I know the game has not started yet, so how can I have an opinion? From reading FAQ.
The forth Viking Sauna giver you have to get to run the cloud row is very disgusting. I think you are trying to make a joke and I know they are Vikings but it is very repulsive. NOT funny or cute. My opinion. I for one will not even try for the cloud row. I'd rather spend my 229-star coins on GBs and I never do that. Golden Bananas are to rich for my blood. Anyway, I had to give my two cents on that. Shaking my head BP shaking my head. Not amusing, humorous, witty, or even comical, just plan out revolting, disgusting, offensive, objectionable and distasteful.

PS: All that aside, I really like Ingrid and her ax throwing but thanks for the on/off switch for when I'm trying to get just one more try in before work I have always enjoyed this event and the singing Ingrid too.

 

Always enjoy this event! I LOVE making/guessing the possible combos and throwing the axes. Can't wait.
The CR, when timed right, can be very profitable. And any extra prizes gained from purchases with the accumulated star coins are just icing on the cake

Can someone please tell me what is so disgusting about the Viking Sauna, I cannot see the problem.

 

I don't get why it is "disgusting" either? All I can see is 2 sheep bathing in a pond and then a monkey with a viking hat looks out the door and then obviously turns off the water, then opens the door and laughs...then turns it back on again.

I believe she is not seeing it that way. I think, she feels the monkey is using the bathroom.It could be seen either way I guess. But as BP is G rated, I am sure it is as you discribe it Brookeham.

 

I believe the giver is called Viking Sauna! Which indicates to me the little monkey is looking out of a wooden Sauna!

 

I wouldn't look too much into FamilyFarmNorth comment. I for one don't find any aspect of the giver offensive, along with everyone else. In fact I really love it's animation

I bet you find the givers from the 2 previous fishing events offensive too.

 

The naked truth is that FFN doesn't give a single reason as to why the giver is no good. Using strong words to express protest is meaningless when not giving an argument.

I like every aspect of this event. Almost all fields can be used, plenty of time, reasonable requirements and drop rate (so far!), fun mini game with a challenge, good prizes to be won and/or bought with the in event coins.
Happy to see this event returning for its 4th, 5th fime!

 

Me too! I like when we can use baha plus main farm for event plants & drops (but leaves Crystal falls out to work on products & animals). It makes the event go faster!!! I'm always in a race to finish an event...I don't know why? Except for lately, it is to get back to normal farming for a day or so. LOL

 

It appears to me that the Monkey is looking out of a Viking Outhouse (toilet) and laughing at the two sheep. The water that the two sheep are relaxing in comes from the flushing of the toilet.

And I know (for those of you who want to get technical) that outhouse toilets don't flush but that is what it looks like to me.

 

A sauna is enclosed to hold in the heat and steam (hence the building/hut). The sheep are bathing in the hot water coming from the sauna, it is not sewage... wouldn't it be brown if it was?

 

This is one of my favourite events - Graphics great as always, and the drop rate is good, and th shop has nice prizes

 

Perhaps the disgusting that FamilyFarmNorth is referring to is when one is in a "sauna" usually means naked (in some cultures) and that the monkey is turning off the steam and sees...well...things that make him giggle???? Just a guess....it is the only way I can find disgust in the matter....I actually haven't taken a look, just offering an alternative perspective and point on view based on the original post.

I really enjoy the Ingrid Axe Throwing Event

 

Having brown water would really be disgusting and it would also make it rather impossible to claim that it was not intended to imply that the sheep were swimming in toilet water.

My post was an explanation in response to previous posts about why someone found the EP Giver offensive and others saying they didn't know why.

The giver could be taken either way -- you say a toilet would have brown water and I say that a sauna or steam room would have steam coming off of the water or at least a rosy color to the sheep swimming in the hot water. In addition because it is called a Viking Sauna this seems to imply that Viking Saunas are somehow different than other saunas. I live in Redneck country and redneck car alarms are dogs standing on top of a car -- the term Redneck Car Alarm denotes that it is different from other car alarms and also something derogatory against rednecks. Redneck Horseshoes are people throwing toilet seats instead of regular horseshoes.

As far as it being rated G - Disney movies are full of hidden drawings that shouldn't be there but someone apparently thought they were being cute.

This reminds me of the controversy surrounding the Moose Music Hall in the past. BP knows if their animators/programmers are trying to pull a fast one or not so I think they should handle it.

 

Love this Viking Event, and glad I can do a few rounds!! It's great that we can buy the Givers with star coins....for those of us who probably will not get to finish!

When I read FFN's comment, I too was puzzled, so I studied the Giver itself. Now I can see both sides.

So - in defense of FFN I have to say (with good natured laughter) that we ALL make mistakes and have our 'off' days and sometimes miss 'clues' such as 'sauna'! Who among us hasn't?!

Family Farm North, you just keep on posting and being yourself! If that had been an outhouse.....! I get your point!

 

LOL... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that it's called Viking Sauna because well... this is after all a Viking event, just like the Viking Tester giver was also most likely named for. I do not see the giver's name implying anything about Viking saunas being any different from any other sauna, just that it is event/theme specific. And adding steam to an already animation heavy giver may have been too much for the devs. Who knows, who cares.

And just a little FYI... my post above that you chose to quote did not in any way specifically address your feedback

 

The sauna can be seen both ways, but luckily the CR is not animated so it will only have two sheep bathing in water.

 

All my cloud rows are animated, just saying.

 

I'm really enjoying this event, it is one of my favourites. It is possible to tackle it in several ways and still get the CR and all the EP givers without too much farming time.

As I can now organise my harvesting in a more casual manner, I have decided to use just two fields, leaving the others covered in trees and animals. This means I can build up my animal stock and make use of the manure on event crops without having to pay extortionate prices for it in the Market.

If I was still working, I would use all the fields and get the crops done then convert to longer term crops to get the drops. For lower level farmers I think the drops are still an issue.

I haven't been that good at supplying the right axe components to Ingrid but she has done her best and I should manage to pick up most of the things that I want from the shop. Love that she changes her outfit as we get bullseyes from the different numbered attempts - though I noticed it a bit late and only have the bullseye in a first attempt to see the costume change! Let's hope I get lucky and get to see this outfit!
Graphics are great and the prizes are good too. Thumbs up from me.
