots of drops left over as I didn't rip all my trees/stables out.Wish I could share them with those who need them. We still have a little time left, so good luck to those still working on either the main portion of the event (cloud row) or those who are after extra goodies. I'm done...will not be doing extra and have gone back to what I need/want to do.

Done here as well, finished yesterday, now just milling a few extra outfits for some added goodies. bear has only the last section to complete for the CR, milling done, just need a few minutes to be able to do the mini game . I did the same, hatzeva, lettered abbreviations for each item, and didn't have any problems. I agree, gets very tiresome after a bit, especially when you have multiple farms, complete one, and still have 70 or so rounds staring you in the face . Glad I'm down to just a few. Congrats to all who've finished, and don't give up, those who are still plugging away!

i just finished the event.... didn't plant as much as i wanted as work took me away from game.... CR up and running. I did also find it somewhat boring doing like 30 to 40 of them at a time... but least it was worth it.... boring or not, prizes was great...

Another way we all can do these events is print 3 copies of them pictures... cut them out.... for each order put them pieces in front of you...<< just a thought to who may can use it better then the other ideas.... which soon as we get ours up and running again, I may just do this one.(out of black ink).... but who knows.... mark on /wipe off idea sounds good too...
