Just wondering (haven't finished my 1st cup of caffeine yet)...do we get all 3 CR's...or do we have to choose?:music:

    p.s. Suzee - I loved the Smother Brothers!!!!!:inlove: hysterical!!xDxDxD

There is so much randomness it is difficult to make a strategy yet. For now I've planted trees on two fields, magical glades is mostly stables with trees on edges as usual. Further approach will depend on droprate. If droprate is low I might generate glue pots with sg and instant crops. If it is high I'll grow normal crops.

Depending on droprate, how many boxes we get and how many seeds are in the boxes, I might try to grow all "in one go" with sg. If all 60 mini games are played in quick succession we get a total +9 bonus on the event crops for 4 hours, then +6 for almost another 4 hours (depending on how long the games take to play). CAC adds +2 to that. Might be worthwhile to grow with sg on 2x2 fields. But it all depends...

The CRs this time are great, I want all of them :p So I'm willing to spend sg if that's what it takes.

Brookeham, if you complete all tasks you get all cloudrows :)

    Thanks Mir! ;)

This will be an interesting event. Looks and sounds like we're going to need each other's help/advice from what works and what doesn't more than ever before. I hope some farmers do list event crops for sale in the market. Prices will probably be ridiculous!:p
I'm the most excited at the prospect of getting a spring wreath every 12 hours!:music:

    Good luck everyone!

The DE FAQ lists the EV for the event crops:

    Waterberry 13
    Valley Rose 20
    Prickly Fungus 27

If the market works as usual, market prices start at EV, then go slowly upwards with demand. If so, I doubt many will be willing to sell event crops for a few CCs :sleepy: clonahmon posted a question about the market prices in general issues, so maybe the mods will come back with some more info before event start.

I'm all in too! I love all 3 rows and the Spring wreath is most attractive to me. :inlove: They are so expensive to buy and take so much to craft.

Will be getting a late start due to real life hospital tests but have put out long trees (goat willow is 22 hours and birch 21 hours) and will plant my longest crop. The only stables and workshops kept are what is in the storage facilities (I never take them down). Thank you to all who have helped clarify what we need to do and at least have a good starting point.

Let's hope all the random factors in this event are much better than the last one;)

Good luck to us all! Though a bit confusing, I think this event could be a lot of fun. I like the new dynamics of it combined with the familiar Treasure hunt.

Edit: While we don't know the crop market pricing, the CC you get from the market will be better than what you gain from the exchange if you have leftovers. For me....I will grow all my seeds and if I have extra, I will put them up for sale to hopefully help someone who needs it. I only hope we all get different 'extras' so we can help each other out.

Thanks for all the number crunching & strategy. Reading thru the FAQ several times gave me a headache. :wuerg::cry:

But thru the fog decided farmer_broke's past strategy in other events [NO HURRY HURRY TO GROW JUNKS] may work best. Will spend 1st couple of days going for drops & milling Portable Greenhouses. Will WAIT TO PLAY ANY mini-games!!!

Would like to play all 60 at one time to take maximum advantage of buff rewards. Open herb crates & plant on 1x1's with CAC & SG & SSG if possible. Since harvested seeds can not be replanted, it is impossible to build up stock of planting seeds. The more herb crates you can open at the same time the better the odds will give all seeds in relatively equal amounts. MAYBE! :wuerg:
Will see how drop rat is working, but will not worry about planting junks until last couple of days in the event. No hurry, hurry! ;)
Good Luck to everyone giving this event a go. May the drop rat be generous. :p

Thanks everyone for your contributions here.

This will be the last event I can do before I'll be gone on vacation for a few weeks. I plan to get it all.
I would like to collect all drops needed for 60 mini games first but then there might not be enough event time left to grow all event plants needed for the second fase. So I had a look at the mini game goodies and decided to break the event down to 4 steps, which all come down to collecting enough drops to make it to the next and eventually to the final step.

    STEP 1
    Collect 112 Glue Pots + 91 Broken Glass => play 8 mini games (1 for free) -> +1 event crop (8 hrs) + 100% EP event crop
Collect boxes, open them, grow event plants, use CAC, SSG, SG only if needed

    STEP 2
Collect additional 368 Glue Pots + 299 Broken Glass => play up to 31 mini games -> +2 event crop (8hrs) + 100% EP event crop
Collect boxes, open them, grow event plants, use CAC, SSG, SG only if needed

    STEP 3
Collect additional 256 Glue Pots + 208 Broken Glass => play up to 47 mini games -> +3 event crop (4 hrs)
Collect boxes, open them, grow event plants, use CAC, SSG, SG on 6 and 8 hrs event crop

    STEP 4
Collect additional 208 Glue Pots + 169 Broken Glass => play up to 60 mini games -> +3 event crop (8hrs)
Collect boxes, open them grow event plants, use CAC, SSG, SG only if needed

Ofcourse on each step I'll take note on what event plant and how many are still needed. Good hopes it'll work out and will provide all event crops needed to do the final STEP, donating event crops, all 75 tasks, in one run.

Depending on drops needed I'll fill my mainlands with crops or stalls or a mix. Never been happy with the poor drop rate on trees.

Good luck everyone, hope the drops and herbs cause you to smile.
If not, have a look in a mirror at silly you. :)

My refined approach thanks to the influence of habalala:

    STEP 1

Collect one free whatever => play 1 mini game => collect whatever it is => finished xD

Have fun doing whatever it is you are doing.

