Thanks for doing the math, SahraB. :)

Had a feeling BP wasn't just gonna let us have a whole week to make the most of the +1 or +2 revenue from stables we're getting as post-season trophy rewards. xD So mean.

the prizes are great, I've already gotten a moose reserve but I see we need to farm a lot of postcards, I still have to farm a solid 15 per hour to finish day 1 and my animal houses are all in the region of 9 hours, my trees 20 hours so.... does anyone know how to best farm postcards?

Lots of fast stables like cuckoos? or plant some fast growing crops? It's going to be a tricky 24 hours + another + another lol

    update:
harvesting 4x xxl trees gives Nothing
harvesting 4x cress fields gives Nothing
harvesting 4x carrot fields gives Nothing
harvesting 4x sorghum fields gives Nothing
harvesting 2x cuckoo stall gives Nothing - second harvest: 2 postcards
drop rate roughly 30% for cuckoo stalls
drop rate of 25% for chicken hutches
    75% for goose huts
    80% for mouse stalls

cuckoos winning atm with 1 postcard every 4 hours per hutch

I am not going to fully commit to this one since each day has different requirements. I will play with what I can get. I did manage without trying to complete the first level on each task. Working in RL does complicate this one.

Got a late start and there isn't much time left to test as these quests are only 24h long each, so it's a bit difficult to give reliable advice... but the general rule of thumb for drops is that it is dependent on time - the longer the crop/tree/stable/workshop, the more likely it is to yield a drop.

Trees tend to have the worst drop rate and it doesn't seem to be any different for this event so I would avoid trees altogether.

Longer crops are generally the best option but I never got around to testing drop rates on crops vs. stables on a per hour basis for recent events so I don't know how the two compare. Putting out crops instead of pens would also mean missing out on Happy Workshop Day and/or the stable revenue bonus I mentioned earlier until quest 1 is over so you need to take that into consideration too.

What I can say is that with stables/workshops, I'd avoid any pen longer than 6:40 for this event because my orange goose stables are giving me 1 drop per stable on my side farm. Anything over that would be a waste of time and space that you could be using to generate drops since each stable/workshop can only yield a max of 1 drop.

Didn't get very good results from cuckoos - only 25 postcards from 128 basic cuckoo coops.

I had half a field of basic goose stables out and got drops from about 75% of them too. If that reflects the actual drop rate, then I think 5h stables/workshops with longer crops on peripheral 1x1 plots might be a good option for those looking to maximize drops while still benefitting from the HWP mini-event and/or stable revenue buff currently running.

Make sure to use valentine's pot and either eggnog or cheese balls to reduce time by 15% on stables, or church bouquet and either guava jam or gingerbread to reduce time by 15% on workshops.

EDIT 1: 128 basic goose stables yielded 98 postcards in one harvest.

EDIT 2: All results are from farms with LL at 30% and no Howies.

thx zero I am currently testing sheep and rabbits. Anything over 6 hours is a 100% drop but if one can get it under 6 hours that helps. I am currently demolishing my 12 hour butterfly houses as there is only 10 hours left for this event.

    Tomorrows quest should be easier

If you think you're going to run out of time, you can also use PF on your pens.

Not for me. My main farm only needs 2 full harvests to complete the current quest - doesn't get any easier than that.
1 harvest would've been enough if I was growing crops. ;)
Event crops, on the other hand... :wuerg:

yep starting day 2 but having looked over the faqs again and the fact I am still receiving old postcards it turns out collecting postcards is not over yet and we need to produce as many as we have been over the course of the 4 days in order to complete the 4th event where rughly 1000 old postcards willk be needed.

ps: rabbit stalls seem to work out best for me on the animal side for postcards, have not tried crops yet.

I've got a mix of things on all my fields, so I'm not sure what's best as far as postcard drops...but I was really happy when I could harvest all my XXL trees just before I went off to bed last night - got that upgrade by the skin of my teeth on this farm. ugh.

I got a late start on crops today. We'll see if I get to the upgrade or not...

Remember folks, you don't have to do the gold and platinum levels - just do the silvers on 1 and 2 and go straight to the 3rd stage to get that upgrade. Then if you have the items left over, do the gold and/or platinum on the other two stages.

erm crumbs, I have made another realization and I'm not sure if I can change it but I have not been spot on farming everything down to the minute as I am sure I am not the only one.
Well on day 1 we got 1 free goggle and orla's barn dropping a goggle every 9 hours.
We need 13 goggles in total to complete this quest which does not sound like a lot but we only have 92 hours in total for this quest right so do the math, a goggle every 9 hours means 10 goggles in 96 hours and we need 12 (without the free one).

If one had applied an upgrade to orlas's barn after the first harvest, then the time would drop to 8 hours per goggle, so then 96 hours/ 8 = 12

however I did not apply the upgrade straight away which was not possible I don't think so the first harvest had to have been 9 hours for every player making the time required to complete this quest without buying goggles at 96+1 hour - that is if you can farm exactly on the second the barn becomes available because even 20 seconds delay over 12 goggles is a minute over when the event ends.

Is there any way I can speed up orla's barn ?

edit: thx xristos for that tip, that does make it doable

  15. After applying 3 upgrades you receive 2 goggles in each harvest.
After applying 6 upgrades you receive 3 goggles.
That makes the collection of the goggles doable.

Plots needed on bahamarama for day 3 quest is 170:

First round on 2x2 with suzy's super grow yields 100 old gnomes
Replant them in 70 2x1 and 30 1x1 fields and get a harvest of 470 old gnomes.

Now you need three rounds on 170 1x1 plots which yields 170*3*3 = 1530 old gnomes not counting starter seeds.

When we add the starter seed build up of 470 we get exactly 2000 old gnomes which is the total requirement.

Note that all numbers are with CAC.

The reason for the calculation was that I had trees on bahamarama and wanted to see how many I could keep. The answer is 18.

Nah zero this event has been stressful, last day will be toughest one yet but amongst the upgrades are 850,000 TEP and 15 golden bananas to be won.

been slowly building up my old postcards at a rate of 10 per hour on average.

For day 4 we need to harvest 20 totems per hour for 24 hours straight.

So will this be twice as hard or will baha animals pop out more totems. We shall see

My baha fields aren't even fully unlocked yet which won't help
