Butterfly Garden Strategy

I only did the right side with 320 base level butterflies, and wish now I had skipped both side bars... but EOCD made me want to finish the event.

Those 320 butterflies would have made me AT LEAST 20 million CC on the market. Instead I got 300 CC X 108 (my farm level) X the 12 steps on the main progress bar... so only 388,800 CC, plus the 2 healthy treats, 2 party spins, 20 FCs, 20 SSG and 10 Stars... NOT 20 million worth in prizes, by far.

Left side needs 80 shimmery powder... worth, give or take 6 million if sold on the market... in return for 388,800 EP, 2 pink jelly, 30 SG, 30 FC and 20 PF. I refused to donate a single Shimmery powder. I will dump them into the shimmery powder FSQ. It's really eating at me that I did not finish the event, but my stubbornness overruled my EOCD for once lol.

Not a very fulfilling event for me... but others had fun, and got some good skips. Big congrats to those who did.


I bred enough butterflies to do the main progress bar of event and also accumulated enough colored butterflies to get myself thru level 7 of the butterfly FSQ, with some colored butterflies left over to sell if the prices ever come up. I also ended up with 2 Red Velvets, but I'll hang onto those and hope I pick up a couple more from the market (ha). I did not want to kill my entire 4,000+ hoard of PF so I decided to stop because the skips just were not worth going any further with trying to get a pink butterfly house or pink perfumery.
I sold around 55 million CC worth of base butterflies tho, and that made me MORE than happy, lol

 

12 - I decided not to do the side bars, because to me the prizes were not worth it. I was able to sell some of my Butterflies and Powder for 20M which I promptly spent on crops to do some of the FSQs.

Once upon a time, I would never have been able to resist doing an event when I had the supplies regardless of how worthless the prizes were. Now I am able to be more objective about what do I want to achieve. The answer for me is that I want to complete all the FSQs so this is my priority. This is the beauty of the game especially these days. We can all have different priorities and still farm together in harmony.

The bottom line is do the side bars or not depending on your priorities in the game.

 

Thanks PeepsCA & sglick. I think I will save my shimmery powder for Glitter FSQ which gives stars & harvest coupouns. Thanks for helping me decide. I made 174 million CCs selling butterflies. Earlier I had 40 million CCs which I spent buying butterflies & stocking up my barn with other items too. I now and then try to buy some animals that have not been put to breeding & also low priced products. That's how we can acquire a considerable amount of animals over a long period of time and can sell them when the right time comes. So started the event with 2 million & odd ccs. Have 224.5 million CCs now. I still have 1200 butterflies and might sell them too. So I will skip the side bars and do the main bars. Special thanks to farmer_broke for teaching marketing.

Broke tried to teach me, but my FSQ obsessions keeps getting in the way. LOL My rule is I have a base of 100M. Anything over that I can waste on buying FSQ stuff.

 

Somehow managed to breed a Virtual Butterfly from 4 Gothics the hard way. FOCD
I did just the center column on the quest.

 

I didn't do the event in the end but I did breed butterflies instead of selling them. I just decided the prizes were not worth it. Now I'm kind of wishing I had sold basics instead of breeding them but not much to do about it now. I did get one amazing skip to a cyber butterfly from 4 basics.

 

Took me 236 Butterflies, but I did it. I finished the CR. Took a lot of PF tho. So next time I rather have more base animals so I can have more skips from base.

Was it worth it ? hmmm, good question.

 

I finished event yesterday Just the main part though. Couldn't bring myself to donating product or butterflies for what I feel is very little rewards. Now I feel foolish for being in such a shock at the original numbers. I know they were figured on no skips or BBD but maybe it's one of those times where it's less scary for me if I don't know all the facts!!

 

Often, the less I know. The better off I am.

 

I finished the event this morning. I donated to the right and left side then did the main event. I started with 686 butterflies but down to 186 now. I had some great skips during BBD. I got the butterflies from the breeding rune and Gothic butterfly from the wisdom tree. Cloud row up and running.

 

There was a time when having 50,000 CC was a wealth to me. So I didn't care about dropping to 2 million CC from 40 Million CC. I knew I would atleast make more than that. You have FSQOCD ! I have EOCD & FOCD but not FSQOCD. Each one has his/her own OCD - one illness which rampantly prevalent over entire Farmerama.

Banjamon, I got a Red Velvet Butterfly from breeding 4 gothics. Yours was hard but successful. Mine wasn't. Now I have search for 3 Red Velvet Butterflies.

Someone put Virtual Butterfly for 1.7 million CC & I manged to seize it. The easy way, Banjoman !