After last event when I bombed out on the magic lamps I wondered if it could get any harder. I have my answer. I'll be up early so I'll harvest my production pens then. the drops better be amazing or I'll have to take drastic measures..like complaining bitterly. last event I couldn't get a drop to save my life.
Is there anywhere it says we cannot use CAC or SG, SSG? if not I'm not going to drag this out like the farmerama cup on a hundred plants a day I'll bail and sell the crops.

    Some observations after event start:
    • Droprate seems good, even from stables. I've changed the two tree fields to stables with trees along the edges, as stables give both drops. I expect no problem with getting enough drops, but next harvest should give an indication of how long it'll take.
    • The canceling trick still works, but it can take a while to find the treasure on first or second dig. It took me 4 minutes to play 6 games.
    • Average crops per 8 crates: between 12 and 13. Data gathered from reports in DE forum.
    • I've made a plan to activate all the crop bonuses "at once" and grow the crops with SG. With a little over 500 SG one gets enough crops to complete the event. I'll post it in a little while.
I did some calculations. With only 12-13 crops per 8 crates you'll probably need more than 60 minigames to finish the event this way. Just a heads up.

Okay, so I tried the mini-game. I finally gave up and got it on the 4th turn. I haven't tried on my other farm... You CAN technically back out and go back in until you get it in two turns, but it could take hours. I gave up after 5 minutes. So they didn't fix the loophole, but maybe they did?

Edited to add: On the other farm, I've played 6 mini games: took as many as 22 tries and as few as 1 - so it's doable. With patience the loophole still works.

    tried the minigame 7 times.
got 6 or 8 boxes. average number of seeds received: 1.48!
I know, that it is early in the event, but if the average number of seeds is not going up, it will take ages.
I think, I know now, why it is classed as "very hard" in the german forum ;)

    Good luck everybody

My plan for growing event crops, requires 529 SG (or 344* SG) :

    Need:
    • SG buffs: white innocence, fruit cake (and chestnut CR <- not necessary).
    • Plots on farm: 120 2x2 plots, 10 2x1 plots, 55 1x1 plots **
    • Seeds for sowing: Waterberry 185, Valley rose 164, Prickly fungus 180

With 12-13 crops per 8 crates, I'll have enough of at least one type of seed after the first 46 crates. Will use the canceling trick to get 8 crates from each game until I have the required amounts. After that the games can be played quicker without canceling.

I'll start by collecting drops and mill greenhouses until I have 60. Then find a convenient time to be near the computer for around 4 hours (after finishing treasure hunting, only for harvesting and resowing).

    What to do:
    • Play up to 46 games.
    • As soon as I have 180 prickly fungus***, sow them on the plots mentioned (only 50 1x1 plots needed).
    • Wait until prickly fungus is almost ready.
    • Play remaining games.
    • Check that correct amounts shows: 16 crops on 2x2, 14 crops on 2x1, 13 crops on 1x1 (with CAC).
    • Harvest.
    • Sow and harvest Valley rose (only 34 1x1 plots needed)
    • Sow and harvest Waterberry.
    • With SG they should all be done before the 4hr bonus runs out.
    • Finish the 75 tasks and I'm done!

    * If you want to save one round of SG you can instead plant waterberry first, with water (and possibly manure) only. Wait for it to be almost ready before playing the last 14 games and proceed as above.

** I have some menageries and manufactories I don't want to take down, thus only 120 2x2 plots. Alternatively you can use 128 2x2, 15 2x1 and 40 1x1. Then you'll need 183 Waterberry, 161 Valley rose and 178 Prickly fungus. SG requirement drops to 522 (or 339). OR you can use 2x2 plots only. Then you'll need 4 rounds, planting 174 Waterberry, 156 Valley rose and 170 Prickly fungus. Make sure to harvest on time so the bonus doesn't run out before you finish.

*** In case I don't have 180 prickly fungus after 46 games, I'll sow one of the other crops first. I'm bound to have enough of one of them at least.

My strategy to get 8 crates every mini game is to do 2 clicks and if the treasure chest is not found out, close the event window and once again start the mini game. If you close and open the event window during half of the mini game, the mini-game starts from first. Repeat the trick once again if you don't get the treasure chest. Try till you do it in 2 steps.

So far I played 7 mini-games. Using the above strategy I got 8 treasure chests in 6 mini games. First mini game I was impatient and opened it in 3 steps. There after I was patient and kept on retrying till I finished the mini game in 2 steps. So so far got 62 crates.

-Mir- I adore and admire the way you share your plan in detail and althou I have my concerns I sure hope it'll work out!
    46 games * 8 crates = 368 crates/180 prickly fungus = just over 2 prickly fungus per crate needed as a reward.

I think that's the tricky part the Game Team uses this event to make us buy, as so far my rewards are for

    Prickly fungus = 1 in 16 crates..
    Valley Rose = 6 in 16 crates
    Waterberry = 17 in 16 crates

2 games played, 16 crates opened, 24 seeds recieved, avg. 12 per game

Yup, I (and I fear many many others) definately have to play over 60 games just to get all the needed seeds.

Yup, I refuse to buy baskets.

If others want to share their results for the seeds they recieved from the crates, please do!
My result of 16 crates only isn't worth much :)

My records are not as detailed as your, but here goes:
    from 28 crates:
    18 prickly fungus
    8 water berry
    12 valley rose

    that's 1.36 seeds/crate
    9.5 seeds/game
