Farmaramian Nights Strategy Thread

I knew I was going away for the weekend with no computer. (It was such a relaxing and wonderful weekend. Yea!)

So in preparation, I used SG to grow a ton of Junkes. I over grew by 2000 - what a waste of my precious SG. Me and math do not get along especially when I do not even bother looking at the numbers you'll so generously crunched for us.

When I got home last night I got enough needles to get the CR. I will continue to make Magic Carpets as the needles come in to use up those event crops.

My big disappointment along with everyone else was the Lamps. In preparation, I planted trees on all 3 fields. I did not really know, but I was hoping my tree auto-harvester feature would aut harvest the drops. It did not since each full field of trees only gave 2 lamps each. Boo-hoo!!!

The other thing in preparation was to go to the SOS thread and ask for Lamps. You'all are so wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happily annoyed last night when I could not harvest my fields, because more drop messages kept coming in. Thank-you!!!!!!!! I need like 5 more lamps to get the 1st Factory upgrade Yea! I consider myself very blessed to have so many good friends!!!

Goodness, well done Sglick I don't think I'll get close to first upgrade and that's playing round the clock... well almost Not a great event for me at all. Stupid requirements for the bear.

 

Well, I was playing round the clock. Just did my last collection with about 8 hours to go. Off to eat dinner, relax and then bed. I got the cloud row days ago and I got 17/42 on the second part, I needed about 150 more oil lamps. I may just start doing more of that instead of obsessing about completing the events.

 

I finished a couple of days ago, one thing for sure they called those magic lamps rare for good reason. 90% I think were from my neighbors. It didn't matter what you put out for crops...chayote, etc. you would get one per field if you were lucky. and I wasn't about to set out more 9 hour event crops. alas I got 13 gifts on that the djinn (or djion!)..very low odds for an extra prize.

 

I got the CR but will be lucky if I get the first factory upgrade.

I tried planting trees to increase chance of getting Magic Lanterns and also to get more needles to mill them but I think I would have been better off planting crops for the needles to mill the carpets and get the Lanterns from the Otterdins.

The Event FAQ stated things correctly but I think it was a bit misleading because my trees/stables and workshops provided only a couple of Lanterns during the entire event (all 3 farms) so it would have been better to go with crops and get them from the Otterdins who gave 2 or 4 when they gave them (more frequently then getting them from harvesting trees/stables/workshops).

 

It was completed without spending money. Thanks to everyone who helped.

 

I was in need of just 1 Lamp and there came MIR with a timely Gift...Thanks Mir...Your Gift made me go upto 2nd Factory upgrade.

 

got the CR but will not get any factory upgrades.

Finished the CR for both farms on day 3. Have tried (like everyone else) to find that special combination to get magic lamps.

Both farms finished milling carpets with just over an hour left in the event.
Pnp finished the event with both curtain upgrades due to wonderful friends and neighbors

BillyWhiskers lacks just 8 magic lamps to reach the first curtain upgrade. So close....

Edit: Thank you to those who were online and had spare gifts at the last minute to share. BW made the first curtain upgrade

 

Too bad those Mods didn't say how they were getting such high numbers for their Dbear feedings...
I suspect it involved SG and/or baskets.

As usual I didn't buy any baskets. I thought about using SG but I didn't feel like harvesting more frequently than three times a day. I was getting enough needles to make about 7-8 magic carpets from each harvest. For that OtterD gave me 0-12 magic lanterns.

My final results...
CR on each farm.
Farm 1: 15/42 Dbear feedings
Farm 2: 16/42 Dbear feedings
Farm 3: 20/42 Dbear feedings

With 10h left I'm done with the event. Time for bed. Probably won't wake up in time for any m

Probably not of much interest any more, but just for the record. (In case we ever get such an event again I might want to look up the numbers.)

I grew event crops on two fields, took me around 30 hours to grow enough. After that I switched the two fields to stalls with trees along the edges. Third field was stables/trees for the duration.

From my farm I got 113 magic lamp. That's drops from trees/stables + the lamps I got from Otterdin (only gave him the 58 required carpets).

In theory I could have finished the event with those drops if I had gotten 20 gifts a day from neighbors and friends. Even though the event lasts 6 days, you can send gifts on 7 days, thus 140 in total. There is no reason however that I should get so may gifts, when I only have 7 to send out myself. So in reality with the gifts I got I would have gotten the first upgrade, but not much more.

I finished the event as I suggested earlier, opening new farms and buying neighbor gifts to send from them with the free BBs. I don't think that's a good way to play an event, but then again it was not a good event to play
