Great Tip! I always rearrange mine by hand - very time consuming! Thanks Mir! :D

    Thanks for the tip, -Mir85-!
I don't have a harvester subscription  so I rarely get to use the builder but when I do, I use a similar "hack" by placing a few 1x1s in strategic locations to get my 2x2s or stables to line up just the way I want it.

I will probably stick with my method as the alignment of the fields would mess with my hand-harvesting rhythm, but your method is definitely much faster and more convenient for those who can afford the machinery. :)

Your placement certainly looks neater :) There was a time when I would line up my plots or stables too, but I have long since caved to convenience :p

Can anyone remind me of the different ways to obtain Manufactories, Menageries and Arboretums? I know that we can get one from Stars, one from the Temple and they can be bought for 299BBs but I am sure I got one or more from an FSQ. Can anyone enlighten me please? :)

We can get one from FSQ ? I am also waiting for the answer.

  7. For the main farm and the island there are no FSQ's giving manufactories, menageries and arboretums.
After the fist ones acquired with stars and golden bananas the only way to have more is to buy with BB.
With FSQ's we can only get them for the moonlight areas.

I don't know, One-Two. I know I have one of each but I have never bought one with BBs.

Thanks Xristos-ale3andros. I forgot where they came from. I know I got misled when I saw FSQs come out to do with Manufactories etc but they must have been only to get the blue-prints for upgrades. :music:
Though it's not good news, at least I am a little wiser ... o_O

Can someone enlighten me about the season trophy and its upgrade. If we upgrade the season trophy, will the benefits of the upgraded trophy stay forever or will it be until this season end ?

Is the upgrade of the present season trophy worth getting for ?

  10. During 2020 there will be 9 upgrades of the season trophy, so the accumulated benefits will be valid until the end of 2020.
The exception is the short period between successive seasons where the trophy only gives EP.
We are currently at upgrade 2.
In my opinion, it is worth going for the upgrades if you are seeking for the additional benefits (basically the %EP).

hey! i'm a newbie in the game and wanted to ask... so ultimately 1x1 plots are more eficient than 2x2 and 2x1 right?

    Welcome ~artemis~ :)

If you have a buff/bonus like pumpkin jam (+1 crop) or carrot apple chutney (+2 crops) then 1x1 are better yes. Without any buff the harvest will be the same regardless of field size.

    Is it?
If you have 4 seeds and plant them on 1x1s, you get a yield of 2 seeds per plot x 4 seeds = 8.
If you plant those 4 seeds on 2x2s, you will harvest 5 seeds per plot x 4 seeds = 20.

    Am I missing something?

Unless we are talking about starter seeds for an event or similar, the limiting factor is not the amount of seeds you have to plant, but the land to plant them on. ~artemis~ didn't specify, but I assumed it was a general question about growing regular crops on the farm or event crops after you have built up enough starter seeds.

In that case you don't want to compare four 1x1s to four 2x2s as they don't take up the same amount of land on the farm.

Instead compare four 1x1s to one 2x2, they take up the same amount of land.

Also, when starter seeds are not the limiting factor you don't want to count them in the harvest yield. You had them before you planted them, so you are just getting them back. Instead you want to count the net harvest without starter seeds.

    The calculation then becomes:

Four 1x1 require 4 starter seeds, you harvest 4*2= 8 seeds, net harvest is 8-4= 4
One 2x2 require 1 starter seed, you harvest 5 seeds, net harvest is 5-1=4

If instead you want to build up starter seeds, then 2x2 plots are better. Then land is not the limiting factor and you want to make the most of the seeds by planting them on large plots.

PS. I realize you probably know this squigglegiggle, so I am writing it out in detail for newer players.

Ah, I see your point. I had interpreted "efficiency" as meaning the fastest way to build up seeds/how to get the most out of your seeds. As in, it is more efficient to plant four seeds in four 2x2s than it is to plant four seeds in four 1x1s. But space-wise, if there is no limit on the number of seeds you have available to plant, yes, using four 1x1s has the same net yield as one 2x2.

Wow, I didn't realize how much there was to it.. Thank you -Mir85- and squigglegiggle for trying to answer and explain it to me! It was helpful although I'm still a little confused to be honest hahah. I'll try to look around the game strategies and get a beter grip of it.

It really depends on what you're trying to achieve when you say "efficiency". There are so many different ways to play this game, it is really down to developing a strategy that words for you based on what your personal circumstances are.

1x1 plots are the small individual squares, whereas 2x2 plots are the larger squares. Each plot takes 1 seed. So, for example, you could place one seed on a 2x2 plot and harvest 5 (which will be a profit of 4 seeds). Alternatively, you could fill that space with four 1x1 plots (2x2 = same space as 4 individual squares). You could then plant a seed in each of these plots. They would yield 2 seeds each, with again a profit of 4 seeds (because you started with 4, planted them [so you now have 0 in your possession], harvest 8, so you now have 4 seeds more than you started with).

What Mir was saying was that in the space of a 2x2 plot, you can either plant one 2x2 or four 1x1s, but either way you will make the same profit of crops.

What I was saying was that if you have a limited number of seeds, you can get more out of those seeds if you plant them on a 2x2.

The reason for this is that each plot takes 1 seed regardless of its size (unless it is a comfort plot). That is, both a 1x1 and a 2x2 plot will still take just one seed. If you plant your one seed in a 1x1 plot, you will harvest 2 - a net gain of 1. However, if you plant your one seed in a 2x2, you will harvest 5 - a net gain of 4. If you have four seeds (using the example from above), you can either plant them on 4 1x1s (as we established, this is a harvest of 8 and a profit of 4), or on 4 2x2s - this is a harvest of 16, and a profit of 12.

Essentially, you get more per seed if you use 2x2s, but the same profit per square regardless of size. So what this means is you can either fill your land with all 1x1s, or all 2x2s (with 1x1s filling in the gaps) and make the same crop profit. However, filling your land with all 1x1s will require more seeds to plant than if you use mostly 2x2s, because you would need 200-odd seeds to fill each individual 1x1 plot (there are 200-odd squares on the main field), versus only 44 (plus extras to fill in the edges of the field) to fill all the 2x2 plots.

    Hopefully this makes more sense!

Wow thank you so much! It really does make sense now! I swear I'm not dumb (tiktok reference?..) it's just that the game has so many things we can do that it's a little overwhelming I may say... Nonetheless I appreciate that you took the time to write everything out in detail! <3 <3
