Well done BP on an event where we dont have to rip fields up. Everything a bonus to me......

Well apart from 3 donatable gifts and can only donate 1 to our neighbours

 

I have a question. Is it possible NOT to win star coins for each catch? It appears that you receive one random gift not one random gift + some star coins to purchase things in the shop.

 

I am really enjoying the fact that all our drops come from whatever we want to put in our fields so we can carry on with whatever projects we have going on.

I can't remember the last fishing events but I am also liking that we get extra prizes for whatever fish we net (did we have this before? ).
I have only one gripe and it's the same ol' same ol' - milling!
Oh well, can't have everything!

 

I love everything about this event - except for the milling, but at least we can use Baha for that. Drops that come from everything, no event crop, allows for regular farming of all kinds while still having an event. The mechanism itself is always fun, although there is no correlation between what you click and what fish you get. Which is good - it doesn't require any real skill which makes it easier. I love that we get the prizes based upon how many games we play, and that there are other prizes for what you catch. Personally I love random prizes. I know a lot of people do not, but I enjoy that moment of "what is it going to be". Most of all, I loved that with the first morning's harvest I was able to make fifteen lures, thus creating enjoyment within minutes of harvesting - which makes me really committed to doing all I can with this event. Well done. More like this, please.

 

I was wondering the same thing Chloe3456. The way it is set up is virtually impossible to 'bank' on getting coins to buy old CR or givers, unless you want to use farmcup coins. I agree with you, it should be a random gift plus some coins to use in the shop.

 

The coins are the same coins we use in the Farmcup Event. You can get them by playing the football mini game.

 

Thanks Greek-Guy, but I am already aware of this, as mentioned in my previous post.

There is an old CR that I would like to get in the fishing event shop, but have already earmarked rewards that I want in the farmcup event shop. I won't be able to win enough coins from the farmcup event to spend in the fishing event shop to get this CR and givers, plus get the rewards I want in the farmcup shop.

I don't think this is fair - we should be able to receive some coins, in addition to the crate, to use in the fishing event shop. This would make it easier for those who did not have a chance to win previous fishing CRs. I like the idea that we can use farmcup coins in the fishing shop, however, they are two separate events and additional coins should be rewarded for the fishing event to spend in this shop.

 

Unfortunately, it is completely logical that it is so hard to earn coins in the Fishing Event. A lot of people would use them for the Football Shop and the mini game would become less useful.

For me, it would be better for us to have 2 kind of coins for each event. They would let us earn coins for the Angling Shop easier. Now we are forced to "choose one or the other", like what happens in the Farmcup where 2 events essentially take place (stage customer & quests on society).

 

You're so right Greek-Guy - we ARE being forced to 'choose one or the other'. Maybe this is the way for future events - make a choice or spend $$ to have the privilege of winning both. On the bright side, my decision-making skills will improve and my $avings will grow!!!

 

I really like the drops-only structure, however, I hate that crystal falls aren't included - that's where the majority of my baha trees are so I'm missing out on a lot of drops there. Out of curiosity, what's the justification behind that? I realise that not all players have crystal falls open, but equally, not all players will have the rainforest, green meadow or magical glade open, yet these fields yield drops. Where's the logic?

Also not sure I'm a fan of the structure regarding star coins. Don't get me wrong, I love the extra prizes, but I'd prefer if we could purchase them from the angling shop using star coins won through fishing. Many of the prizes are good, but they're not necessarily things I need or want desperately - I'd prefer to be able to pick and choose what I get.

Unlike others I have no problem with milling - it takes only a few seconds to minutes, even when milling in batches, so with the exception of having to wait for a large batch of regular feed to finish up (which isn't happening on my mainland right now), it's really not that big a hassle

 

Regarding the Star Coins I actually would prefer if we had only BB and CC but that won't happen. So instead of all he different types I would prefer to have an EC (Event Coins). There are just too many things: and sometimes they are turned in at the end of the event instead of going into inventory. The ECs could be used for all of the shops and we would do away with Farm Coins, Star Coins, Renzo Chips, etc.

This event says that Star Coins will be exchanged at the end of the event so I have purchased the EPs even though I don't need them. Maybe I can use them during G&T. If we had one type I could have saved them up for Renzo's Shop or for when items are added that require coins to open (possibly upper level of Crystal Falls).

UPDATE: CR up and running and have been working on Quests the whole time. There should be more of these types of events.

 

I did not know about the "sharing" of star coins in these two events. I'm furious with BP, yet again. Can someone tell me where this is posted? I just blew my coins on crap from the soccer event shop when I wanted to get the cloud row. Now I am at ZERO!! Totally frustrating - again. Need some blood pressure pills now.

Your question was answered here, and discussed in the strategy thread. However, the onus should not be on the players to read through the general questions to find relevant information. This should have been included in the FAQ.

said it all! great event, fast moving, does not require tearing the farm apart to attend to endless requiremnts! Love that i could work simple bates to secure the CR and now i have time to produce better ones to just play for better prizes!!!

i actually like that we have the same currency for both games. two ways to earn coins towards whatever I want the most. Like others said, i would like to have known i could actually use those soccer coins towards the old Fishing CR!!

 

It should have been made clear as to what was going to happen to the star coins from the Soccer event and the Fishing event. I spent all my star coins believing they would disappear after the Soccer event. I/We were mislead as to what was really going on. I feel deceived again. I re-read thru the Fishing event and did not see this listed. It should have been posted LOUD and CLEAR that these two event rewards will be combined!!! How foolish of BP to do this!! Especially since it was not made clear to most of us. They owe us some star coins!!! This is their error for not being clear!

 

This used to be a fun game. If you fished well, you could count on lots of coins for your efforts. Now there is no point to fishing well as you only get random prizes. The prizes in the shop if you were lucky enough to get coins, stink. To get the CR, you probably should only have made the basic lure. No reason to make the better ones. Big thumbs down.

 

I used to enjoy the fishing game, but this time it was different. It didn't matter if I got a perfect hit or hit in the outer or inner rim - the perfect hit often gave me a lower grade fish and the outer rims gave me some marlins. I got to the point where I didn't care where I hit because with my experience, it didn't make any difference.

I like games where some skill is needed, something to aim for - not just 'luck of the draw' . While I'm at it, I also used to enjoy the full soccer game - there were only about six or so types in this short game and by the end, no skill was needed because it was repetitive and no fun whatsoever. Please bring back some skills games - it's boring otherwise.

Another thing I did not like was the fact that there were only givers and CRs in the shop, however, I did manage to get an old CR which was the only plus side to this event. I also didn't like that the chance of coins in this event was very rare and our prizes were forced.

Events these days......….sigh.

Anyway, that's my two cents worth.

 

I loved the fishing event only made fishing lures so got my cloud row up and running quite quickly. I was more than happy with the prizes I got from the fish.

BP you really spoiled the event by having only cloud row/items as prizes.
40 hours of fishing left and the football shop is closed.

 

Totally disappointed with this event. Two thumbs-down. You are giving coins as the rewards but what am I supposed to do with them? Shop is extremely poor, only decorations. I already have all CRs you offer, I also already have tens of decorations sitting in my inventory. What do I need more decorations for?... What happened to farm coins, stars, golden bananas etc... they all should be available in the shop as well. The mechanism you introduced does not work for us, please go back to giving just silver coins and put the rewords in the shop.
