Butterfly Garden Strategy

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! just WOW!!!!!!!! I cant think of anything else to say that is super crazy I don't remember EVER needing that many animals or PF in a breeding event I will most definitely be sitting this one out to thank you for the numbers habalala and everyone for all your input and good luck to those going for it may the FORCE be with you ( oh and the skips too lol ) I think ill just wait for the next NEON event

 

Well color me miffed at stingy BP. I mean who has that many butterflies? Considering it was only in the last couple of weeks that you could get a butterfly stable without BBs. Not to mention the PF requirement. I mean really. I was soooooooooooooo looking forward to this event. Butterfly breeding now.

I will definitely work on a pink pen and possibly perfumery. I like the perfumery colors better than the stable colors, just saying.

 

I was looking forward to the butterfly breeding too but those totals are just outta this world

 

WoW, I thought I was so ready. Got 10 shimmery powder, 1 perfumery and 995 butterflys. I'm still thinking it through, but will probably do some breeding, go for some prizes....then go for a pink at celeb's table. I always feel happy when I get a pink stable. Aren't the numbers for most breeding events crazy high though? It's why you wait for the BBD in order to get extra animals. I just seem to remember having this conversation before and that being the case. I guess we will find out once the event happens.

 

I'm going to give it a go! I've had all my butterfly pens out since there was a glimmer of a rumor by 12ss12! Plus as most of my neighbors know, breeding events are my favorite! I hope, hope, hope we get a little teaser of an early BBD tomorrow....and that I'm up in time for it. Being a U.S West coaster, I do miss some brief events before I'm out of bed. LOL

May the butterfly skips be with us all!!! Hopefully BP will kick the skip-machine into gear....and it won't take so many reg. butterfly's!!!

Exactly what I am thinking - those who were looking forward to this event but are now thinking of selling everything and not participating, hang on and see how it goes. You might be pleasantly surprised. Don't burn your bridges ... yet!
Of course, the skips might be absolutely awful and then I will join the side of not donating anything if I can't finish the event!

But I am thinking positively and, though I am not quite so prepared as Brooke (or indeed how I am sure Broke is!), I will give it my best shot.

I have enough butterflies and shimmery powder to do the event but...........could BP be anymore stingy?

The numbers habalala and me calculated are just estimates, not taking into consideration that there will be BBD and skips coming along our routes.
After sleeping a night over the FAQs I read and the calculations, I am still not sure, if I will do the main bar... But please, don't let the numbers put you off before the event started.

I've updated the first post. It now matches the new adjusted requirements.

As Clonahmon stated as well: Keep in mind the totals there are still without any skips and Tree of Wisdom goodies. These will save a lot of butterflies and breeding and PF needed.

The rewards have improved a little as well but by far not enough for me to make it worthwhile to do this event breeding.

I actually like the setup...no breeding badges. You can opt to do the the sides or not. The breeding section is much like all our other breeding events. The numbers given as an estimate shows just how important Baby Boom is and though we talk about poor skips, they are enough to make a significant decrease in the 'base' requirements to make us all roll up our sleeves and do breeding events. I think it is too early to panic over numbers that are not going to be a true reflection of the requirements.

I do wish we were awarded higher than an orange upgrade for the stable and a yellow for the workshop, but I'm in. I'm in love with cloud rows that give something that makes my farm more efficient. Feed and breeding animals means I have to do less crops, less base stables, less milling and a big savings in PF. Winner! I really like the crates and with a row that I would harvest daily, it will add up over time to have a nice stock of a variety of level 1 animals.

Somehow in the middle of the night I ended up straddling the fence. I think my EDCD pulled me up there, or I was sleep walking . With the edits to the main progress bar requirements, and without the calculations of the required number of butterflies and PFs needed glaring at me, it isn't so scary if I think about how many breeding events and BBDs I have gone completely nuts and burned thru a couple XL PF packs breeding for Pinks in the past. Hmmm, lol...

