Paprika here in Canada:Is dried and ground up peppers!!
Paprika is a ground spice made from dried red fruits of the larger and sweeter varieties of the plant Capsicum annuum, called bell pepper or sweet pepper. The most common variety used for making paprika is tomato pepper, sometimes with the addition of more pungent varieties, called chili peppers, and cayenne pepper.

Can You share your Special Reason why You choose to deposit more drops at Hippo level 2 than needed? I know why You do so at Giraffe level 2: it is because You focus on getting down the tree fruit amount.
    Yes.

But it does not help me to get enough event drops to take the [IMG] « Madagascar Magic Stalk Row » (400 TEP x Baha level, 500 CC x Farm level, 1 x Crate O' Manure, 1 x Crate O' Plenty).

This means, that I look at the « Zebra habitat » as follows:

Start with the Zebra up to level 12 and alternatively deposit the Giraffe up to level 7. Continue to alternate with the Lion up to level 3 and finish with the Hippo first level before enjoy the « Zebra habitat ».

No sorry, not enough event drops too. This means, that I can not yet reduce the number of items on my Trade & Gift wishlist and I decide to take the 13 Golden Bananas as follows:

Start with the Giraffe (GI) up to level 6 and alternatively deposit the Zebra (ZE) up to level 4. Continue to alternate with the Lion (LI) up to level 2.

    Total event drops:
    [IMG] Toy Bear, 474;
    [IMG] Toy Ball, 480.
Progression conditioned availability, quantity in the barn, market actuality and Market Value guide my choices:

I did this as I found the 6 extra drops to be worth it when getting to avoid the added cost of crops. With this huge amounts of drops required an additional 6 isn't a whole lot. Of course, if you're very low on drops the Hippo care packs would be the way to go. Seeing as you had the event drops around 480 of each almost 7 hours ago you're not far from being on track with using the Care packs. If the crop you used for first harvest took around 13 hours with water you're pretty much on track as far as I can tell. Remember that just getting the cloud row cuts down the amount of drop items by 720 of each kind as well, so then you only need 361 Toy bears and 361 Toy balls every 24 hours. I'd say you have a good chance of getting there and possibly finishing the entire event as well.

For those of you with a fairly high drop rate, I did a quick calculation and figured out that if you get close to 650 drop items of each kind within a 24-hour time frame(not counting the first harvest) you should be good to do the entire event based on drops and not bother with the Care packs at all if you wish to do so. This is if donating the drop item that has the lowest requirement and alternating those with equal requirements. When equal requirements I'd go with Toy balls for the Hippo and Zebra and Toy bears for the Giraffe and Lion just to be sure to alternate between them. This will leave you at a total of 3,630 Toy balls and 3,714 Toy bears necessary throughout the event. That's an average of 605 Toy balls and 619 Toy bears a day(24 hours). Make sure not to add in the first harvest to this so you know how much you will be able to keep getting throughout the event. If unsure it's possible to test it by registering the drops you already have right after a harvest and see how many you get within the next 24 hours. It's probably best not to go with this unless you have a few more drops than required each day just to be sure. Still, it's something to consider if not wanting to use the crops and tree fruits for the Care packs.

@ChayaAvery I used your numbers and translated into Spanish to help my fellow forum members in the Spanish community. Hope you don't mind

Thank you so much for your detailed strategy
    Hats off to you!

I always believed the etymology of the word paprika was Hungarian.
I did a quick research online but I haven't found anything to confirm this 100%.
Anyway, they use it extensively in their cuisine. From their famous goulash to salami.

Writing about this, reminded me of what happened in a restaurant in Berlin a few months ago.
We ordered a pepperoni pizza in an Italian restaurant. Obviously this is what was in our minds
We were eager to eat it after a long day sightseeing.

However, the word pepperoni in Italian is not salami, but a kind of sweet pepper.
So we got something like this

We learnt that the hardest way, cause the pizza was awful!!
Still today we talk about it

Thank You for your encouragement. But I am sorry. The total amount of event drops mentioned in my previous contribution refers to the requirements as defined in my strategy at the « my choices with « elRe1 » » spoiler:

    78+216+180=474.toyBear;
    144+180+156=480.toyBall.

Here are my actual progression with « elRe1 »:

    96.tRcomingSooncS
    72.tRcScS

    24.tRcScS
    0.tRcScS
    subtotal241263
    total 474 480

Considering, that the « 13 Golden Banana » strategy requires every 24 hours only 80 units of each event drop type, I am qualified.

:inlove: YUM! I would have loved that pizza with peppers & tomatoes. My mouth is watering over that pic. :)

Good luck to everyone during this event. I accidentally forgot to plant a long growing crop overnight on my mainlands last night. Actually, forgot to plant anything there period. Empty fields this morning on my mainlands. So as usual playing one step behind. :p

I don't mind at all. The more people it can help the better. So feel free to share anything you want from my posts at any time.

Hm. That makes it harder for sure. I guess you can always post in the SOS thread that joanc started to get more drops but even that won't help with getting the cloud row or zebra stable this time. Therefore my main suggestion to you is to focus on upgrading the trophies you get in the FSQ's "Farming Contest" and "Country Fair", and preferably get them onto the Tree of wisdom in the Magical Glade with the Living Legend rune. These quests take a while, but are definitely worth it when it comes to getting enough drops for events. This is therefore a long-term strategy and not something that will help in this current event. I wish I could be of more help for this event as well though.

