What? No one started a strategy thread for this event?

    I did the math:

We will need 1400 Drinking Horn
    and 20,000 Golden Root

This event is pretty much a repeat of last year's (maybe that's why no one started a strategy thread).

The good news is that Ingrid only does a lot of lady Viking grunting in this one. No warbling.

I saw that and was like is this my chance to do it...lol. nah i would mess it up for sure....lol its a 5 day (120 hr) event. am working on number of times to plant.... as some like me don't have full 202 fields...What I have figured so far(more coming hang on math and brain not mixing this morning) is

you can plant 20 times with CAC.. you can plant more with SG, Water and Manure.
so that leaves my math at no less then 300 1x1"s you must have....and get 22 harvests. (you cant... 20 harvests only 6hr crop)
Don't forget that last harvest you get the full 4 crops... I did 3 in my math as you have to reuse one each time.. Also the start up is weak as we don't have 300 crops to start with.... So Make sure you know this... << this is just a guide.....DO NOT COUNT THIS.

350 ... do your own math... but it be pushing it to babysit farm... if you have 450 1x1's i think you can plant them like 15 times... that's like 30 hours saved.... not to mention if you add water and stuff.. i did NOT include this factor...

I just not long got up and on my second cup of coffee... anyone else would like to tackle this go ahead... What I have said is just a GUIDE... Please DO NOT think it will get you there (it may depends on your game play). it is only to help you plan... remove things if you must..... but I wait til event started to remove pens...

We have 5 fields to plant on..... I am sure we can make least 450 1x1's somewhere on these 5 fields....lol

PLEASE remember to do your own math..(I just woke up and errors can be made here).. add water all the way....least till you have your crops...

I haven't decided whether I'm doing this one -- I just put my fields back together (took forever)! I may skip this one event to prepare for the next. The prizes look lovely, but I need to work toward refinery, stars so I can increase how much manure I can hold (which means FSQs), confectionary, trophies, etc. to help with future events.

I haven't decided yet -- I may just plant enough to gain some prizes and not worry about finishing. Still on my morning coffee(s)...so nothing finalized in my mind yet. :)

This one is easy enough, with 5 fields in play there is 0 need for sos put in the work and get it done. if you cant sell your farm and go play bingo.

JAZAC - THANK YOU! for doing the rest of the math. I just do the simple stuff and go from there.

Jazzy - one thing to remember is that we can use 5 fields (the three mains plus the older two bahamarama fields). So that helps a lot with the event crop. I generally plant event crops during the day and longer crops overnight to get drops and keep the crop numbers up in the barn. Honestly, this is one that is completely doable without spending a dime of real money on baskets, etc.

I use SG and SSG on the first 10 seeds and generally the next two plantings. After that water and manure and away you go! Mill time is 5 minutes (2½ if you have the turbo mill subscription).

I generally don't wait and mill it all at the end, I mill and play the mini game some every day so that I don't have to put up with the grunting (or warbling when she's singing) over and over. Remember, I have two farms, and it drives my husband nuts because I play with the sound on and I'm not shutting the sound off just because he doesn't like her singing or grunting. I have to listen to the voice overs from his television shows (mostly a bunch of British car shows), so he can put up with Ingrid.

Hi bunny -- I'm not too worried about crops (I seem to be able to get those) -- it's the drops I worry about.

Still undecided, but I may give it a go. I just don't want to rely on the help of others all the time (people have already been far too generous) -- trying to get my farm up and running to tackle events, but it's hard when events are constantly back-to-back. Plus I have work to do -- outside the farm. ;)

It's tempting...I have today to decide.

I think everyone should go for this..... but i understand we all cant play all events.... the drops yes Jazzy I think we all worry about them.... but i know this is not how we get drops but I did do math on it.... that's 12 drops per hour we need... 288 drops a day.. I do think we all can get this.... am I wrong for thinking this? Even put out 400 good trees and that alone should help you make this... with the drops from the crops.... Can we screw this up? DON'T ANSWER THIS... I know I can......lmao

I did get my EB from carnations yesterday ... I am so happy.......now I want it on my roses....lol

jazzy life does happen.... i wouldn't worry about the event if you cant think you will make it.... But if I was you... i would give it a go... if anything get what ya can from it....after all this is just a GAME right folks?......lol on second thought scratch that....lol

Okay, I'll give it a go -- you've all convinced me. :) Might as well do one that is easier to tackle (the next one may be harder).

    See you at the event.

Congrats on the carnation EB, Jazac!

ETA: I will have to do all my 1x1s by hand (ugh) -- I used most of my obtainable FSQ harvester/seeder rewards on the last event. That part I'm not looking forward to... :p

If I'm not mistaken, our resident strategy thread starter began university this week (way to go Ariel! :D ), thus the probable reason for a lack of any starters. ;) Thank you for taking up the call, bunny and Jazac!