So... with a change of attitude, I'm giving into my EOCD and admitting defeat I've changed my mind, and I will start with doing the right progress bar up to level 3 with 120 Butterflies, and just avoid the left progress bar all together and instead toss all of my millions of CCs worth of Shimmery Powders into the Glitter Party FQS and get as far as I can with what I have. I'll continue growing 3 fields of Butterflies with Valentines Pots and Cheeseballs and put 1 Manufactory back out with Perfumeries in it to try and finish the FSQ and reap all the rewards from that. I'll load my love shack full of Butterflies and let it permeate, then when BBD starts Friday I'll plan on holding onto 200 Butterflies for finishing the right progress bar along with 46 more Butterflies for the Butterfly Contest FSQ levels 1&3, then start breeding the rest of my Butterflies and hope for the best. Oh and I need to remember to activate all my CRs that shorten breeding time, help boost breeding EP, and go thru and find the ones that will shorten the grow times for the Butterflies and Perfumeries too. Oh boy!

On a happy note... with the changes that were made to the requirements for the final 3 steps... we can get that 1 Gothic Butterfly that is needed for getting the CR from the Tree of Wisdom for 50 stars. So those who are only going as far as the CR with their breeding won't have to breed up to that level 4 Butterfly, save some PFs and go buy it with stars

I agree with PnP... 1 Butterfly feed and a level 1 colored animal going into the barn every 16 hours is not a bad thing. I looked in my breeding house and was pretty surprised by how many level 1 animals I have that are mostly from the CR I have that already gives me a Crate O' Zany Animals. So.. the more the merrier, right? And I am glad they added SOME EP to the CR, but IMO they could have been a little more generous. Oh well, better than none.

Let's hope BP has listened to all the complaints about the lack of skips and gave the love shack a little tweak in our favor. With the Farm Coin Palooza thing going on, I doubt we will get a surprise BBD to start with, but we'll see. That wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit.

Thank you to ALL those who have posted their thoughts and strategies here! I do have the 80 shimmery powders as I have had 2 RED Perfumeries out since 12ss12 gave us a rumor that we might need some! I also have 2 red butterfly houses out but have a little over half the "guestamated" base butterflies!as you can see I am a small farmer and will make do with what I have!
I will wait for a Baby Boom to do some breeding and see how the skips are and go from there. I too was looking forward to the event and am a CR collector so I am disappointed in the requirements and since BP has a boss who I am sure is telling them what to do we are stuck with these requirements! BUT I do hope we all get some good skips and get surprized by how far we can go in this event!

Cough... ouch, feeding 120 butterflies to the progress bar and filling the love shack sure took a big bite out of my little Butterfly stash

And the breeding rune that gives you 20 Butterflies, 20 Pheromones, 10 PF (and a single pen) for 55 stars ​

 

Just boobed - was putting poo on the Market and then looked to see how the Shimmery Powder was going. I have been putting single lots of 10 on the Market and when it sold, putting the next lot on and thought that was what I had done. I just checked to see what the highest lot was - 100 Shimmery Powders- and it was me! At the highest price!
It will never sell!

Back to my strategy, I have collected both the packs on the Tree of Wisdom, finished left and right on the Butterfly Garden, loaded up the Motel with 50 Butterflies and waiting for BB.

 

Now we know who is hoarding all the Shimmery Powders lol .
Ouch illy, hope they sell... there's gonna be a lot of restless/impatient farmers wanting to complete that FSQ, so think positive that your lot of 100 will sell

 

I'm waiting for BBD to start before working on the main progress bar. I got lucky at the market and got shimmery powder before it went sky high. so sidebars are done. And THANK YOU to all who were discussing this event a month ago - because I've been busy making bufferflies ever since...so I'm hoping I have enough to get through when combined with BBD.

 

Can someone in the US tell me what time the BBD will start? - today or tomorrow. I get soooo confused with time. Also, if you indicat EST,CST or PST. With these I can figure out my MST. Thanks!!!

The BBD starts at 18:00 CEST = 10:00 AM MST
CEST is just the same as CET but summer time. So +1h from the basic time.
