I am in the same boat as you my fellow peeps. Until the drop of lamp improve. Most of them are given to me by neighbours. I advice you all do same same plus use SOS Thread too

@fifitrixiebell, if it were just items and other goodies commonly awarded I could agree, but the factory upgrades are something new and special. We don't even know if we'll eventually be able to complete the factory fully (without buying) if we miss an upgrade from an event. Maybe not a big deal to everyone, but for those striving to have the best givers and get as much EP as possible it is not the same as missing out on some wonder stables or even PF.

 

It hasn't been posted anywhere yet but I will not raise an eyebrow when I read

To get all the drops needed to feed Djinn Bear in the Faramanan Nights Event, it has been extended till the end of this year. We can only hope this extention will be enough. Strategy advise: forget feeding Djinn, focus on what is possible to achieve.

OMG I totally missed this!!! thanks for bringing this to my attention, boy I feel totally stupid, LOL I had no idea, I totally misread this FAQ LOL, thanks again!!!

 

This would only work if we get to keep feeding the little guys... and get lots of lamps from them. My Plantation of 188, 20 hr. trees gave me 2 lamps. Switched to Hippos and Seals with Goji trees around the edge. Will see if this gives more than 2 lamps.

I have flown 39 otter, and lit up 11 bears. All the givers are on Moonlight Mansion.

 

So far, I have just 11 lamps. I grew saguaros to start the event. Have 1 field of trees and 2 fields of crops. I have 2700 of the 9 hour cactus so when I have enough, I will hopefully switch to something that gets more lamps. I place a long time crop over night depending on the time left after doing event 9 hour crop.

 

Sunshine - I think we only get the lamps on trees & workshops - not crops.

look like the otterdin is generous, he give me 3 gift with 2 lamp each
which mean I can feed the bear once again
right now, I had feed otterdin 23 times.
Hope I could get more lamp from the remain feeding

Uptill now, I had feed bear 7 times which 2 from gift of otterdin
What a laugh for this event

However, I really happy that the bear is nothing relate with the CR.
Infact, I don’t care the reward of bear, those facotry upgrade is not a MUST!
I can leave without it, if finally, I am lucky enough to get 1 at end of event, that’s fine...
If not, it doesn’t matter, no big deal!
NO FOCD is really a good manner for me.

 

Here is a strategy I wouldn't normally use, but with the droprat away on holiday...

Open a new farm. Get it to level 14 somehow (if you for instance send it a quiche and Honey-infused banana jam it 'll get there instantly). Refresh to see lamps among the gift options. Send out all 5 neighbor gifts. Now the farm can send additional lamps for 5 BB each. During the tutorial the farm will receive 30 BB from a quest, 12 more when leveling up. Do the first level of the restaurant quest and the farm has 52 BB, enough for 10 extra lamps that you may send to your main farm (or share with friends/neighbors). If the lamps are sent with BBs you can receive more than 20 a day. Repeat as often as you care for.

I believe the best way to actually finish both donations for this event is to continuously grow event crops and donate to Otterdin. I've received more lamps from donating this way than I have with fields full of Arbors, Manu's, and Menage's. This includes a full 3 field prep and drop buffs from the start of the event. I'll be switching over to full 1x1 fields to increase my ability to donate to the Otter.

I'm not sure how far I'll get, but I have no worries I'll be getting the CR and at least one set of givers. Everything after that is gravy.

There's a lot of talk about the Lamp Drop,If you're aiming for the CR like mi the Needle Drop is the better preferred Drop,I've given a few Lamps to whatever that genie is called? & the rewards have been poor anyway!,So really what I'm saying is there's no big deal.(well for mi anyway),If you're going for the CR Gift the Needle.
Unless I'm missing something?,If not again I don't see the big deal?

EDIT:-Oh I see the Factory Upgrades are why fellow Farmers want the Lamps,I thought they were Rewards on the CR row,Still I don't like the whole Factory addition anyway as I thought it was a Farming game!,Well it is it just seems to be loosing that original touch sometimes.

 

@-Mir85- , yep totally understand that. I was just making those who were worried about not getting the CR and givers aware that they don't actually have to donate anything to Djinn to get them .

@sebe96 , you're most welcome! I didn't want to seem like I was teaching a granny to suck eggs but I too didn't realise until I re-read the FAQ's so thought I'd just point it out.

 

I had paly so far 23game for the outterdin.
I was quite shock that I totally got 8 lamp rewards (6 X 2 lamp; 2X 4 lamp)
that give me 20 lamps.. which I cannot get such amount from drops or neighbor gift.
Is it joking!!!
I wonder if there is any tricky on the reward pool... Do BP interfere the ratio

 

I have only seen my 2 sons once since Christmas because it involves an 11 hour trip and a lot of money to fly home. They arrived last night. So refuse to spend my time glued to a guessing game while they are here.
Right now I need 15 outterdins I have all the crops.
Need 33 bears or 198 magic lamps.
So planted trees and stables I need on Baha and will hope for the best.

My strategy... to grow the 9h crop because it's the longest and gives me the fewest interruptions to RL. I would be happier with a 15-16h crop so I only had to harvest twice a day instead of three times a day but... oh well...

Yesterday I was debating whether to switch to critters and trees instead of event crops today. But... I too noticed the potential for getting more magic lanterns from Otter-din than neighbors, that doesn't mean I'm not thankful for the gifts my neighbors send, or fields. I've decided to stick with milling magic carpets, just like a couple of ppl have already mentioned. Que sera sera... (that's the extent of my Italian, and I learned it from a song, lol) what will be, will be. But I do love a challenge so I will try to get as far as possible in the time remaining after I get the CR. Extra prizes... can't complain about that...
When I read the FAQ I thought the D-bear rewards would be a lot better but in reality, they've been lackluster so far. I'm more impressed with the rewards from Otter-din.

Before I opened a bunch of other farms for the sole purpose of sending myself one drop per day from that farm... I'd buy the baskets. For $12.99 I can get 11 magic carpets, 40 magic lanterns, and 100 needles... that's easily 7+ D-bear levels, based on my numbers so far. Minimum wage is around $10-15h in USA. So for one hours work one can get a big jump on D-bear. I personally will not waste my money or time on extremes like that to advance in an imaginary game. My time and money are too precious to me. But you have something to compare to. The extra givers and upgrades would be nice but... not that nice for me. Rare drops were undoubtedly introduced to entice ppl to spend RM. Pretty sure one can only send one drop to each farm per day so I don't see the point of the extra farms. One would have to have 20 farms to benefit one farm. Having three farms is stupid... lol... more than that... totally insane... and a waste of life. I'd rather be doing something worthwhile and productive with my time like gardening (can't right now because of bad air alerts, crafting or sewing, OR doing volunteer work, etc...

Farm 2: Otter-din 35/58 w/ 8 carpets in the mill, D-bear 6/42
Farm 3: Otter-din 44/58, D-bear 9/42
CR is near. The rest... is unpredictable and no biggie...

 

So far I am able to do only one harvest per day. May be tomorrow I will put out stalls & trees to collect lantern for the genie/djiin.

 

Nice try but nothing to do with protest 'cause we are allowed playing more than 1 farm & pushing our farms anyway. What, if the big (tricky) plan is actually to motivate farmer to open new farms -> registrations?
