please correct me if I'm wrong but you get 12 fruit from one tree right? then you feed 1 fruit to one fairy? that means with 5 trees with 12 fruits on each tree gives you 60 fairys you can feed right?? so you only have to harvest the 5 trees once to be able to feed the 45 fairies?

 

Don't I wish... It takes 25 fruit for each fairy cat! They get hungry hovering at the bottom of the field!?!!

What?? Fairies in MM land?? Somehow it doesn't make sense to me and I feel an urge to make a call upon the most creepiest ghostmonster to scare them away. What was BP thinking?
Oh well, I'll go by the idea all these way-too-kind creatures are just a disguise for something unheard of. Keeps it creepy.

Strategy wise I will remove the Midnight Oak trees before going to bed. With the 2:36hrs growtime it's not worth it to have those going overnight as it will mean about 6hrs idle time. Time which can be used for longer crops on 1x1's that also will provide better drops.
I also decided to grow some extra Spider Fern as I planned to feed as many uncreepy faeries as possible with that many berries they don't feel an urge to ever return to MM again!

The FSQ requirements are quite high on the newest MM items, *might* be able to finish on 1 by the time Halloween is over

It's great to see so many fellow farmers are having fun with the new content. Yay for the creepy season!

 

Thanks for the number crunching 12 (and others) I need so many slime monsters before I can open the new plots + lots of other stuff But MM is great fun as always!!!

Please correct me if I am wrong if we put ep items in mansion we can only harvest when the Moonlight Mania is going on

 

The giver area (haunted manor) will be open all the time, but the other areas in the new MM world will be closed. I know I read that somewhere in FAQs.

I am so confused Which crop is it we want to really grow first? And is iy top priority to have one of the Cat Fairy pens for the event or is that to help open new areas? I know I should be able to figure this out but.......

Grow the ferns and place your 5 Oak trees first, julie.

You want to feed the fairy cats floating at the bottom of your MM area (you get random prizes as you progress). They want 25 oak fruits for each feeding. The Midnight Oak trees give you the oak fruit (you get 5 trees for the event), but they take 39 hours without special shadow mulch. The shadow mulch (reduces time by 90% on Oak trees) is made in your mill using 10 ferns and 1 spray bottle each (the spray bottles are drops from MM crops). Using reg. mulch plus the shadow mulch will take the trees down to 2 hours and 26 minutes (or something like that). You can use Suzy's SG to add 2 more fruit per tree as well, if you like (12 instead of 10).

The cat fairy pen is a gift at the end (after feeding so many cat fairies), I believe. The gripping grass is for cat fairy feed once you get the pen.

There are also 2 new FSQs to open up two more areas within the mushroom field -- you get one area free. You can do those later -- or during the event if you have time -- or the next time MM opens up.

Hope that makes sense. There's so much to do, it's complicated -- easy to get confused with it all.

Don't you get the cat fairy pen as a reward at the end of the cat fairy feeding bar? I thought building one from Jack was only if you wanted more than one pen.

ETA: Just checked -- the cat fairy pen is at the end of the rewards bar.

 

you also need gripping grass to build the fairy cat pen in jacks shop too I'm not sure about that jazzy but you can build it in jacks shop also we were writing at the same time lol its also used for the feed as you said

I just received a fairy cat pen as a reward for feeding a fairy cat, so you can also get a pen that way.

 

Congrats birdiesaunt! I've only been able to feed 2 fairies so far, for an XL toolbox and a party spin , but will be able to feed again in about an hour. I had to get my one and only fairy kitten pen the old fashioned way, by building it, lol. But, it's up and growing, so hopefully will be able to open 2nd section of mushroom forest before end of MM. I am LVING this event, I already have all the necessary mulches to grow my trees faster, now just need to get those luscious berries for my poor starving kitties. In the mean time, am growing all the crops I can to get more of the creepy willows and then another fairy pen or 2. I can't wait for the first ever full moon mystery seedlings! Maybe save me some crops .

 

Why are these cats not scary?
End of day 1: harvested midnight oak trees 4 times, 9 cats fed. (Got a late start this morning, 4 hours after event began.) I'm using shadow mulch, ssg, & turbo mulch on my midnight oak trees. Used up all my sg on getting the spider ferns growing aplenty. Of course utilizing CAC as well! After I obtain enough ferns to ensure continued milling of shadow mulch (till amount required is reached), I'll focus on the crops & other items/creatures etc. needed toward finishing the mushroom forest quests. I am so happy with this event! Love it! Good luck everyone! Happy Halloween Season! Wish I didn't have to work during this event so I could finish it more quickly & move on to the mushroom forest quests.
