    Eggs per chicken per day = 1.5/1.5/1.5 = .67

    So....for a single chicken to lay 12 eggs: (.67)(1)/(12)= 18 days

    *********************************************************

Regular Egg farm: 12 days :p
Pink Egg farm: 6 daysxDxDxD But you need more than 1 chicken;):pxD

Math-wise, I'm getting the same answer as Elemeef: 18 days.
But we all know that in Farmerama-land, the chickens wouldn't have to produce any eggs because eggs grow on trees. :p

Or we can get all of the eggs from the market within seconds. :pxD broke strategy.xD

  7. 18 days.
1 chicken , one egg in 1.5 days.
So multiply 1.5 by 12=18 days.
Can't be called fresh eggs anymore.

    xristos-ale3andros: The 1.5 chicken(s?) produced 1.5 egg(s?) in 1.5 days. Me, I'm leaning towards 8. (Or perhaps 12!) :wuerg:

  9. Hehehehe simplification while maintaining the units
1.5 chickens produce 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days >>>> 1 chicken will produce 1 egg in 1.5 days.

Oh my, my head is spinning! I keep imagining half a chicken laying half an egg - in half a day (perhaps)! :wuerg:

This is a puzzle that is out to trick you, it is soooo easy to go from 1.5 chickens lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days to 1 chicken lay 1 egg in 1 day.

If you take out the exact amount of days, it is easier to see why this is wrong. 1.5 chickens lay 1.5 eggs in a certain amount of time -> 1 chicken lay 1 egg in that same amount of time. The time frame doesn't change.

Thanks everyone for actively participating, for trying to solve and explain this tricky one.

According to the timestamps of the posts, Elemeef was the first to post the correct answer. Well done!

    Solution to game #9:

The time it takes for a chicken to produce an egg is firm (at least in this puzzle).
All you need to know is the # of eggs per chicken per 1.5 day = 1.5/1.5 = 1 egg per chicken per 1.5 day
    To produce a dozen eggs it takes 1 chicken 12 * 1.5 days = 18 days.

    Game #10

At the end of the day a market vendor has 7 roasted turkey left. A buyer shows up and orders half of it and another half. Soon enough a 2nd buyer orders exactly the same. Once at home the market vendor eats the remaining roasted turkey for dinner.

How is this possible? Please explain substantiated with figures.

  13. Buyer 1 takes 7*1/2 + 1/2 = 3.5+0.5= 4 turkeys.
There are 7-4= 3 turkeys left

    Buyer 2 takes 3*1/2 +1/2 = 1.5+0.5= 2 turkeys
    There is 3-2=1 turkey left

That lucky one is roasted for dinner.

my math is a bit stupid but I get same answer
    7 /2 =3.5
    3.5-0.5=3

    3/2=1.5
    1.5-0.5=1

    1 turkey for vendor

Yep, it's another quick and correct solve by xristos. Hurray!
I also reward Elemeef 0.5 pts for posting an alternative solution.

    Solution to game #10:

Starting with 7 roasted turkeys, the first buyer wants half of it (3,5 roasted turkey) and another half (0,5 roasted turkey) = 4 roasted turkey sold. So when the 2nd buyer appears, there are 3 roasted turkeys left.
He also wants half of it (1.5 roasted turkey) and another half (0.5 roasted turkey) = 2 more roasted turkey sold
All in all the market vendor sold 6 roasted turkeys; 1 roasted turkey left, which he took home for dinner.

    Game #11

    You are given the numbers: 8, 9, 1, 8, 5, 10
You are given the outcome: 579

Solve the puzzle, make a correct math, using all of the given numbers.
There's no restriction on the use of brackets but you only may use +, -, / and * up to two times each in your math.

  17. 8*8*9 + 10/5 + 1 = 576 +2 +1 = 579