I'm, of course, all in on this one. I didn't do too well last time with my combo choices, hopefully will have more success this time around. I discovered last event I had time to grow a round of rose hips using H2O, poo, and CAC with the flower and chestnut CRs active, while waiting to get enough event crops for all fields, for pretty good drops. But I probably will not do so, instead opting to wait and see if I still need massive drops at the end, in which case I'll do instant carnations because it's cheaper SG wise. I'm an SG hoarder, hate using more than I absolutely have to for fear I'll need it and won't have any left. :wuerg: I'll mill as I go, because like bunny, I dread the thought of having the pressure of can I get the mini games all done in time. I leave the sound off, tho, unless I need a good laugh (didn't know Ingrid was a grunter xD ); find it distracting. Good luck to all who participate, may your axes be sharp and your aim true!

Jazzy - can you spare a few BBs to get the seeder and harvester during the sale that's currently running? I save up my harvester coupons for winter when I can't swing the monthly price for it. Even the one hour coupons generally give enough time to harvest and reseed everything. I don't think I could do it by hand with 1x1s...

Opps I didn't look at the FAQ good enough. Me and dumbunny did the math for 40 games.... We ONLY need 30 games/broths to get the CR. So my math in earlier posts is a good shot at this event... which means more 1x1's you have the faster you will have all event crops grown..

30 milled Broths 5 minutes each 150 minutes... 2 hours and 30 minutes total mill time.
    1050 Drinking Horns
    15000 Golden Roots

I am very sorry for not looking at the FAQ better... I did say I just woke up and that i would mess it up.... i was right.....lol... that's my story and i am sticking to it....lol :)

EDIT: That's 210 Drops a day we need avg

Note: Each player will receive 1 Viking Broth at start of Event to try out the mini game.

(35 less drinking horns, 500 less golden root and 5 mins less milling time).;)

Thanks for letting me know, bunny -- I hadn't noticed the sale. :)

I see the sale ends several hours before the event starts -- why not run it during the event? If I wanted to grab the sale at the last minute, it would be something like 4am my time and I'll be sleeping then so would have to buy before bed (which takes a considerable amount of hours off). They last 48 hours, so I'd still be short the rest of the event, or have to buy again (without the sale). I'd have to get the seeder and harvester -- so that's a buy x 2. Not sure if I want to part with the BBs yet. I'm saving for future recipes, etc. We'll see - it would certainly be easier. :)

ETA: I have a few 1 hour harvest helper coupons in my inventory -- do they include the seeder (or just the harvester)? Never used them.

The coupons give you all harvester functions. :) Don't forget, you can get harvester from FSQs too, some which give all functions and some which are function specific. Remember, tho, that those rewards aren't coupons, the harvester is activated as soon as you complete the quest donation. ;)

Aaaahhh.. Ingrid + Axes = GREAT FUN. I'm in!

Only 30 games to play for the CR and another 10 for a decent (T)EP giver. The Star Coins I'll exchange for whatever goodie, PF, SG, SSG
Pity this time there are no rewards for extra games.

I advice everyone who's new to Ingrid and her axes to read a previous strategy thread.
The very first post contains links with loads of info on how to pick your perfect axe!

The Event Crop compared to regular crops shows it's best to grow on Mainland!

    Mainland
    Event Crop (6 hrs) - 60 EP
    Pumpkin (5:58 hrs) - 36 EP

    Bahamarama
    Event Crop (6 hrs) - 60 TEP
    Bell Pepper (6 hrs) - 84 TEP

I'll prepare my fields as usual with as many 1x1 plots filled with the longest growing time crops I have a use for. During the event I think I'll grow long timed crops on BAHA and Event crops on Mainland only. Might change.. depends on drop rate :)

Have good fun all. Keep smiling!

Crops - I'll put them out on all the fields as I don't clear my fields of trees and stables (mostly just the menageries) during events like this if I don't have to - and with 5 fields available, I shouldn't have to.

As for the mini-game... does anyone else have a strategy there? I have found, over the course of doing all the Ingrid events, that there are some things that are "usually" true - the number of green dots goes up and down relative to position. So your first pick on all three is pure dumb luck. But, after that, I try to move left or right depending upon what I get. Of course, the handles, with only 5 choices, are the easiest to figure out by the 5th try. The axe heads and runes, with 8 and 10 choices respectively, are a little more difficult. But, I usually find that moving one to the left or right for the second choice yields enough information to make a better choice the third go-round. In fact, I often start at one end, or one choice in from the end and then move left or right accordingly. Basically, what I'm saying is that past the first pick, it's not as random as one might think.

Thank you, spots -- I used the FSQ ones on the last event (those I can get right now - including products purchased toward them that I could afford). Good to know the coupons will give me all functions. :)

Also, remember that Comic #1 gives a chance at 3hrs of instant machinery (All Harvesters). I just did it twice as a test and got it as a prize choice both times (I have the Harvester subscription tho, so it just added the time to my total hours).

    In the mini game:

For Axe head I tend to look at the shape; triangle, round, square, it differs on side, top or bottom.
    For Runes I tend to look at the number of openings. An X has 4, a F has 3, a M has 2.5, a N only 2, a B has 0.
Something like that. Guess I too need to read back on some older strategy posts myself :)
