Scary, scary... not sure what to do.
A reindeer friend is going through an awful time... divorce and needs to pay off legal bills and has to part with some reindeer. She has a large herd and understandably can't part with the ones she has become attached to but has to sell last years calves. If it was last year when I was desperate for an entire bull??
But I have been offered a 10 year old ex racehorse, lovely boy but would need to invest in stabling, fencing, tack, rugs We also need new bathroom and all sorts of boring home improvements.
Hubby, love him at times ;) has suggested that it would make sense to buy in another reindeer... :) :)
    Watch this space!!!

So excited... first calf for season has been born in Alaska, in the last couple of hours. Alaska is always at least a month earlier than us and this one is early BUT big and healthy though... :)
Edit, mother has had her bonding time and just heard it's a girl. :)

    Thank you all...
    Today's News...

Well it wasn't his "six pack" so it must have been his cute baby face that attracted the girls as I am pretty sure I saw faint kicks in Twiglet's tummy too. :) A little embarrassing when hubby comes home and asks what I have been up to today... Hmmmn "about 3 hours staring at reindeer bellies" but I NEED to know!
So the latest member of the "Yummy Mummy Club" ... Twiglet.

Still have many hours of Reindeer Belly Watch OCD to do as nothing seen from Elsa or Lexi yet but babies sleep a lot and I'm always guessing that while I am staring at one tummy other babies are partying in other tummies. :)

It's very taxing!!! you have to blink occasionally at which point you may miss the kick! You end up with cross eyes and with aching eyelids... :) :) :) :) Exhausting!!! :)

That is a beautiful horse but a life long commitment and expense! It would be wonderful if you were already set up to
handle a horse! So more reindeer it is!xD I bet there are some pretty interesting conversations at your house!;) We will be watching and waiting right here for sure!

    OMG!! That's a gorgeous horse!:inlove: I wished I lived closer....I'd definitely take him...especially for free!Is he entire?? Imagine the stud fees? :p
But I think you are making the wise decision and sticking with your reindeer.;) Are you going to purchase any of your friend's herd?:music:

A magnificent horse indeed! I can see why it was a hard choice to say no; but I think you made a wise choice to go with another reindeer to build up your herd.
Looking forward to photos of your new addition!:)

I already have aching eyelids and probably am crossed eyed too so it would not make that much differencexD
