Parrot Par-tea Strategy

I found out: skipping a couple of events is great for building up SG and SSG reserves! This, plus a 100% harvest bonus, CAC and a Jack O' Gift and getting up "early" at 9 am this morning provided me with 8 Grounds and 5 Gyms by now, about 24hrs after I started.
Got plenty of crops to build a few more but ran out of drops. Oh well, plenty of time left to work on those, if needed.

I like to add: ALL upgrades must be placed before conversion takes place the other day!

 

The time reducing cloud rows work on the simple food gym and foodie grounds. I just placed a foodie gym and it is going to be ready in 7.5 hours instead of ten! So plan ahead, people!
The cloud rows I am talking about are in the 'other section', egg-spert painter, fishing bonanza 2 and an oldie called easter 2015...

 

Eee-gads! I do not want to be negative, but this event makes me feel stupid. LOL

I couldn't start yesterday so I may not be able to catch up fast enough. I want that Chinchilla stable.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what to focus on so I can get a chinchilla?

 

Work on Peter Parrot first, sglick. That is my plan. I only have 1 of those little darlings.

 

I've taken your advice, Chaya, and have so far managed to build 4 Simple Food Gyms, and will build another one or two when I harvest in about 40 minutes. Will then use CF's for overnight and everything will be ready to harvest again in the morning around 7:00-7:30a.m.(.....now wherrre's that coffee cup - OH!...in my hand! lol ....errrr...where did I put the coffee pot?!!....ooops! hahaha...in my other hand!! errrrr...guess I better hurry up and drink some of it...!!)

 

I haven't gone into the nitty gritty of working out hours/growing/harvesting etc, but does anyone else think that this whole event is impossible to complete without buying baskets/drops?

@illy1996 - I'm too not buying baskets, never do. I'm just growing now and aiming for at least one upgraded giver. I'm finding the drops for the gym are not so good and the other drops are better - there doesn't seem to be a balance between the two.

@puppiesnponies - My goal too was the Chinchilla (happy to have one now!) and am not too fussed about the other one either. Will just see how far I can get. With the way the drops are going on my farm, I can't see me getting both upgraded givers but will give it my best shot.

Growalot: No idea! Just growing, milling and crossing everything!
Oh, and I WON'T be buying any baskets!

 

We are approaching 48 hours in which is 1/3. I have 21 trinkets made and another gym milling. Yes, it can be done without using money. However, should I be wrong , my goal is the chinchilla and if the other parrot doesn't get finished, I can live with it.
I have 4 simple gyms on the glade and 1 milling, plus 3 foodie grounds on the glade. By the time the event clock has lapsed 48 hours, I will have a total of 8 base givers made. We need 26 to fully upgrade both givers so I think it will all work out. Good luck!

 

The events are hard to finish up for sure the way they are now. I'm glad I can help some though. Hopefully you'll get as much as possible from this event at least.

Sounds good that you have at least 5 Simple Food Gyms now. If able to keep it up at this rate with growing crops you will at least be able to get all the Food Gym upgrades. With 5(out of 13 needed) so far a little less than 1/3 into the event, that shouldn't be too difficult.

How are the Bird trinkets coming along? Depending on how many Bird trinkets/parrots fed you have already and how many Simple Food Gyms you've placed now, it might very well be that you can finish up all of the Bird trinkets as well. At this point if having around 14 of the Bird trinkets(or getting there within the next 2-3 hours), you should be on track there. If having much less, I would place more than just 8 of the Simple Food Gyms on the Magical Glade once you get them.

It definitely can be done! It's not the easiest of events and takes some time and planning, but it's doable. Even without too much planning it's possible to get everything done if using both fields for growing crops and placing the Simple Food Gyms/Foodie Grounds on the Magical Glade when they're done milling. It's harder if using just one field for crops or if unable to harvest around 4 times(assuming 1x1 fields with CAC) a day though.

 

How do I get the parrots to show up to feed them? Thanks.

 

Blessedlady: Go to the event window (either from one of the main fields or through the event tab) and you will see a teeny weeny little empty square (bottom right). Just click in that and the Parrots will be flying everywhere!
Just remember to wear a large hat!

3 Foodie Grounds
5 Simple Food Gyms

Can't place for another 2 hours on the 5 simple food gyms. 1 hour and 20 minutes on the foodie grounds. I have just totally forgot to start using these items... Now I am gonna be pushing it.

Currently I have 5 old and 1 new (6) Simple Food Gyms, and 1 Foodie, with one more Foodie in the mill. But have only harvested 10 from the Simple Gyms so far. (Got a Kumasi stable from Party Parrot!!...annnnd a sticker, of course! Lol)
Another bird's nest harvest coming up in 1 hr. 11 min. (@2:04 p.m. EST/USA)

I got off to a late start this morning.....went out to water my garden and had to do some extra care! My cantaloupes and Butternut squash have 'Blossom End Rot'!! So had to fertilize, etc. as well!

**Does anyone know what homemade (organic) remedy (besides egg shells) might get rid of Blossom End Rot??**
It is sooo disappointing to see baby 'lopes and squash disappearing! I hope it doesn't spread to my Tomatoes!!

 

I decided to find out what the Crate of Lunch Snacks was and began feeding the Parrots willy nilly - only to find I was feeding the Blue ones and should have been feeding Yellow ones!

Changed tack but only got within three feeds of the Lunch Snacks! Oh well, won't have too long to wait till I get enough to reach that first goal.

I am quietly confident that I will be able to feed both Parrots 60 times but I am wondering if I can be bothered to get 13 of each just to get another EP giver that I have to squeeze into my already packed Pet Playground!
May consider going back to working on FSQs.

 

If you place another 3 Simple Food Gyms or 4 Foodie Grounds on the Magical Glade you should be fine even if only having three days left of the event to collect Bird Trinkets. That's assuming you can get in 2 harvests a day for the Simple Food Gyms and 3 harvests a day for the Foodie Grounds.

Sounds like you should be ok as long as you place a few more than 8 of Simple Food Gyms as well as any Foodie Grounds you get. The Foodie Grounds aren't quite as good, but if lacking the drops to build the Simple Food Gyms, they're definitely the best option to go with. They're close enough if you can get them harvested often enough though. It doesn't hurt to place all you build on the Magical Glade even if not necessary either. The more the better in my opinion as it might give more of the lootable rewards such as that Kumasi stable

Currently I now have 7 Simple Gyms and 4 Foodie's. I'm just short of crops for making another of either one, but am due to harvest again at 2:52 p.m. EST/USA..(it is now 1:26 p.m. EST/USA), and will have another Simple Gym shortly thereafter. All are immediately placed on the Magical Glade.

I'm only going to make a 5th Foodie (so I'll have enough for an upgrade-4-and 1 for a base). Will go for just 10 of the Simple gyms...enough to make 3 upgrades and 1 base.
I already have some Chinchillas so don't need to finish, although it would be nice to be able to; and I just got the Cottonwood wonder trees - so I'm o.k. not to kill myself trying to finish!!

Frankly, I am getting exhausted from all this planting/harvesting/milling/Timings/juggling meetings, having company, and more Real Life!! Oh - and not to forget...sleeeeping once in a while!!zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....it's called dreaming-in-PINK!!

I am just happy to have finished the actual Parrot Breeding Event!! GOOOO PINK!!!YAAAAAAAYYYY!!

Exchange your excess Base items into Upgrades:

• 4 x Foodie Grounds = 1 x Foodie Upgrade
• 4 x Simple Food Gyms = 1 x Food Gym Upgrade