I'm trying to get the carepacks that require the more drops, so that if I run out of time ( =bad drop rate) I can THEN throw in the easy-to-make ones.

Otherwise, I like this event. The last time I remember this sort, we had to grow two (?) sorts of event crops.... I much prefer this one.

Assuming you followed the suggestions I had with mostly care packs, this means you got 978 Toy bears and 918 Toy balls to get to level 7 for all animals. It depends on how many extra drops you had after getting them to level 7, as well as the amount of drops you got from your very first harvest.
-Seeing as it had been two days and 6 hours or so(54 hours) of the event when you posted, it's probably a little low for getting to level 12 with all animals.
-For getting to level 10 and the cloud row(or level 11 for that matter) you seem to be on track as you then would need at least 813 drops of each kind by the 54 hour mark. How many drops you got for the first harvest matters some here, but either way I would think this should be doable.
-If no harvest at the start of the event you would have needed to have at least 1,083 drops of each kind 54 hours into the event to be on track for level 12. If you had fairly long crops for the first harvest, it means your average each day is somewhat lower and that will make it harder to keep getting enough drops.

You don't seem to be that far behind though, so depending on what you're already doing it might still be doable to reach level 12. Adding some suggestions here, but you might be doing this already. Just something to consider.
-If not doing so already I would use manure as well as water on long crops if you're able to. I know manure costs a lot in the market now, but for crops taking 10 hours it cuts down an hour of the growing time(if having the Growth Boost rune for manure from the Tree of wisdom), and even more for longer crops. It's something you need to decide if you want to do or not as it might not help enough. Assuming your average amount of drops of each kind every hour this event is 18(972 divided by 54 hours, so no first harvest), using manure with that rune could mean an extra 2.4 hours and therefore around 43 drops of each kind a day. This makes around 97 drops of each kind in the 54 hours the event had lasted by the time you posted. That would mean getting close to the needed average. Remember that I haven't considered the hours and drops you got from the first harvest here, so this might not be accurate. Drops are of course somewhat random as well, so I can't say anything for sure.
-If having any cloud rows that cut down the time for certain kinds of crops(or gives added drops), using these as much as possible when harvesting/planting can help a lot.
-If having any crops that have reduced growing time or shorter time with water through the Greenhouse plant refinery, these can also help with cutting down growing time of crops.
-Getting some help with drops in the SOS thread might be good as well if you want to try to aim for level 12. This is going to be challenging and I can't say for sure it will work though.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Knowing your first harvest or amount of drops within a 24 hour time-frame, as well as how many drops you've gotten in total(used and still in inventory) would be helpful in giving a better answer than this one where I make some assumptions that probably aren't correct. Hope it helps some anyhow though.

Good going Mir, Kibsnfebs and anyone else who has finished! :D

I am taking the slow route, just donating Balls and Bears for the moment and no milling. Just did a quick tally of what I have left to do to finish - I am quietly confident that I can get the CR with one animal at 7, two at 9 and one at 11 :p - and there is roughly 500 drops difference. I haven't been going overboard to get maximum drops, preferring to plant what I am working on for FSQs but think it is time to switch strategy and see what longer crops give me overnight. :music:
I may have to mill a few Care Packs if I come up short but as long as they all get to 10, the rest is a bonus. xD
Good luck all those still feeding those hungry critters! ;)

Edit: Having checked out my outstanding requirements, I will probably do some Care Packs for Hippo and Zebra as they need less Bears and Balls - plus the number they require is about the same so I don't need to worry about have more of one than the other. I have been mixing the donations up so far ...

At the beginning of my activity on the english language Farmerama Bigpoint forum I was excited to discover the SOS discussions and actively participate to help. Actually, I am well with my drop rate: I am not yet an obsessive drop hunter or collector. If 80 daily Toy Bears and 80 daily Toy Balls give me 13 Golden Bananas, it is really perfect: More Golden Bananas I get, more Monkey Temple Statues I own. More Monkey Temple Statues I own, more Bahamarama crops I handle. And, more Bahamarama crops I handle, better I can participate in upcoming Island events.
I like the daily friendly gift system and few months ago I try to make use of it for rare drops, Wonderfruits and Nublonian Batteries. Now, I am a seasonal gift fanatic (actually Sweet Summer Gift runs). More seasonal gifts I own, better I feel.
I hate it that the system take all my event drops away once the event ends. I understand that otherwise the inventory is a Chaos Complex and I wonder through the years why we do not obtain the possibility to build an Event Drop Center where we can decide what we give away as soon as the recurrent and hypothetic event drop phenomenon be active. I know that the Recycl-O-Mat take some old event drops too.
As it seems, once a trophy be deposit as a Living Legend potential, the Farmerama user can no more show it on his Farmphoto. If one day I participate the « s » function photo contest, I need the trophies as moveable items. Here is a Low Level example with « elRe11 »:
    Recapitulation:

    Toy Ball, 149+114+115+115=subtotal.493_total.480_surplus.13.

Now, I mill the 24 [IMG] Giraffe Care Pack (24x10=240.second=4.minute) and 4 [IMG] Lion Care Pack (4x45=180.second=3.minute).
