So I will do the event with one field for now.

 

has anybody started to donate yet? I have I got the first step on the 2nd and 3rd one done and not quite the 1st step done on the first building but close

 

About an hour after the start I did spent little pocket $ to buy the legend package and now enjoy +3 on all field crops, with CAC it's +5, along with burning some SG and SSG (making it a whooping +7) because I'm going on vacation soon and willing to start fresh on return, I'm done with step 6 on all three buildings.

I've noticed this event is all about the drops. Drop rate so far is pretty low. Without a doubt it's wise to reserve a field and start growing long timed crops (+6:30hr) at an early stage. This means more event crop harvests from a single field are needed but, right now, there's plenty of time left to do so. Just my advice.

With temps here heading to the mid 90s (33C and up) I have not many plans for outdoor activities. I might be found at the beach this weekend thou

Did your +3 work on the mm crop fields as well? Just wondering!

 

Wow - I had to go out of town unexpectedly and came back to all kinds of stuff! (Sorry neighbors for lack of gifting - it was unavoidable) I still have some MM fields not open - the CR with the reduced time for Moonlight pens is tempting - but I think I will focus on opening up my fields. Payoff later will be better. Should make good progress in 5 days except for maybe Cat Fairies. One pen doesn't produce enough.

Mine did... It starts as soon as you make the purchase.
That was +3 on crops and +3 on tree fruit.

 

Is any one getting poor drops of obsidian. It is awful drop rate at

 

My drops are awful. I have 202 obsidian and 7445 in event crop.

 

The event lasts 6 days, in less than a day you have got over 200 drops, so you are right on track to get at least 6*200 = 1200 drops, which is more than the requirement. What is awful?

 

As Joan stated, it does. It also works on the event plant!

 

For me it would be a lost CR if I calculated with a constant drop rate, I have experienced everything from 20 % and higher of the lowest drop rate when compared with the highest DR, a kind of (flattened) U shape of the return curve. With exactly the same crop. It makes the events more difficult to calculate, but of course more exciting in a world of never ending harvesting. Often the last bit of the event has the highest drop rate, which makes one overdo the drop collecting. I have passed 200 drops but know that leaner days just begins ......

My drops are around 3.7% of my total harvests and that's baaaaad even though I set out Duskshadow bloom while I was at work to pick it up. It should be a normal 9-10% out of 30... My farming legend rune has died or the droprat really is a droprat.
Joan, the curtain was to disguise how loud it looks! I don't know if I want to set it out on my field waiting to get to level 40 (to be able to move it to the playground) for it or not; got alot of other things to tend to.

 

Although initially I was going to go for the CR, I only have 1 and a bit MM fields open, and I have spent the first part of the event growing crops to get a couple more creepy willow trees. So, after checking out the requirements vs rewards again, I have decided to concentrate on getting more of the Mushroom Forest open but also play the event to complete enough to get the F.C from Eerie structure 1, and the factory upgrades from 2 and 3. Although the CR would've been nice, the stable times aren't that long anyway and if I need to boost them I just use PF on them.
I also bought the package with the new pet and +3 crops/trees in. Love the new Ladybug pet .

Any extra drops of obsidian sent my way will be much appreciated .

 

The event is 6 days long for most ppl. According to the OP we need 1140 drops to complete the whole event.
1140 /6d= 190 average drops per day to complete or
1140 /144h= 7.917 drops per hour. If using water on event crop that's about 32 drops AVERAGE per harvest.
Since I live on the wrong side of the planet and have a pretty demanding RL I'm hoping for something more like:
1140 /5d= 228 drops per day or
1140 /120h= 9.5 drops per hour

I have 30% LL rune on all three farms but I don't think it applies to the MM fields and of course there aren't any Howies in play. So...
The best way to improve drops is to reduce growing time and harvest on time. As usual an idle farm is not a productive farm. For event crops that means... water, manure (expensive), SG (can get quite expensive). Trees... tree mulch. Pens... water, PF. Or spend RM on baskets, etc.
For myself I will wait until I finish growing event crops then I will use CR and Terror Bouquet on my regular MM crops. I still have some FSQs to work on. Something about an... ember tree...
I have all of both fields open on all three farms. Someone already reported that will be about 8 harvests of event crops to complete. If only one field open that would be 16 +/- harvests.

Last night I grew two rounds of 8h crops with water. I will do the same tonight.
My three farms with 115h remaining...
Farm 1: 295 drops
Farm 2: 266
Farm 3: 331
I don't know why Farm 3 tends to have the highest drop rate. But it's pretty typical of my numbers.
I had 8h crops in the fields at start of event.
As usual I have not bought any baskets, etc.
So depending on RL I'm on pace to finish the event on the last day. Maybe sooner if I have time to speed regular MM crops and harvest them on time later in the event.

Are we supposed to get them from regular fields too??

 

no fun2farm just all the MM fields and the magic trees im not getting good drops either even using 8hr crops

 

This spooky drop rat roaming our MM fields has gone mad or insists to be a creep, no matter how loud our screams are.

A full field with
8:00 hr Glow Mold gave 20 and 22 drops.
3:30 hr Braincoli gave 17 and 11 drops,
0:10 hr Killer Tomatoes gave 1-3 drops per harvest.

Guess it doesn't matter much what we grow but growing mid timed crops seem to give the better results on my farm.

Arghhh just realised CAC doesn't work on MM fields...keep forgetting .

There are no Vampire Serum to buy on my market .


If anyone is able to make Vampire Serum or is willing to buy it and send me it I will gladly send back zucchini apple bread which is currently selling on my market for over 400,000! (If you see this as a suitable trade...please ask if there's something else you'd prefer and I'll see what I can do ).

I've used my gifts today but can send next time round. If anyone is able and willing to do this send me an IGM and we can arrange a trade off .
