Finished, had to use more SG than usual. Well done to all those who have finished and good luck to folks still struggling.

 

It certainly changed my game Moraine ...before I got that I could never finish an event ... ....when we had a choice of which artisan to have ...I picked the bakery .... the confectioners is the only thing I have bought in this game

 

The game wouldn't load for me last night, no matter what I tried, so I wasn't able to harvest and replant last night before bed. So I lost out on yet another harvest, lost out on yet another round of all too important drops. That makes 2 full harvests now/2 full rounds of drops now that I missed out on for this event due to circumstances outside my control. That puts a major dent in whether I finish or not.

Just finished! Got an amazing 47 from a field of event crops! And I only needed 43 lol!

This was tough and no way medium but I did enjoy the challenge ... I think!

I want 109 marble rocks to complete this event ...and what did i plant ... the fields are full of ...STONE ROSES ...makes her way to the scream room GRRR what a twit

 

I need 222 rocks to finish. Okay, and about 2000 roses...so I've got the roses planted. This mornings drops were pretty good - 275. So the question is can I get the rocks by end of the day? After this last crop of roses harvests, I think I'll put in a long crop with SG and cross my fingers. Of course, my other farm finished yesterday. So I wondered about the drops and double checked, yup the other farm is two trophies higher than this farm so that's an additional 2% drop rate. One wouldn't think that 2% would make all that much of a difference, but it does. Especially when coupled with that happy holidays cloud row. I noticed the sale had the other one (extra tool drop), but not the holidays one that gives 5% on all resources. Interesting, eh?

 

I finished the event early this morning with a little over 26 hrs to go And I only used SG on my starter seeds so I don't know why some think it's necessary to use so much or that it's the only way to complete an event. Anyhow, Congrats to all who have finished and to others, keep going!!

If I cleared my fields off all pens, trees, etc. and only planted 1x1s of carnations I know from experience that I would not get anywhere near the amount of drops that you show above. So I ask, what is your secret?

Your say you plant refined carnations but at Level 98 there is nothing in the refinement of carnations that shows that it will increase the drop rate for event crops. Also my Tree of Wisdom has me at 30/30 drop chance increase for all fields with the "next level:" still showing blank. Do you have a higher level for this? How many Howie Donuts (5% increase for each) do you have on a field? Does the field triple or quadruple in size when someone gets to your level? Is the graph you show for one field? My calculations show that you are getting over 6 event drops* for each 1x1 not to mention all of the regular drops you are receiving--how is this possible?

Even if you got the new harvest bonuses on the farm wheel that does not account for the drop rate as those are for quantity and EP. The quantity one would allow you to finish with event crops sooner and plant high level crops but not increase the drop rate.

Not trying to doubt you or be difficult -- just trying to get some answers because I normally finish early with medium events but this one I don't think I will make it. All 3 of my farms are around 500 drops short with only 16 hours left and they still have event crops in the field.

I put in the same hours and even started this one earlier than usual. I started with nuking initial crops and then switched to 1x1s with cac.

After last event crops are harvested I don't want to waste all my SG on 1x1 carnations if I still will not be able to complete the event.

I previously asked BP questions re drop rates and they told me their were no buffs other than listed above that increases the drop rate for events.

*I just harvested my first test patch of carnations (8 squares) and received 5 drops. Not anywhere near the 48-56 you are receiving for the same amount of space.

 

I finished on both of my farms and my daughter finished on one of her farms and in 5 hrs will be done on her other farm it wasn't so bad and I didn't have to use very much SG only on the first couple of harvests congrats to all who finished and good luck to those still trying don't give up I didn't think I was going to finish either but I did

 

Last drops donated, one more round of crops. I always like to finish early as I never know when my internet or real life will be a problem.

well with less then 12 hours left and still need over 600 drops.... i am not gonna make this one....oh well maybe next time.... this event was rough...

Had to spend CCs buying products to get more SG from FSQs so I could do 140 or so instant roses but I've now completed the event.

Good luck to all those still working on it.

 

To get instant carnations and lots of drops you need
- Comfort fields
- CR from Harvest event 2014 (see pic below)
- Refined carnations (see pic below)
- White innocence
- Fruit cake
- Lots of SG (I actually used 1360. I got one drop from each comfort field every single time)



And then with the machinery, is just plant, add SG, harvest, plant, add SG, harvest. It takes 0 seconds. So what I posted is the total of all the 34 harvests I did in just a couple minutes. The side bar keeps adding all the different drops, since it only takes seconds.

This time, I had 40 comfort fields, 10 howie donuts and I ate a pretzel, carrot cake, obatza, summer bouquet, spring wreath and easter marmalade. I forgot to eat the chutney

If you do not have the CR, you can still reduce carnation time (on comfort field) down to 35 minutes. So get to work on those refinements! Check the Plant refinery thread in the strategy section.
IF you are in need of drops and lack SG, look for some refinements that drop harvesting time drastically, like raspberries for instance.
